Someone shite away please. Like, probably a bad L2 or L1 side rather than some of those evil sons of the banana skin. :bdick:

Just someone non-league would be nice, last two years most of our cup draws have been awful and we've ended up having to play teams better than us.

I dare say most of us would want a team from below the Conference, so here are the ones that are through. Any of these please (pictures of home grounds included to gauge tinpotness

Chesham United (Southern League Premier - level 7)

There's a few more in with a chance of progressing. Brackley Town (NLN - 6) and Maidenhead United (NLS - 6) have replays against League opposition to get through, Northwich Victoria (NLN - 6) have to replay against Boreham Wood, while FC United (NLN - 6) play on Monday, but none of these will be known before the draw.

Salford and Stourbridge stand out as pretty tinpot, so I would prefer either of those. While Salford will get us a bit more attention, and maybe even on telly, Stourbridge feels more tinpot... the whiff of Class of '92 around Salford, and their plans for a fancy new stadium makes them seem like a small-club wearing big-club clothing, a lad off the estate who's just won the lottery and bought himself an Armani suit if you will. Stourbridge are just tinpot through and through... also Karl Hawley.

Boreham Wood, although only one division below us these days and in need of a replay, and utterly horrific as a club and set of fans would be interesting, just as we have a score to settle. They can change in a Portakabin if they come back to Brunton... and if we draw them and they don't get through, we'll take Northwich Victoria as a consolation prize.

I'd like a non-league side at home, Salford preferably. Failing that, anyone at home, and if it's away, I just hope it's not another trek.

You lot wanting Salford are mentalists, no-one wants to be the next Notts County, and whoever they get in the next round, they will have pretty much every football fan rooting for them other than those who really really hate the "class of 92".

Far rather make it through the next round with little to no hype or hoopla.

If we get through then anyone from the Conference at home. Our home form is pretty below average but I'd fancy our chances against a part time outfit. Don't really want to have to go to a place like Salford where it's going to be tough.

Providing we win the replay anyway.

Surely nobody can perform as poorly as Notts County did and while I like a non-league cup fairy-tale, I dislike when the media circus goes in overdrive though, so while part of me wanted Salford to get through to give us a chance of getting them, part of me wanted County to shut the media up. I wanted Hartlepool to beat Blyth Spartans for the same reason last year.

If I were a Mansfield fan then I'd be dreading drawing Salford... it would be money-where-your-mouth-is time.

As with anyone else, I want a sub-Conference side at home. Not that it would guarantee us a win but it'd give us a decent chance.

The only other tie I want is Peterborough away. I call it everytime we're both in a draw together.

We'll get Chesterfield and then lose the replay anyway.
They need to get past the mighty FCUM first, and we all know the FA would wet themselves at the following set of circumstances
  1. FCUM/Chesterfield are drawn to face Salford
  2. FCUM beat Chesterfield
  3. The FCUM v Salford game is on Monday night, after the draw (again)
  4. FCUM/Salford are drawn away to Manchester United before they play
  5. The FCUM v Salford game is now, winner plays ManU... every ManU fan in the country wets themselves with anticipation and tunes in.

Wouldn't mind you lot taking the posh bullet... means HG doesn't have to flush his season-ticket down the toilet again. Also my desire to play Peterborough has gone from minimal to zero now that they're a Westley side.

If we draw the scum it will be unfathomable carnage.

Personally, Salford or FCUM away would be ace. Otherwise, another one like we got last time, then a 3rd round money spinner (greedy I know) so when Nigel Clough Chris Wilder Former England Manager Peter Taylor gets appointed he's got some cash to play with.

I'm on a high still from yesterday (and our impending takeover) so I really cannot wait for the draw (until it's Carlisle away)

Stourbridge at home please. Always wanted the scum but don't this time because of the mess we are and they're actually doing alright at the moment, so we will undoubtedly draw them this time.

Chesham home or away will be cool. Any of the non leaguers I'd take to be honest.

Reckon we'll draw Wycombe for some reason.

is that a serious option?

To be fair, I only saw you once under Money, and don't recall you being more negative than any other L2 side - but if Money still gets his sides playing as negatively as he did in charge of Walsall, then Taylor would certainly provide continuity in that vein.

I thinkTaylor actually has one of the highest number of promotions under his belt in league football, but ye gads, do you ever pay for it in terms of suffering some of the dullest football known to man.

He has the rare distinction whereby if he's managing your club, you won't actually want to go ahead in the game, because if you do, that'll most likely be the last thing resembling football you'll see in the game, and then it'll be like you've got 10 holding midfielders in the outfield, doing nothing but breaking up opposition play. Oh the memories.

I really hope it's not, and it's not a name anyone's put any real credit to so far. There was an article out of the blue on the Daily Mail (of all places) saying he may be in the running. (http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...Peter-Taylor-runner-Cambridge-United-job.html).

Personally I'd be be pretty disappointed if there was anything in it. Some of our preferred targets are probably a little unrealistic, or inconvenient. We'll find out soon.

Someone dogshit at home. Whitehawk or Barnet or somesuch. Doubt we'll get that lucky two rounds in a row, mind - probably end up at somewhere horrific like Scunthorpe or Oldham/Mansfield.

Bury fans are still weird as ever. I was on their forums just now, seeing if they had anything enlightening to say about Hallam Hope. I did get to reading their discussion of who they want in the second round. They have so many exciting options being in Greater Manchester. They could get Salford and bring Gary Neville back to his home-town... or F.C. United back to the place it all began for them, or any number of local smaller teams such as Altrincham or Northwich... so who do they want?

Sheffield United!

Why?

They feel they have the beating of them and it would be an easier game than a non-league team.

BURY FANS!

I'd take Salford away. Given some of the crap draws we've had in the past, we could do with making some money out of a cup tie and it would be nailed on for a TV game.

I'd definitely be happy with Salford away, regardless of it being on TV. Any League 2 club worth their salt should be able to outclass such a low side pretty comfortably. I'd like us to be the ones to crush the class of 92's hopes as well.

I'd rather see Salford knocked out by another non league side than give them more exposure.
