Just getting bored with every club in the championship referring to us as from derby ...

DCFC is an institution across the east midlands ... we've more 'fans' outside the city of derby than in it .... From Ashbourne to Burton , from Bakewell to Buxton, from Bolsover to Melbourne .... we extract 'fans' ....

This 'English' idea that all 'fans' of a franchise come from the city and nowhere else is so quaint ....

My world does not end within these four walls, Slough's a big place. And when I've finished with Slough, there's Reading, Aldershot, Bracknell, you know, I've got Didcott, Yately. Winnersh. Taplow.

I don't think anyone thinks that Derby's support is confined to the walls of Derby itself. I think everyone realises that there are fans of almost every club in the wider county that the city of the club is based in.

No one is debating that Bakewell is not ''Derby till it dies''

Stupid fucking thread.

I know I feel the same. When someone refers to me as being "from Brentford" I get really pissed off.

Though if it is true that you must live in the place that the team you support is named after, I would not want to be a Ramsbottom United fan.

Or Rotherham. Obviously.

And fans extract heat, it's all one big cycle.

257280 people live in Rotherham according to the 2011 census.
I wish 10% of them would show an interest in the club.
Be struggling for a ticket though.

English football INTERNET fans live in the dark ages ...

Football clubs extract their fanbase from beyond the city's or towns they are associated with ...

We move into Staffs, Notts, Lestah and ofcourse Derbyshire ...

If I see another post saying Derby is a small town doing well with it's support I will fcuking scream . lol lol

You'd be struggling with 10%? We have nigh on a Million people in the metropolitan Bristol area. The new Gate might need a slight extension! :eyes:
For a City of Bristols' size, the public support of the 2 football clubs and the egg chasers is pretty poor, we admit that.:ffs:

I'm coming to the conclusion you are an idiot. :milk:

I remember when Rammy used to use the dancing milk as his profile picture thing.

Those were the days before he'd tasted power iirc.

The thing is that Derby really isn't a huge place and given that many people around Burton and Mansfield are going to be Sheff Weds fans, obviously, then DCFC have done remarkably well for a club with a very small catchment area.

In many respects, Derby are the new MK Dons, building from the bottom up with a really cracking stadium, a good Cockney manager, defenders with exotic American wives, community spirit.

I think that Derby really can expand beyond the Derwent and the A6 if they boost their community work. Personally, I'd like to see a DCFC TV channel, a wider range of leisurewear in the shop perhaps including more slacks and belts, and diaries.
