Think Cheltenham are on top but Nadesan really should gave scored. I'd drop him from a Sunday league side for that.

Nichols hitting his own bar from a yard on 45 minutes was a bit lucky for us.

If we can keep fighting for the next 50 minutes we could sneak a point.

Pretty even first half, one good chance for each team. We've had a lot of the ball but not created much. One goal might be enough either way based on that half.
Both teams had golden scoring opportunities.

Crawley missing an open goal is more than a good chance.

Our defending at times is a shambles, got away with another one a minute ago.

I don’t think anyone wants to go up at this rate. The inconsistency of everyone this season is crazy

Tom Nichols has been class, shame we didn't see this side of him last season.

Not sure ive seen too many more hard working players in a Crawley shirt. Lacking in quality this evening but his constant work helps us massively, if him and Nadeson could hit a barn door we'd have a fair few more points

So either us or Cambridge could be top come tomorrow although Cheltenham would have a game in hand. I don’t know how we have the joint fewest defeats in the league now this season after the start we had

We've got a very tough game at Stevenage on Tuesday now, if we lose that we could be dragged right back into it. Uuuuuuuuuugggg

Okay, Cheltenham lost their game in hand but currently remain in pole position for promotion and title.
It is still theirs to lose. Which I don't think will happen.

Look, I’m usually one of the more optimistic fans and whilst we have the best home record in the league, even I can’t ignore the undeniable fact that Port Vale are the most in form team in the country. Therefore with all the optimism in the world, I still can’t see how this is going to go any way other than a Port Vale victory.

Carlisle United 1-3 Port Vale
In spite of the fact that we're playing to equal a 120 year record of 7 wins in a row, we haven't got anything to play for.

We were pretty poor in possession last time out and really didn't play very well. We'll have to be at the very top of our game to get anything out of tomorrow's game...something which has only happened in patches this season.

I'd be amazed if it's anything other than a Carlisle win tomorrow for 2 reasons. Firstly, Carlisle are coming back into form and have a genuine chance of the playoffs and secondly the law of averages states that this run can't go on forever.

We'll lose on Tuesday, I don't think we've won at Stevenage since before 1999. We never play well there.

I'm still confident of promotion automatically though. Stevenage is the last game I think we'll lose.

As for tonight, I didn't watch it, but my God we sounded dreadful. We've just always got a shit performance in us every few games.

I know we don’t really have much chance of catching Cheltenham (or even staying ahead of Bolton on their current form) but a Crawley win tonight would keep it interesting for all of us. Honestly, I’ve always had a soft spot for Crawley, going back to their EVANS days.
Liar!!

The best CTFC won on the night.
If Nadders could finish like he did earlier in the season we'd have won by more.
2 massive games coming up.

Third time this season we have beaten the league leaders yet we can't beat Grimsby or Southend.

I would say Cheltenham were the better side for 60-65 minutes but Crawley created the better chances (I'm counting that back pass as a through ball). Then Cheltenham started making changes and it disrupted their team. For the last twenty minutes we were the better side (I thought).

That's about the first time this season that a team has pressured us and we haven't folded. Third game on the trot we've kept a clean sheet too.

Now we go to Newport to get thrashed...or can we keep four clean sheets in a row?

Hope Salford aren’t in their red kit tomorrow . We’ve mostly struggled against teams in red this season.

Cheltenham, Morecambe, Crawley, Orient, Exeter, Walsall, Barnsley, Stevenage and Sunderland have all beaten us at least once.

Their original kit was orange was not it ?

I always think their nickname , 'The Ammies', must now be one of the most inappropriate in the Football League.

Clarke sounds up for the challenge to equal that record but it’s not the same motivation so will be tough although can go into pressure free and enjoy ourselves a bit more hopefully. Defend how we have been we’ve always got a chance, take out the poor showing at Cheltenham and under DC it’s 1 goal conceded in every 2 games... mega improvement on the final months of Askey.

Wonder who will replace Manny though? Burgess or Taylor would be the obvious, wouldn’t shock me if he brings in McKirdy though as a number 10 , he knows he would be fired up for it so wouldn’t be the worst idea if he is going to take a look at him.

First game this season I’m not going to be watching... wife and kids to the seaside now lockdown is over. Hope we win but at least won’t have to lose sleep if we lose this one now season is all but over.

We always do this when behind - even if we're playing reasonably well (which to be fair for the final 30 mins today we weren't) we panic and make loads of changes and it never works. Your performance was pretty much the blueprint of how to beat us - press high, grab a goal and force us to change how we play.

True.

Apparently half of their 80 or so regulars packed them in when they changed from their tangerine and black kit.

We are Newport. Our form since December will thoroughly confirm we are not remotely in the business of thrashing anybody.
