Another piss poor performance from us and a point we hardly deserved, mansfield were the better side throughout the game but unfortunatly for them they have worse strikers than us and that takes some doing, and once again flynns tactic of throwing everyone behind the ball after taking the lead comes back and bites him in the arse again, still a point away from home at this stage of the season is very welcome.
On the plus side thats the first point we've got at field mill since both clubs were promoted together.

That’s our main problem, other than individual mistakes, we have a midfield in us to outplay pretty much every team but zero strikers to take advantage of that.

I can see ours being a dour affair today - we don't start playing until at least the hour mark, so it's hardly worth tuning in before then. The game probably depends on whether we bring on Calvin Andrew after 75 mins or 85 mins and start pumping long balls up to him - that might worry Carlisle a little.

A draw would do, but we still need to pick up a win or two to make it comfortable.
I like to think that if we have ambitions of making the playoffs then the outcome of the match will hinge on factors beyond how long Barrow wait before bringing Calvin Andrew on. Hopefully we can build up a nice goal cushion before Andrew is released onto the field of play.

I trust it will be a proper blood and guts derby affair with 3 sendings off each and lots of injuries thus making our next two games a tad easier.
He`s an enigma isn`t he Andrew? All the attributes to be a decent striker but somehow he isn`t.

Not really like that I don't think, though Barra do have ex-United players Pat Brough and Jamie Devitt (and Mike Jones but he's injured).

Decent point I suppose at the league's draw specialists. Disappointed to lose 2 points but we don't tend to do well up there unless it really matters. 5 home and 2 away games to go including Cambridge, Exeter and Cheltenham so still all to play for.

nothing but a win today...Maddison is now match fit and according to Evatt will be a big player for us for the rest of the season. Added to Sarcevic back training on the grass will be that pick me up we need to guide us home
I think Maddison will start today behind Doyle if sarcevic isn’t fit again yet. Delf right. Dapo left. Although Isgrove was very good first half at Newport.

We’ve improved recently so there’s reason for optimism that we can rack up some more points between now and the season end.

But still, the one consistent thing about Carlisle this season has been the away form, it’s been dire. Even when we were playing really well first half of season we weren’t picking up much on the road. Based on that i can’t see anything other than a Barrow win today.

Delf has been poor since Christmas yet can produce a glimpse of quality that will win us the game.......very frustrating player

In his brief appearances so far, I don't think I've seen him have more than one or two touches with his feet. As far as a target man goes though, I haven't seen that kind of player in this division this season - I wouldn't imagine he's even that tall but he seems to win everything in the air. When he's on, there is only one way we are going to play.

We're not a good side. There's a chance we might scab a win but it's hardly a foregone conclusion.

Bradford may have four ex-Grimsby players on the park today; hope not, as our former players always seem to score against us. Andy Cook, Billy Clarke, Ramon Burrell and Charles Vernam; what's the odds of at least one of them scoring?

This is Hellogregory you're talking to, we could be home to Billingham Symphonia and defeat would still be a foregone conclusion.
Na I think we’d just about beat Billingham Symphonia at home, if it was away maybe not.

I’m not sure if Burrell’s even played for us, Cook however wouldn’t be a bad first scorer bet.

Isgrove deserves to start he gives us urgency and pace, and played very well at Newport put that on a plate for Doyle who was very unlucky to hit the bar was a great move. Might be Maddison's time but really is a gamble, maybe we role the dice today.

One change for Vale with Gibbo returning to the lineup. That actually looks as close as you could get to our strongest lineup. Maybe a debate to be had up front alongside Rodney but nice to see.

Unchanged from Tuesday. Joe Riley’s injury can’t have been as bad as it looked. Just hope he isn’t being played as a risk.

Gibbons returns which is another huge boost. One of the best at this level, shame for Montano though who has a knock. Otherwise unchanged.

Yeah I think isgrove is playing for that extra work rate to help cover Maddison’s lack of work rate. I like that line up though

Yeah I agree. I like Isgrove, if he could improve end product he would be starting week in week out, his work rate is fantastic

Both of our games against Tranmere this season have featured perhaps our most depleted squads, two easiest wins of the season for them

Jamie Devitt not even on the bench - so might have a slight injury.
Dmitri Sea to come off the bench and get us a point - which would do.

Having seen our lineup Carlisle should really dominate the midfield, and the game tbh.

Your forum thinks you’ve put out a decent team, possibly some brought back too early? Rovers key men still out, expecting a tight game tbh
