1-0 Salford - ‘89 min!

We’re just so fucking soft. I don’t know whether it’s complacency or just thinking we’re automatically better than the opposition, but it ain’t good enough.

Not securing that allusive striker before the window closed looks like it really will come back to bite us.

Absolutely brilliant. Great way to bounce back after last week. Well done to DC and the team.

Have to see if we can back it up better against Harrogate next week.

Much better second half from us to claim the win. Everyone stepped up, more intensity about us.

What a tackle from Zaine Francis Angol on Antony Evans when he was clean through. He's really grown into that centre half role. MOTM for me.

Two aways coming up at Sutton and Oldham. On paper no better chance to get off the mark away from the Vic.

Everyone predicting this team to finish top 3! :fl:

I know it's still early days, but we're absolutey naff. Persisting with one up top with someone who isn't clearly suited for the role isn't going to work out is it Adams? Two up top or get out. He won't change it, just like that fucking jumper he wears every week. Anyway, seen enough from this team to know we won't be anywhere near the top 7 unless we strengthen heavily in Jan. Not sure why I overhype us every season. Got a little excited when Adams rocked up, but it's the same old crap every season.

Time is up for Chris Beech for me.

The results have been poor since January, but it’s more the performance levels than anything. There’s absolutely no plan, its all dreadful hit and hope.

Well deserved win for Vale today I thought. They were much the better side in the first half. Much more even second and we scored a well worked equaliser and also hit the bar but Vale always looked dangerous and a bit of pinball in our box punished by Garrity - 2 good finishes from him.

No complaints from me, don't think we did enough today only playing well in patches.

Deserved win for Vale - although we could have got an undeserved winner in the 2nd half.

Poor all round.

We've had a lot of lows in recent years but that's up there.

I don't really expect to be able to compete with many teams this year due to our budget but the lack of effort and fight we showed today was horrible.

Exeter didn't really play very well, except for Matt Jay but they didn't need too, they wont get an easier victory.

Jesus Christ! Weekend in North Yorks as wife on the GNR and saw we went 2-1 up then couldn’t get signal until now! Finally ended the hoodoo which I guess softens Rochdale finally winning a league game at Vale Park last week! Big win against a very good Swindon side.

Looks like we are going to be crap at home very good away this season.

3-0 now, I don’t want to slag off Walsall because they can only play what’s in front, but undoubtedly they cannot believe how bad we are at defending.

To be fair we did start today with 1 CB, 1 RB, and two wide midfielders in defence today but it’s still embarrassing.

Well deserved win. We should’ve scored a hatful first half. Tranmere hit the post in each half. Could’ve been about 6-2. We’re really starting to play well now. Optimism building.

Bristol Rovers will probably have been satisfied at half time. Classic away team theory: don't give the opposition time on the ball and try to quieten the crowd. It was working fine. We weren't able to create anything in a pretty dire first half, the last 20 minutes of which was played in an atmosphere akin to a library. Rovers were quite physical in their approach (not in a bad way), and but created no more than us.

We were considerably better second half, and full value for the win in the end. We got the goal at the end of a 15 minute period during which we were well on top, and the lead was rarely threatened in a comfortable last 20. Decent turnout from Rovers (I didn't hear a number - our PA is shite) but they were quiet throughout, with their team giving them little to get excited about.

Deserved win for us, 4-0 was slightly flattering I thought, but Oldham threw the towel in once the third went in and you could sense there was another in it for us.

I didn't think Oldham were that bad with the ball, they did cause us problems and had Hallam Hopes chance not gone narrowly wide to make it 2-1 early in the second half when Oldham pushed hard to get back in the game then the game could've been alot different. Without the ball they were pretty poor I thought, our first 2 goals came from winning the ball in our own half and breaking with pace and numbers. Fairly sure their backline was 3 of 4 players playing out of position.

I can just only hope their owner does do one and go, I cannot see any other way out for them because they will go down otherwise. So many similarities with ourselves from 5 years ago.

I am surprised if the defence is not Conference standard with these options.

It’s not conference standard, it’s an absolute disaster.

After 2 transfer windows clough has successfully built a defence worse than the one he inherited, which in honesty i thought was impossible

Struggling to understand why Rollin was allowed to come here watching that defence today he is way better than that pairing.

I struggle to understand why any club would loan a player to a rival of the same league.

Well, Crawley were f×÷€¥£g lucky today.

As I said the first half was a battle. Odd subs by Carlisle 3 swapped with only five minutes of play in the second half. Not much changed until it appeared Yems told us to sit back and don't challenge in the middle of the park...either that or we just wanted to play in front if the Carlilse fans. Then Morris, our keeper, decided to forget how to kick and sliced it 3 or 4 times on the trot. Suddenly it's all Carlilse!

Carlisle hit the post had a few scrambles and last ditch clearances from us. Then they scored. A bit if a cock up from our left back but a good goal. Our players then seemed to think they should attack and promptly had 3 really good chances and then scored. Our left back with a cracker from outside the box.

Tactically Yems needs a rocket up his jacksy for today. That was poor from him and his staff but we won so he will claim it as a master plan or something.

Almost as if… you stepped up your game for your cup final?

Joking of course.

Disappointed to lose from such a poor goal (defensively) but we didn’t deserve anything today from what I saw.

Barton won’t have long left going by that performance. I can’t take losing, but I expect some sort of fight from the team and I’m just not seeing it. It’s game on, 2 games off atm and it’s just not good enough.

I thought the game changed for us when Leon Clarke went off injured, Bristol Rovers looked good until then, he was winning every aerial battle, he will be a good signing at this level if he can retain some sort of fitness.

Second Half Bristol Rovers looked poor and like already been said we stepped up from what was a poor first half from us and deserved the three points, I maintain we will trouble a lot of teams at home this season.

We need to be getting on the pitch and messing up Swann's masterplan. Cox you can fuck off as well. Embarrasing. Whoever has liked and accepted Swann in the past is complicit and has blood on their hands

Sounds about right.

I think your main issue for me was that you weren’t threatening enough going forward IMO.

The only chance I was actually concerned with was the pull back where your striker fluffed it and it bounced on through to our GK.

You’re missing someone, like Clarke ironically, to be in the right place at the right time.
