Well, we did have the ball in the back of the net a third time and it was disallowed, and there was a reasonable penalty shout turned down too at 3-2. But we were lucky to only be 3-0 down so it is a fully deserved defeat, for sure.

Well assuming Joe Riley will miss Saturday with the injury, beech will be forced into at least 1 change. Not sure about putting Furman in for Riley as they are too different. If Devine is back I’d play him. If Kayode is back I’d play him to add a bit of freshness, I’d have to think about who to drop.
Well, not so much drop as keep fresh, but I'd consider resting Patrick he can burn through a lot of energy in a game... so can Mellish but I just feel that he is the right kind of player to put up against Barrow. We've got Toure as well we can put in.

Cheers Oldham, that keeps Grimsby and Southend’s life support machines switched on for another week at least.

Crikey, looked at that as a winnable one for Colchester with Oldham’s home form.

Big carrot for Southend tomorrow now.

Nice to see Tyrese Sinclair get a goal, a good prospect.

I don’t think we’ve won in like 8 now but mostly drawing.

well we done Southend and Grimsby a favour tonight so 9 goals in last 2 games make us the divisions top scorers and we climb to the dizzy heights of 15th just shows how crap our defence has been this season

tonight summed us up though, we were the better side against a limited newport side who seemingly came for the point which they got - it was also refreshing to see newport play without the almost outright thuggery which normally comes with their play.

However, yet another individual mistake put us behind in a match that would have been ridiculous had we lost and thankfully sinclairs find strike late on got us back level.

having watched various top 7 sides in the last month and seeing how poor they are it’s damning view on us in 19th.
Jeez, why would Newport come for a point?

We just aren’t good enough to take advantage - whether it’s quality or confidence we just won’t be able to score the goals to keep us up imo, despite the huge number of chances we’ve had so far.

Has anybody considered the fact we might all have a game postponed next saturday because of Phil the Greek dying.

Just recently Harry you’ve started to turn into a bit of a knob, just thought I’d let you know that hopefully you’ll sleep even better now.
Well at least it’s only just recently compared to some.

It’s how they set up and played defensively like how we set up against you.

Seemingly setting up for a point works.

I think you're right mate, the only way we'll win games is clean sheets because we don't really look like getting 2 a game. The real positive of tonight's result is that we can still draw our way out of this! Whilst we can do that, there's a modicum of hope.

I remember everyone playing Friday night when Diana’s funeral was on a Saturday.

You might at least go down unbeaten in 12 or something ridiculous. Wonder if that's ever happened before.

Another piss poor performance from us and a point we hardly deserved, mansfield were the better side throughout the game but unfortunatly for them they have worse strikers than us and that takes some doing, and once again flynns tactic of throwing everyone behind the ball after taking the lead comes back and bites him in the arse again, still a point away from home at this stage of the season is very welcome.
On the plus side thats the first point we've got at field mill since both clubs were promoted together.

Aiming for 6 wins in a row for the first time since 1996 and the run that included the Bogie Boogie against the Shit.

Won’t have the same value of course as we were a second tier outfit at the time but would be nice to keep the run going.

Clarke has said he wants to experiment but not just yet (although I think we should only do that where the opposition hasn’t anything to play for to be fair to the league in both situations).

Expect the same XI and hopefully another three points against Morecambe, can we keep going on the run.

Mathematical safety could be confirmed today which would be nice.

Yes but in our position a point isnt enough. I was disappointed with a point last week, I hope we dont play for one today.

Good to hear... here's hoping you can confirm safety and then just put your feet up and relax for the following week.

I can see ours being a dour affair today - we don't start playing until at least the hour mark, so it's hardly worth tuning in before then. The game probably depends on whether we bring on Calvin Andrew after 75 mins or 85 mins and start pumping long balls up to him - that might worry Carlisle a little.

A draw would do, but we still need to pick up a win or two to make it comfortable.

nothing but a win today...Maddison is now match fit and according to Evatt will be a big player for us for the rest of the season. Added to Sarcevic back training on the grass will be that pick me up we need to guide us home

Think it's only right all games are cancelled today.

At least until we don't have 12 players out injured
