He's been a very good chairman if what I hear about him is correct. Proper football man too.

Vaguely remember him saying the other year that he'd only be willing to finance them for another 2 or 3 years.

I thought they had decided to stay at their current ground and not proceed with building a new ground?

Graham Wood is meeting with potential investors from Texas, France, Norfolk and 2 local parties this week so hopefully things are sorted out sooner rather than later.

Whilst we're on the subject of Gateshead, why is JJ O'Donnell having to raise funds for himself to have career saving treatment?

Sadly he's missed most of this season and been told by the doctors he's highly unlikely to ever play football again, therefore the club understandably aren't offering him a new deal.

So two young Gateshead fans started a crowdfunding page in an attempt (successful as it turns out) to raise the money for a private operation so that he doesn't have to go on the NHS waiting list.

Basically because rather than waiting for the NHS he is opting for private specialist surgery that only has a 50 50 chance of success. The club has looked after him and in his words “Gateshead have been outstanding, they paid for all of my treatment up until this." This link is worth a read, explains the injury and the fund raising that has gone on.

If they end up slipping, do you's fancy sending Chandler and Ramshaw back down the A1 to help our promotion push to the Conference North.

Yeah echo above two comments. Folk need to realistic and expect a season of re-building. Its going to be hard for gateahead to get into play offs without spending loads when you competing against ex football league fans but then again the confrence can spring suprises look at macclesfield, dover and woking last season

Off topic but what did Gateshead fans make of Nick Anderton in his short time with them?

We've given him an extra year.

Seems a bit of a strange appointment, doesn't scream of being spoilt for choice of quality applicants. Be interesting to see who is retained and what kind of squad he can build. Tough to get near the playoffs this year I think.
