8 changes for us tonight. Getting some minutes in those that haven't had chance or have had injuries. Starts for Maher, Khan and Orsi which is good to see. Looks like a few changes for Stags too. No Lapslie, Atkins or Clarke in their XI. Anything could happen here, both sides seemingly using it to keep their fringe players fresh. Can we just agree to both take it easy and not pick up any injuries?

Following an early tactical withdrawal, 8 out of the 11 today are under 20. It's all been Cambridge since that change tbf, but the kids are doing alright, definitely a few of them will go on to have decent football careers I think.

Saying that, looking at the screengrab for the dissallowed offside goal, it's an awful referee decision with their leftback playing him on by a mile, as usual. Cambridge spurned two clear chances themselves.

Probably the worst 45 minutes of football I’ve seen. I know both teams are full of fringe players but it’s awful tripe. Plymouth have hardly had to do much to be 2 up at half time. We’ve spent 45 minutes repeatedly passing back to our keeper. There’s no intent whatsoever. Only reason I’ll watch the 2nd half is to see if Hepburn-Murphy gets 30 minutes and looks any good.

26 year old ex Barcelona and Juventus midfielder and full Brazil international Arthur playing for Liverpool u21s at Rochdale tonight.

But it’s all about developing young English talent right?

This format with B/21 teams needs scrapped with immediate effect.

And with Ben Fox going off at half time it’s 9 teenagers in the line up. Holding their own so good on them.

Just found out Nigel Clough is playing Jordan Bowery at CB tonight, if that’s not the greatest F U to this cup I don’t know what is.

Thank fuck we are out. Sick of seeing first team players pick up injuries in this pointless waste of time. Hopefully we send our youth team to fullfill the final group game.

Third cup defeat already this season. Not complaining too much as long as the league form doesn't suffer. Hepburn-Murphy seems to have a spark. Could be a useful addition to our attacking threat. He's just scored a consolation as I type this.

In fairness he’s tried it a few times.

It hasn’t worked.

Apparently we’re 2 down?

3 more teenagers subbed on in the second half. Chances are if you’re 16-19 and live in the Northampton area you got some minutes tonight.

bad news for HG = Carlisle got a last minute equaliser and won the penalty shoot out - so Carlisle are still in - so far.

Fuck fuck fuck!

I was hoping we’d be out tonight so we don’t risk any first team players in this once great but now shit competition.

I’d still play the youth team in our final group game, but as we’re still in, like tonight it will be a mixture of players and youth players. So plenty of opportunity for more costly injuries.

Lost another first teamer to injury tonight. Hate it.

Fotmob said Lapslie was playing at CB on Saturday, assuming that was a mistake?!

We played a goalkeeper on the right wing last season...

Did Fox just go off as a precaution? Absolute madness how quick he has recovered. Think he might be a robot.

Young Rovers side the better team against Bolton who also made changes. Good performance and hopefully gets some momentum going for us.

Hope the Bolton smoke bomb for their equaliser was worth it

Our squad team beat Suttons squad team seven changes each. We should've been out of sight by the end of the first half, we created so many clear chances. Young Chelsea loanee Jayden Wareham scored two of the goals and should've had a hatrick.

Having said that, Sutton punished our one and only mistake in the first half to keep themselves in the game.

Second half was more even, Sutton brought on Craig Eastmond to give their midfield something more, both sides had a few chances to score. Tom James scored a peach of a free kick at the very end to seal the win after Eastmond got himself sent off for a second booking.

Deserved win for us I thought, first half we should've been at least three goals ahead we cut through Sutton quite a few times.

Another lifeless display and another game without a win.

In isolation this game against Wolves kids doesn’t matter but as part of the start to the season it puts more pressure on DC.

Seems we lost 3-2 at Wimbledon tonight. Down to ten men after 30 minutes when young centre back Ogungo was sent off. According to reports he fell over in the box and dragged the ball away from a Wimbledon attacker with his hand. He's young but he needs a stern talking too for getting sent off in this competition

I'm not sure if we are out or not...meh.

Agree lots of positives despite their late equaliser.
