But I don't remember their whole style of play revolving around him in this way. I'm not saying they were Barcelona, but they had more about them than punting it to Fellaini at every opportunity.

Everton usually had Tim Cahill playing just off the striker, with Fellaini sort of box to box slightly behind iirc.

This is what I'm getting at. United seemed to be of the mindset that Fellaini on the pitch automatically results in long hopeful balls. His time at Everton proved that he is capable of more than that, and I think United could be using him to much better effect, which would ultimately benefit the team as well.

He did, but at a different, lower with less expected of him tbh. When Cahill left in 2012, Fellaini was moved forward then & scored significantly more than he had before and Everton were noticeably more direct I thought. United then signed him the summer of 2013...

I think its time to move RVP on, but United fans should be satisfied with him. He pretty much won the league for them.

Yeah RVP has been one of key players for United.

I'm not denying that Fellaini brings that to the table, and in certain situations it makes absolute sense to utilise him in that way. I'm just not sure United have always played in such a way that gets the best out of him.

I didn't see today's game, but the text commentary were raving about the performance of both Fellaini, and also the football played by the entire team. Maybe they've finally found a way to play that suits the individual and the team.

A lot of our play in Moyes final season revolved around using Fellaini's height, strength and excellent chest control. Before then he was used further back. I think he's best used as a centre mid who is allowed to make runs forward, but playing as a target man for plan B or against certain opposition can yield good results too

If Falcao had signed a season long loan deal with Liverpool, he'd be the talk of the town in places like Madrid, Munich and Barcelona.
It's amazing how United now have the ability to make world class players look ordinary.

Despite his troubles at United, I would still take Falcao on a loan deal next season, if he were willing.

Yeah because you've done so well reinvigorating Balotelli's career haven't you...

Balotelli doesn't suit our style of play. Falcao does.
Unfortunately Falcao is finished. I'd like to blame Man United for his form, but the guy hasn't recovered from his injury and maybe never will.

I agree. Watching him it is clear that his legs have gone, there's not much United can do about it. In his prime he'd have fitted in fantastic but now he's not cut out for the pace and intensity of the Prem.

Falcao' agent: 'He is not happy; we cry together." How a man of LVG's character cannot handle a player of Falcao's caliber will always be a mystery.

LVG needs a striker who can perform at the highest level now whilst he is in his first season and under scrutiny. He doesn't have the time to try to nurture a player from injury back to his best when he has other more viable options. If Falcao had been a world class defender in his pomp then he'd have been given more of a chance this season.

You won't even give the "best young player in Europe" or the heir to Slippy G what they want. You aren't going to give Falcao £300k a week.
An Evertonian telling us we can't afford something? lol.

Lol I think he will play for anyone after his treatment at United.

Answer me this - if he was at Liverpool displaying the same form he has at United would you urge Rodgers to play him or bench him?

Brodge would bring the best out of Falcao if he could recover from his injury and not be abandoned unlike where he currently is and playing with the shit he currently has as team mates... :fish:
