Iorfa has a big future in the game, and sadly I can see him leaving us in the summer.

Kourtney Hause however I'm not so convinced. He rarely starts for Wolves, so I'm confused why he starts for England under 21's. Surely there are better players available?

Still it's nice (or scary, whatever way you look at it) that two of our defenders play for the u21's.

The squads are always a bit weakened for this because IIRC the age eligibility is different to the U21 Euros, some players will the in the FA Cup/Europe/Championship play-offs or U19 Euro squads.

Watched the first half of the Portugal game, thought we played pretty well and bossed it.

Is this the right thread for Toulon Tournament final between England and France?

Watching the game and England have players with actual experience (Chalobah, Redmond).

England are 1-0 up. Baker.

Clubs are very reticent to free their players from what I heard.

It's 2-0, Loftus-Cheek. Men v boys really.

Wolves again have 2 starters tonight, Iorfa and Hause. Both have been crap for us so far this season mind.

Rashford is a level above.

This will do him no harm though.

Liked this image, we might be a 2nd tier club, but our academy is still up there with the best of them.

Running rampant against Bosnia U21s here, 5-0 up and could be 10 (including two for Tammy Abraham on his first start :) ). Pace, movement, fluidity, one touch passing - it's great to watch. Maybe not the strongest opposition but very encouraging nonetheless, and the difference between this and the senior side's performance against Malta is stark

Quick start to the game at St Mary's..

Gray gives England an early lead but Italy replied with a deflected cross.

Only 12k or so in attendence.

Was with the Under 20s and took charge on a temporary basis whilst Southgate made the big move to the Seniors and now he has been confirmed as the full time manager.

Case of jobs for the boys or trying to keep some continuity within the FA?

Be interesting to see if Aidy has to follow a certain style of play set out by the FA or is allowed to choose whatever he likes...

Probably more a case of the weakness of the other applicants, which makes it even more depressing.

Neither of those players were produced by your academy though.

They were bought by and produced by our academy, though. Another reason why our academy is regarded amongst the best in the country.

U21 Euros time.

I don't see England doing much to be honest. The Germans, Italians, Portuguese and Spanish all have strong looking squads. I'd say we're around 5th or 6th favourites. We have quite a kind group although Sweden will be a big test today of where we're at. We should be beating Slovakia whilst Poland aren't bad but it's a must win if we have any chance of qualification.

Can see semi finals at best although it wouldn't surprise me if we don't get out of the group with it being group winners and best runner up to progress to the semis.

Squad wise, I have no idea why Rashford isn't going. It's another cock up by the FA. If Renato Sanches can travel for Portugal and Ascensio can travel for Spain, why can't he? On paper, it's an ok group but there's a lack of real first team experience at the top level in there.

I think team wise, I'd probably go something like:

--------------------Pickford

Stephens, Holgate, Holding, Targett

-------------Chalobah----JWP-----------

Gray--------------Baker-------Redmond

------------------Abraham-----------------

I don't really like that team though. There's an awful lot of defenders selected compared to midfield options. And the fact Cauley Woodrow is an option at all says it all.

Although it's nice to see Iorfa and Hause playing from a Wolves perspective, it does seem strange that they were selected. Iorfa has hardly played all season, and Hause only really played every other game. Surely we have a better pool to pick from?
