The Old Showground to watch Scunthorpe v Lincoln. Quite a few Grimsby fans there too if I remember rightly, those games against the Iron were often a bit naughty in those days.

Aldershot in the second leg of the Trophy semi final. Great scenes that day.

Mine would have been Dagenham's ground to see Barnet play Clapton in the FA Cup in 90/91, back in the days when we often had to enter the FA Cup in the 1st qualifying round. Back then for non-league clubs, where you entered in the FA Cup wasn't down to your position in the non-league pyramid but how well you had performed in previous FA Cup tournaments. If you had a good record, no matter what level you were at, you would be exempted to the 4th qualifying round. If you reached the FA Trophy final or if you were picked by the FA as an especially deserving case, you would be exempted to the 1st round proper. Our FA Cup performances were pretty undistinguished for a Conference Premier club so we usually had to start at the 1st qualifying round.
Dagenham's ground looked a bit different back then as well. There was grassy hill and some wasteland behind what's now the away end. The game was a bit frustrating because although we had 99% of the possession we only scored two goals when it should have been several more. The Clapton side (who were several levels below us) had a few of the stereotypical fat overweight part-time footballers as well.
Paul Harding should have played for us in that match (which was held on a Sunday and at Dagenham so as to not clash with a potentially troublesome West Ham vs Wolves match on the Saturday) but had apparently been out for a few beverages too many and was not in a fit state to play. We ended up selling him to Notts County, who gained promotion to Division 1 that season. He was an integral part of the Notts County squad that got to the quarter-finals of the cup and faced Spurs at White Hart Lane in that match. His task was to man-mark Gazza, something he did pretty well but Gazza used of all his genius to inspire Spurs to a 2-1 win, which included him scoring a fantastic free-kick that was every bit as good as the famous one he scored in the semi-final against Arsenal at Wembley.

Southbury Road, home of Enfailed, New Years Day 1990. Geoff Cooper scored a great free kick and Dave Regis and Frankie Murphy scored the other 2 in a 3-1 win.

Not sure it counts as away as it was before I decided to support Barnet. Hendon FC, Claremont road 1973. Otherwise I think it's Brentford in 1991

Stonebridge Road, lost 1-0 to Gravesend in the 1979/80 season. Everything else about that game has been lost in the sands of time...

With FGR it was Oxford Utd away in March 2007, for our only win against them in the league, thanks to two goals from Danny Carey-Bertram. It might not come as much of a surprise to anyone who has visited the Kassam, and seen their team win, to hear that many of the locals did not take defeat graciously. I still rate that game in my top five with Rovers...maybe we should have a thread along those lines!

I am not 100% certain, but i think it was Blackpool ground back in 1992, the reason i am unsure is i also went to Wigan in the cup and cannot remember whether it was 1991 or 1992 as we played them twice away back-to-back and i only went to one of them.

I think it was blackpool, on a tuesday, my dad drove and we got hammered 6-0.

Think mine was the Baseball Ground, we got hammered 5-0 and I got absolutely drenched because we stood on a terrace with no shelter. Strangely enough the last time we played Derby a couple of seasons ago at Pride Park it was the exact same scoreline. Probably give it a miss next time we get Derby away in the cup!

Blimey, that makes me feel really good about our 4-3 home defeat to Derby in the Cup a few years ago, though it has to be mentioned that they were pretty pants at the time. Ironically we have just re-signed Darren Jones, the player who committed the foul that gave them a penalty to secure their win.

Peterborough late 90's (first one I can remember anyway) we lost 3-0 in a play-off 2nd leg.

Edgar Street about a million years ago in the 70's. Still remains my favourite away ground to this day. Will probably go to Herefords first league game there this year just to renew the acquaintance.

Does Wembley count? If so then it would be the FA Trophy Final in 1998 when we beat Southport 1-0.

If not, then Roots Hall for the last game of the season in 2000. We lost 2-1 and missed out on the Playoffs in our first Football League season by a point. Funnily enough that was seen as success at the time, two seasons ago that would have been seen as failure, such is the fickleness of our fanbase these days.

Blackpool, in the FA Cup 2nd round, December 1985.

Away non-league ground will have been Northwich at the Drill Field, probably the same season.

Although I went to my first home game in 1972, my first away game wasn't until 1979 for a 5th Round League Cup replay at Molyneux when we drew 1 all. Gary Liddell who recently passed away scored for us with Andy Gray equalising. Next away game was 1 week later in the 2nd replay (who remembers them?) at Derby's Baseball Ground when we lost 2-0.

I remember an FA trophy tie in the late 80s between Altrincham and Fisher Athletic, which was eventually decided on the 3rd replay. Seems hard to fathom these days doesn't it?

We had an FA Trophy tie against Boston that had to go to a second replay at a neutral ground.
Boston showed what great sports they were by suggesting Peterborough as a neutral venue!
Thankfully, sense prevailed and we won the replay at Cambridge Utd.

Away at Hull, around '03 I think. First derby game at the KC Stadium, won 1-0, Bimson penalty around the hour mark in front of the away fans.

Pretty sure the ref was a young Mark Clattenburg.

My next was Ninnan Park in '91, won that 2-1, opening day of the season.
