Sagan toying with Alaphilippe in the last 500m was a thing of beauty tbh.

On commentators. Carlton Kirby gone from providing a legendary bit of commentary for Cav's finish to a bizarre call of Stuyven having a 1min gap as the peloton were basically saying their see ya laters. Can't help but prefer Kirby and Kelly though, Kirby's odd moments always balanced out with a dry "Erm... no." from Kelly. Saying that, Ned is great and if you get a chance to go to one of his "audience with", do it.

Think he struggled to understand the time gap was to the yellow jersey, and obviously Cav had been dropped by that point so it said a minute back. Him blaming the graphics was quite amusing though, seeing as they've done it that way for as long as I can remember.

I struggled to understand that time gap thing as well, although I'm not being paid to understand it.

Any chance of Sagan not finishing in green now?

If they ride any slower then the fookin stage will still be going when the highlights are supposed to be on.

Nibs out the back on the first legit climb of the race. A cynic might suggest that he is singularly uninterested in lifting a finger in aid of Aru.

His acupuncturist must be on annual leave.

But yeah, didn't understand him going. Same with Orica taking both Gerrans and Matthews.

Hmm. Froome better feel he has good climbing legs, think Nairo will try punishing him for that tomorrow.

Take it when you can IMO. Not like the rest of them behind were cruising down on a charabanc.

Froome got a 200 swiss franc fine for what he did. As for todays stage, I think it'll be as you were really. Quintana will have to attack to pull some seconds back but I think Sky will have him covered so losses could be small. However we don't really know how much yesterday did take out of Froome, but with a rest day tomorrow and a couple of sprinters type stages coming in the next couple of stages i'd imagine the GC lot will go for it big time in this one.

Three strong Movistar riders in the break. Two fingers up to Brailsford's whinging that no one else was racing.

Normally wouldn't expect Quintana to do too much till the Alps but just think yesterday may backfire on Froome today if Quintana is feeling up to it. I know some say it was a tactical master plan yesterday, but could also come across as Froome running scared from attacking on the climbs. Movistar will want to test out what he can can do on a ascent.

We'll find out who has what in the tank today. Quintana will surely have to do something special here with a rest day, some flat stages and a time trial coming soon so he'll need to get time on the board if he's to challenge. I'd be shocked if this stage isn't won by Froome or Quintana.

Nibali attacks on descent: PANACHE! PANACHE! OH GOLDEN SON OF COPPI! GIANT OF THE ROAD! SWEAT OF THE GODS!

Froome attacks on descent: Running scared IMO.
