Charlton away for us today in the cup. I think there's very little ground between us losing and us thrashing them, really gonna depend on who gets the first goal and what sort of team we put out, with a lot of players just returning from injuries and/or covid and confidence being at an all-time low throughout the squad.

We are truly woeful. This is 100% Charlton's for the taking if they can get a decent effort on goal and get past Krul.

That’s a hell of a win for us, what a performance. Obviously we had to rely on Mitov pulling off a string of excellent saves but the defensive resolve was incredible, the players made it so hard for Newcastle to get clean shots off. Heart was in my mouth during the VAR review but fortunately it stood. Love Joe Ironside, what a man.

Just an epic day. I’m gutted not to have been able to go but I’d rather to have not been there and we won than the opposite!

In terms of the fourth round draw there’s four options which appeal really:

- Borehamwood, Kiddy or Hartlepool at home as we’d have a decent chance of making the next round.
- Spurs, Chelsea, Arsenal away as they’d be massive money spinners and it’s a doddle to get to. Liverpool away too as we’ve never played them before (we’ve played the other three) and the financials too.
- Someone like Norwich or Everton away, EPL clubs who have been pony for basically.
- Peterborough home or away. No justification needed.

If we draw someone like Plymouth away it’d be gutting!
Fed up of being drawn away, so home please. If away any of the big six.

Awful game between two awful teams.

Getting a bit boring always coming second in these types of games.

Thought we'd seen the back of Luton after playing them about 500 times in the years before they got their shit together. Uninspiring but better than most other Championship teams I guess.

Stoke away. Could probably count on one hand the number of worse draws we could have got than that.

Winnable .

Might get on TV unless they want to show all the big boys at home .

Agreed Superhorns - it's winnable I guess and there's a chance the game will be on the box as the only stand out game out of the lot is Kiddy v West Ham.

It could've been worse is what I'm thinking but otoh it's Luton who we'll meeting again for what seems like the 100th time in the last 12 years.

Joked today with a mate that we would draw Cambridge away, felt like a few years ago we played in every competition going and it had been too long! So sorry maybe I spoke it into existence.

Winnable game for you lot and it’s at home so there’s that I guess. Probably beat us and draw United like last time!

I’m disappointed not to get a bigger team but relieved we’re not away to Cardiff (no fans), Plymouth, Middlesbrough etc. It’s at home and, though very tough, definitely winnable. The last cup game against Luton was a cracking tie. You never know with our side at the moment.

I think they’ll pick the big teams at home as they’ll get more viewers frankly - aside from Cambridge fans, Luton fans and fans like some of the posters on here (interested in football outside the EPL), no one will be interested in us v Luton. But I don’t care, 3pm on a Saturday suits me fine.

Spot on with the last point. Playing Sunday 1230 today was rubbish, let’s hope for a Saturday 3pm!

Back to reality after an epic wk end in Newcastle, still can’t believe we won now, just an unreal feeling and Saturday in Newcastle was absolutely awesome after the game, Newcastle were very gracious about us after the match but still can’t believe how quiet they were during the match although I was told by season ticket holder that it was because they didn’t have they’re usual seats.

As for the the 4th round draw, just utter shit.

Sad to read - always some idiots at away games I guess.

Particularly when you take so many.

Neither the Cambridge or Plymouth games on live TV but I guess they could be on the Red Button etc?

BBC gone for the glamour ties with ITV going for the likes of Man U, Liverpool and Spurs for the ratings.

I assume Chelsea might be attractive to ESPN’s international audience, so maybe we’ll have a 5.30 KO like we did against Brum.

I can see why Cambridge v Luton isn't televised - not exactly a glamour tie.. but Plymouth have been shafted there, there's is potentially the best tie of the round.

Not helped by closure to the M4 both ways from Friday night onwards. We are looking at all sorts of options, but I suspect we’ll go by coach, which will be a blooming early start. Let’s hope, unlike with Brum, we finish them off within the 90 minutes and we don’t have to to go to extra time :)

Someone on the Cambridge board said £30k. Not a lot but it’ll fund part of a player (or a loan for the second half of the season).

I’m not unhappy about it being 5.30, should be a cracking atmosphere and a couple more hours drinking time to prepare!
