I understand you perfectly, chum(p)- unfortunately you're talking complete bollocks. You claim nobody gave a fuck about the FA Trophy, but utterly fail to grasp that your claim is fatally undermined by the TWELVE. THOUSAND. fish-fuckers who made a FOUR. HUNDRED. MILE round trip to watch a game YOU claim they didn't give a fuck about. I have now used up my daily allowance for humouring idiots on this post alone, and for that reason ONLY, I'm done here. Bye. :ds:
You know he's TRIGGERED when he's using CAPS and resorting to personal insults. Those 12,000 people went for a day out in London. Loads were still down there from the playoff final. I know it was the greatest day in your club's 15 year history so I'm not saying this to rile you but we genuinely did not really give a shit about it. Of course it would have been preferable to win, but we won the match down there that mattered. Tens of thousands of Prem fans go watch the Charity Shield every season, are you saying if they lose that having won the title a few months before then they're really arsed about it? Of course they're not.

We have COVID on top of our injuries but had 17 train yesterday for Sunday’s slog journey to Plymouth to play Truro. COVID is unreal down these parts barely know a household that hasn’t got it now, unlike before the whole house is getting infected with this strain before it was hit and miss. My guess is we will play Truro and have a case on the team coach down with Dover getting postponed. I really cant tell you how bad it is down here, rife is an absolute understatement.

I knew of about 10 fans going down but all now can’t go due to COVID except 1, supporters coach cancelled. Oh the joy.

It was top work to be fair.

But is it bad that I was totally ready to believe it of Chesterfield? James Rowe is history's greatest villain.
Probably not, I can see why folk looking in from the outside might not like JR all that much and the club has made a few negative headlines. He's got the keys to the city round these parts though, certified legend

If he gets you up then its absolutely worth it- particularly given where you were a shirt time ago. I have to grudgingly admit it looks less like a fluke now and he probably knows what he is doing!

The only problem with that kind of thing is I’ve seen it work both ways if the winning stops, people then use that ‘obnoxiousness’, for want of a better word, against the manager and a stick to beat him with. Billy Davies at Forest and Steve Evans at Mansfield being two local examples.

Yep, it's absolutely rife all over London. I personally know about 20 people that all have it right now. It's the worst it's been by a long way, thankfully symptoms seem to be mild with Omicron so hopefully it stays that way.

He doesn’t take defeat graciously does he but he’s a born winner. He’s had a few sour post match interviews particularly last season but proof is in the pudding and his record since coming in is unbelievable really.

Agree with that. London based myself and know of loads of mates that have it. Father in law has it. But as you say, all of those cases are fortunately mild symptoms (some don’t even have symptoms just did LFTs following being in presence of someone else who ended up being positive). Optimistic that Omicron becomes dominant virus if symptoms are on the whole mild.

Yep you might be right there, things always seem rosier when you're winning and that's all Rowe has done since he come in. He's done quite a lot to get on the right side of fans off the pitch though as well, getting involved in the Trust charity work, quite active on Twitter, and seems to have a genuine affection for the club, tearing up nearly when we beat Salford and got Chelsea, although that might also be the relative youth in him as well to be fair. Fans love his shithousery as well; making out players are injured then playing them, announcing signings on match day that go straight into the team that's probably been a done deal for days. We've missed that recent year's, been a pushover of a club. He took our club staring down the pit of non-existence and gave us something to be proud of again for the first time in years. I think would take a long period of shitness or a few things miss-said to turn the fans on him I reckon.

There’s no doubt he seems to have reinvigorated a club that appeared to badly need it.

Bit beneath you, is it? Worthless trophy for tin-potters?…
It’s a trophy of worth to those who value it. Can obviously see why many clubs value it but when your priority is to get out of this league im not going to pretend to care about it, nor are many of our fans and that’s reflected in our attendances for Trophy games.

There is only a handful of clubs that can realistically throw money at getting out of this League. The rest would be quite happy with a good run in the Trophy and a possible trip to Wembley.

And that's great, for those clubs.

They’re probably waiting on test results before calling Tuesday off - our tweet saying we were in dialogue with them and would let people know as soon as we could pretty much gave the game away, would be amazed if it went ahead.

As others have said, it’s clearly a very big game for both teams and a midweek four days before Christmas when half the country is likely to be isolating is a very shit time to play it, so not sure anyone will be too upset other than BT Sport.

Maybe not, league have told us that there’s no reason for Tuesday to be off. Weird one. :err:

Have they?

According to Burchnall. Said in his pre-match for the Trophy game something alone the lines of “we’ve spoken to the league and they’ve told us that there’s no reason for the game to be called off currently, so we’ll keep preparing as normal”.

Fair enough. We’ve shifted another 300 or so home tickets since the FA trophy postponement and with no announcement today prior to the weekend - I’m expecting our game to go ahead.

Enough about that on this thread though.

Alfreton travel to fellow National League North side Curzon in the probably the lowest attended tie of the round. Just hope we can get through.
Except possibly for Larkhall v AFC Totton.

Why the fuck did we make an announcement yesterday about the ongoing discussions, but then say nowt today?? Some of us have to make/change plans…

I rung up Chesterfield today, had the shit scared out of me when I thought James Rowe had answered the phone, thankfully just a recorded greeting. Felt about as welcomed as Boris Johnson at a rubber johnny convention. Does anybody ever answer the fucking phone at that club?

Yeh you're better off emailing them asking for a chat and then letting them ring you back when they can. Most of the staff are busy all day in the shop and ticket office apparently.
