Aldershot down to 10 men - another one of their thugs sent off. Hilariously, from the resulting free-kick East Thurrock scored. 1-2. That in itself must be the most Aldershot thing ever.

Literally can't remember the last time we beat a team from the division below.

Aldershot 3 East Thurrock United 4. The ref's fault, obviously.

Excellent news, the list of matches containing only relegation threatened and lower league sides goes up to SEVEN, if we win tomorrow it's half the draw!

We got what we deserved for playing a weakened, sorry "rotated" team tonight. The Gavin Ward show didn't help (I thought Saville's red was harsh as their player was going away from goal) but that doesn't excuse our defending for the 3rd and 4th goals which was non-existent.

Anyway, that's our season over. Can we just fast forward to next July?

Gavin Ward was one of the referees Rovers always hoped to avoid in our league days. It doesn't sound like he's improved any on this guest NL appearance

Ah, the "Belgrano" defence. Excellent. Worked for Maggie, go for it. :bdick:

He's reffed us a few times down the years, and every time makes it the Gavin Ward show. Seem to remember he reffed us on Boxing Day v Southend, completely lost the game and luckily for him (and us) the lights went out.
So frustrated about last nights result. Roll on next season.

Still a month to the game. Still loads of time to turn your form around

When even is it? Will go if I'm off work. If not, oh well.

I've lost a lot of my interest in Fleet this season and, to an extent, football in general.

I agree he is a fussy fucker, but I'm not sure what he did wrong in that game, the only real decision he has was to send Darren Jones of for sparking Liam Dickenson out with the sweetest right hook I've seen in a long time.

Jonah = FGR LEGEND. :bow::10:

Absolute top lad, and a brilliant defender.

He is that, but I don't think my liver can take another night out with him.:eye:

Back to last night, I can't take anything away from East Thurrock, they were well organised and have some decent players. Kane Ferdinand is coming back from a serious knee injury there and was outstanding, Sam Higgins up from won the Ryman Golden Boot last year and with 12 in 11 this certainly knows where the net is, he was superb in both games. Coupled with 2 decent centre backs and an excellent keeper they have a good spine, can see them beating Braintree, especially on their own (cabbage) patch.

Aldershot STILL yet to lose a game that wasn't the refs fault and we're in December. Must be some kind of record.

We've been drawn away (as we usually are), to one of 2 plucky northern part timers, Witton or Chester. It will definitely add spice to their replay as a potential "cup final" is now on the line.

Got the replay at Truro to smash tomorrow night first of course.
Witton Albion and Chester are both proper football teams, something FGR can't say.

127 years of proud history and progression, both stadiums built with the help of supporters. Same club that was formed in 1889, playing in virtually the same place.

Why aren't we as proper as a club formed 6 years ago, or Witton?

Anyone else playing out tonight? Wandering down to our game v Harrogate soon, expecting a dismal affair in front of 500 people.
Hopefully we'll have a good 9,500 more when we play the final next spring.

Gavin Ward was his usual self last night and although I thought Saville's red was a bit harsh as their player was going away from goal, he didnt cost us the game. Waddock did that with his team selection!

should be interesting tonight v Harrogate;- there's a virus going round the squad and we've had to make 4 changes;-
Ross Hannah in for Byron Harrison, Haworth in for Williams, Akil wright in for Yates and Euan Murray in for Danny Livesey...
Harrison is the only one fit enough to make the bench...

Because you're a hobby club, only where you are because you're bankrolled. You were relegation escapees 3 times and if on only one of those occasions you'd gone you'd have ended up where you rightly belong which is between Steps 8 and 9, which is what will happen when Swampy ups sticks a la R & D.

Apologies to R & D for using you has an example.
