Game of Thrones

Great episode.

What's the explanation for Hodor's name up until that episode? How could he be called Hodor in all seasons, when the incident at the door under the tree did not happen and Bran is yet to go influence the young Hodor in the past?

You've seen Memento, right?

Back to the future... Butterfly effect etc etc

"The ink is dry; the past is already written."

There is no past, present or future. Time exists in it's entirety, we just can't perceive it that way.

And that they're making it up as they go along at this point also has a bearing one suspects.

This comes directly from GRRM.

They'll probably just bring him back like they did with John Snow and are going to with
Catelyn Stark.

Never going to happen. But...(spoiler for eps not yet aired)

The Hound will return.

but we never saw the hound die... although technically we didnt see Hodor die either

Where the Euron stuff dragged on for a book-and-a-half, the series managed to tell that story in three scenes and a montage. Bran, Rickon, and Jon & Sansa seem destined to be reunited within a single setting. The truth about Jon's origin can only be around the corner. Danaerys now has three major armies under her control and her character arc seems to have peaked, so she's likely to make a move soon. Margaery, Cersei and Loras are set to go to trial, with that doomed coup bound to end in bloodshed and a probable power vacuum.

Feels like the show is setting up an end-game of sorts.

I'm fucking loving this season so far. If it keeps it up it will be my favourite. It'd take a lot to beat season 4 though!

Read a few spoilers for the rest of the season. If they are true then holy shit, one of them in particular is HUGE.

Insanely buzzing for the next episode. This series I have particularly enjoyed because the pace has picked up and it doesn't appear to be be slowing down anytime soon. I think we are in for another treat.

thought Tommen's conversion was undersold, Lord Tarly was much less of a bastard than he should've been in what was a complete time-killer just to get Heartsbane in Sam's hands, the ending was essentially just the ending to Episode 4 but with words - her getting her dragons back was hardly noteworthy although necessary I suppose. I thought Benjen laying waste to about 7 wights was a bit naff too.
