Having treked across the Somerset Levels and got a few decent photos this morning, I'm now in residence on Gloucester Road, preparing to take on the Gas in what is likely to be a pretty competiive reserve match. I'm thinking a 3 - 1 loss and on to Carlisle at home

We'll probably make up to 6 changes from Saturday's team (pretty thin on options in defence until Halliday is back and we get in another CB). I gather Bristol have similar plans driven by injuries and a belief that whoever they put out will beat us (according to the local rag).

I did a double-take when I thought Rory Gaffney was serving my first pint at the Wellington........until he spoke. He has a double.

If you were on the levels you should have visited Wells as i was in my local earlier and would have bought you a pint, that goes for any of you on here if you're in my local area. :)

Charlton are apparently changing 11 of their players for tonights match regardless of any possible fine.

Glad to see they are taking this competition as seriously as it should be!
Didn't realise there were fines in the League Cup. Can't recall there being last time we were in it 6 years ago.

Thought that was just the JPT one.

4 changes for us, more than I thought.

Farman, Arnold, Rhead and Ginnelly (injured) out with Vickers, JMD, Knott and Anderson coming in.

Three changes for us. Elliot Lee in for the departing Isaac Vassell, Glen Era in for Dan Potts (meaning Sheehan shifts over to left back) and Jordan Cook in for Alan McCormack, who we will be wrapping in cotton wool whenever possible this season.

Just the 8 changes for us. Scunny seem to be going strong - all the ingredients for a sumptuous thrashing.

Jon Stead still manages to get a game though of course - thoughts and prayers to those going to the game who have to sit and watch him play football

Crowd looking tiny here at the moment, not far off the tinpot trophy games apart from the away following. Bit disappointing.

We made eight changes but are 1-0 up at Scunthorpe. Grant seemingly the best player on the pitch, having scored and hit the underside of the bar already - makes Nolan's decision to leave him out at the weekend all the more bizarre.

2-1 down at home to Blackburn after making 6 changes. Duckens Nazon has scored on his full debut though.

Fucking cheating Norwich - they play their first XI while we rest 4. Shouldn't that be the other way around?

Losing 3-2 now.

Jerome, Maddison and Hoolahan for them, Lancashire and Mullin for us.

Awful weather in Mansfield apperantly, losing 1-0 plenty of missed chances.

we've brought Alan Smith on for Jon Stead which I think is the most depressing indictment of a squad in human history.

also losing 2-1.

Wasted loads of chances and then a penalty as our forwards are poor.

Not really a surprise tbh.

Could be a blessing in disguise. It would
Be within their interests to win on Saturday

Been following our game on Twitter whilst at darts - can't believe what I've witnessed.

I fully expected a 5/6-0 drubbing. And I'm a positive Cheltenham fan.

Good win for us tonight at fleetwood, but Carlisle fans... don't get carried away. Its fleetwood fucking town!

We've a history of getting good results in this cup then going back to shit in the league at the weekend.

Dammit, I hope I can cancel the League Champions 2017/18 banner I've just ordered.

And the better sides do take it lightly, I mean who'd have thought Rochdale would go and spring a shock at Mansfield, or Ipswich could go and pull off a giant killing at Luton. These things happen in the cup, but it has no bearing on the league.

Great performance, battled hard against a good Fleetwood team, I fully expect them to be up in the playoffs again.

Wasn't much in it for an hour but a couple Fleetwood changes swung it in their favour as we went one up front. Fantastic corner and header put us ahead in extra time and shortly after they went down to 10 men and it was comfortable from then on.

Much better than expected, but have to take it into the league.

571 away fans in a crowd of 1700.

Thought we played pretty well really but that Ipswich just had that little bit extra quality through McGoldrick to win it. Thought 1-0 was probably fairer than the eventual 2-0 but what does that matter really?! We moved the ball quite nicely especially early second half (thought we were slightly slow with it in the first half) but whereas those moves came off on Saturday they didn't really tonight.

If Lee (Elliot that is!) taps in that rebound just before half time then we might have gone on to do something but not to be I guess. Still looked a decent footballing side though which is good to see.

Bit disappointed the crowd was so low though - would have thought after the weekend and a relatively attractive cup tie it might have been a few more than 4600 odd.

That's my concern. We've been here before.

Remember when we played well and knocked Blackburn out of this cup, then 3 days later we went to Bradford and got humped 4-0.

If we turn up and beat Cambridge then fair enough we can maybe say we've turned it round after the Swindon match
