We were by far the better team yet once again, just can’t score in a brothel. How Taylor Perry missed at the end I don’t know.

The scum can have that one, 15 years in non league will be forever engraved in their history, therefore always be a smaller club than us. Worst away fans I’ve seen when it’s been a sell out away end. Silence until they scored and even then they were shite.

Atleast the gobshites got a good hiding outside the pub. 1-0 to the EBF.

I can almost hear the tears stream down your cheek as you typed that second paragraph

The better team by far? with the exception of Dunkley you were rubbish. Shrewsbury just about shaded the first half but we were comfortable in the second, and that's without playing very well. Considering you are a division above us you looked worse than half of league Two. It was nice to go to your come to your new ground and leave with a win like we used to do at Gay Meadow.

See you next year for six points. Now go to bed, you'll have cows to milk in the morning.

What he said got under your skin? See you next season. I never knew Shrewsbury/ Wrexham was so hostile.

Great job done by Blackpool and Bolton today. Good luck with seeing if can win the replays. Got to think there’s a decent shout of it. Same for Rovers yesterday.

Shrewsbury played just like the pub teams we've been playing for 15 years. Any free kick in their own half just gets punted 60 yards forward by the keeper, every player in the team about 6 foot 4. It shocked me how shite they are.

I was surprised at how poor Shrewsbury were. Anti-football. It was like watching Cambridge under John Beck. Only one team actually tried to pass the ball and it wasn’t them. Pure hoof-ball conducted by a weird menagerie of donkeys. I honestly think they’d be relegated in league 2.

Thought the goal summed up the Shrewsbury vs Wrexham game, it wasn't great (perhaps not aided by listening to the commentary in what I assume was Welsh because the red button wasn't working!).

Shrewsbury better first half but Wrexham a bit more comfortable in the second, although I thought over the 90 minutes the former created the better chances overall and should have put at least one of them away.

Lee was the best player on the pitch, probably followed by Dunkley and Evans (I think it was Evans anyway).

looking forward to more of the Shrews/Wxm top bantz next season in L1, there just aren’t enough proper bitchfights in the third tier right now.

Posh v Cambridge would be one but there aren’t any PUFC on here, maybe Wigan Bolton but there aren’t any Wigan…?

Carlisle v Carlisle is about as feisty as we get at the moment.

The bbc highlights showed it as all Shrewsbury and had plenty of chances to win from what I could see. Some dreadful finishing.

They did have some good chances - fortunately they couldn’t hit a barn door. But their style of play was really bad. We’ve been in the National League for 15 years and in all that time I’ve not seen a team resort to the long ball quite like that.

Sobowale, Dunkley, Benning (hitting bar), Perry x2 should all have been goals. You had one chance and took it thanks to a lucky deflection.

You’ll never erase those 15 years, big stain on your history and that is a fact. I’ll look forward to next year where hopefully we’ll have a better manager by then and somebody capable to put the ball in the net. Shame Udoh was injured for this game but we’ve had no luck with injuries this year.

As for being a division above you, bit irrelevant when your budget dwalfs ours and most others in League One. Oh and you have played at the ‘new ground’ on one occasion in the past. It was when we all but condemned you to non league football for 15 years with a 3-0 win. Footage of that game is most probably in black and white unfortunately it’s been that long.

Sounds like enough needle to a neutral.

Obviously Wrexham have a 'big one' in fellow Welsh based club Chester, but that's not looking on the menu for a while, so are Salop and Wrexham made for each other? Could be the case, I guess, not a lot between them in the nitty gritty,

Chester will see us as rivals. Feelings mutual to them. However personally Shrewsbury is the main one along with some of the Shropshire Reds, naturally.

Shrewsbury will always vote us as their main derby, no matter how long its been since we played them last. They need us more than we need them.

Nice to beat them on their own cabbage patch again.

Technically speaking it’s actually correct as think the Deva Stadium itself or part at least is over the Welsh border.

Shrewsburys derby is surely Telford - if ever they can get their act together. I think perhaps Walsall as well has a bit of needle ?

Im not the biggest Shrewsbury fan but the Wrexham reaction to their win on "X" seems a bit classless, no wonder Billy Sharp got annoyed with them last season!

I think you need to have some sort of history with a team for there to be a rivalry. As the Salop fan said, other than the 4 games in the early 00s, they've never played Telford.

It's like us with Gloucester City - for myself and people my age and older they are our real rivals, but we've not played them in a competitive game for 25/26 years now so the majority of our fanbase simply don't have that hatred of them.

It was their cup final, we’ll let them have it after 15 years in the basement. Their fans are bordering cocky and arrogant and not confident at this point with everything going on. Nothing in life lasts forever though, it’ll all come crashing down one day and it’ll be wonderful to witness.

Telford hate us more than we hate them. The four games we played against them in our Conference season were full on hatred but mainly from their end. I know of a couple of Telford fans who talk about us more than their own club which is bizzare, especially as we’ll never play them again unless it’s in the FA Cup. They’ll never get to the football league though unless they come into some serious money like Wrexham have.

I’d consider our main rivals as:-
1) Wrexham
2) Walsall
3) Wolves

Port Vale I don’t see as a rivalry, Crewe games have always been fairly friendly and no issues. Chester games always carry a bit of needle to them I’ll give them that. Hereford games were always up there with my favourites too, but doubt we’ll play them anytime soon unfortunately. We’ve not played Birmingham/West Brom/Villa in donkeys years but I’ve heard from the older supporters that they used to be the best, especially when they would come down Gay Meadow.

I had a lot of time for Wrexham, their fans were very supportive when we nearly went to the wall, and we will never forget that. Like us, they suffered in the National league and more than did their time in that hell hole. As a club they deserved to get out and get a chance to re-establish in the league. But I think the whole circus around them is threatening to take away a certain level of respect from the rest of the football world, and they must realise even with money getting securely re-established is hard. We are getting there but it’s such a different ball game when you’ve been away for so long. Don’t take it for granted too soon or there will tears.

Hereford doing well this year - might get up to the conference. Be good to have them back. It’s a good away day as central in the city.

This is the issue I've had with Wrexham, I follow a number of their fans on social media and they went from being really grounded to arrogant fucks at the drop of a hat. It's like they've completely forgotten the situation they were in that led to them ending up in non-league, etc...

By all means, enjoy the ride, but do so with a modicum of humility.

I should point out that this isn't all Wrexham fans of course.

There is background to it. One of Shrewsbury’s players did an interview last week with the BBC basically saying Wrexham are a small club, this was their big day out, they were a semi-pro team last season so Shrewsbury would win and some other stuff. I think it went down quite badly at the club, hence the references to it after the game.

Personally I find it quite funny - if the shoe had been on the other foot and we had belittled an opponent from a lower league and then lost I’d expect similar and find it humorous.

It was a bit odd when we played them in the BSM as their commentary team referred to their 2-1 win as a "Giant Killing" ... we had 7 youth players on, were beating them until they threw on the big guns but you'd think they'd beaten us in an FA Cup tie at full pelt.

As a club you'd see them as one that probably has fans that deserve success but they seem to be OTT with the arrogance. Just seems a massive circus with it all.

Not a fan of the comms team, continuously cock up every name going. Even getting our players wrong! It infuriates me somewhat. After being non-league for so many years and being screwed over by so many vultures circling our club and the threat of covid killing us off, this take over has given us a new lease of life. I make no apologies for us enjoying it, but i'd rather this than no club at all, or still languishing in the depths of non league to keep said vultures away.
