Nah Nah. 2 wins in 17. Sorry, that's just not good enough. Absolute shambles.

Congrats Exeter. Hope you beat Cambridge and get a great tie.

Problem is he's signed dross like Gilliead, Lavery and Robinson
Aye sack him and start again, hopefully everyone doesn’t want the next guy out after 16 games. Plans worked well last 4 years….

I wouldn't sack him (although wouldn't give a shit if he was) but the point is our recruitment has been dire for years and he seems no better at it.

It’s not the fully expected defeat it’s the predictably of it all - Being five mins from going through in the first game, having to travel a million miles down to Exeter on a Tuesday night for a replay nobody wanted, missing the one on one, hitting the bar to win the game in normal time, having to play another thirty minutes and only then do we go behind and finally lose. Plus Angol gets sent off.
I’m no where near Adams out, far from it, tonight’s heart ache is how the outcome of these two games could’ve been written the second the draw was made and how we’d make it as difficult as possible for ourselves along the way.

Great result that, sounds like we definitely rode our luck. But with the results we’ve had away from home this season you would have thought a result like that was coming at some point. Lincoln next round and I reckon we will take a shit load.

The magic's gone from high fantasy Lord of the Rings stuff to Dynamo fucking up routine card tricks in a Bradford back alley.

We've had our cup memories against Chelsea and the like so it's not like we can actually moan.

I would imagine you’ll get around 1800 tickets.

Tisdale said Jay was shiteeee
Now he's fucking dynamiteee
To be fair and in the interests of historical accuracy Tisdale said Jay had the best technical ability at the club. I'm pretty sure he never said Jay was "shite", but at that time he was still young and needed to develop and build strength. Now he's got that in his locker he doesnt just get smashed out of the game at this level and his natural ability can shine through.

Not sure the tongue in cheek song should be taken with that kind of literalness. He definitely didn't rate him enough and give him enough chances though, he may have blossomed earlier if he had.

At least 1000 if it's not on a Monday night as rumoured.

Used to work in Lincoln a bit. Cracking city centre, some great pubs. Should be a good day out if any of yous on here are going.

Definitely going to make the effort for this one, supposed to be moving to Lincoln through work after Christmas time so be interested in checking it out. Knocking them out and getting one of the big boys in the 3rd round would be a nice little bonus.

I’ve got a question for you or any other Exeter fan on here but don’t you get pissed off with your club? Reason being you always play good football and bring through good talents then flog them and where as it got you, league 2 for the last 8/9 years and league 1 seems to be your ceiling. If we had the likes of Oli Watkins, Matt Jay and the lad who went to Peterborough plus more we’d expect our club to be championship minimum. We are here due to incompetence at our club, you seem to have a good thing going on but never actually progress anywhere which in a way I’d find more frustrating. Seems like you get attached to a player then they’re gone by the following summer, as a fan I’d find that crap tbh unless we were at least at championship level not having to play league 2 cloggers every year.

No, not really. We are a smaller club than you so League One is our ceiling. Selling those players keeps us in a strong position financially, we have incrementally improved everything at the club, from the pitch to the training facilities and now the players.
I expect us to be there or thereabouts this season, hopefully we will go up and be able to challenge in L1.
But I'm realistic to know it won't last for ever, the supply of players will eventually dry up or other clubs will catch up, so quite happy to be a club challenging at the top of L2, with lots of home grown players who might bit be with us for too long, and a decent, loyal fan base who buy into what is happening down here

What Denzel said really. It is frustrating seeing our players go all the time, but it has put us in a good position financially, we've improved the ground and training facilities with the money and are setting the foundations very well. When we do go up, and I do think it'll be this year, we should be able to be a proper league one club and compete this time around for a few years, before eventually and hopefully getting up into the Championship. We've had debt to clear with a lot of the sales, we spread player sales three ways. Infrastructure/academy/budget(over 3 years). So £1m doesn't go very far towards our actual playing budget when divided by three twice. But hopefully that'll increase now we've got all the foundations sorted.

In answer to Wilsden Bantam:
Back in May 2002 we had a couple of so-called "sugar daddies" invited into our club, bringing with them big dreams and huge promises (even though both had bad "previous" in the football business - Scarborough and Swansea)
Twelve months later relegation (and possible bankruptcy) beckoned for the club - and, ultimately, guilty court appearances for the gruesome twosome.
It is only because the ECFC Trust was organised and ready to step in and keep the club going...well that plus, a couple of years on, the Man Utd FAC windfall...that we are still here today.
Selling on the best prospects is an inevitable fact of life for most lower league clubs nowadays. Annoying though it can be it is an income stream as vital as gate money and sponsorship.
The subject of Trust ownership is still one that can divide the fanbase, but my own view is that (having stared oblivion in the face) it is still probably the least-worst option for a club like ours.

Being trust owned has feck all to do with it. You just like the model because it's the closest to the hammer and sickle you'll ever get. Even if we had a rich sugar daddy, he'd still sell our most valuable assets when we receive big money offers.
