Interesting that Scunthorpe have cancelled three games due to COVID. I'm assuming you're going to give yourself a load of shit for this, like you did with us?

Also, can all the Bradford fans please give Scunthorpe some shit?

Disgusting that Scunthorpe are trying to cancel the entire football season with this kind of behaviour. WHY CAN'T THEY JUST GET EVERYONE TESTED? WHY ARE THEY FOLLOWING THE GOVERNMENT GUIDELINES? DON'T THEY KNOW THE EFL ARE ABOVE THE LAW?

Big difference is that Scunny approached the EFL first, whereas as Grimsby chairman decided to take the decision himself and announce to the media before having the decency to speak with Bradford City officials and the EFL.

Devante Rodney tested positive for us with Whitehead and Fitzpatrick isolating so assume house share as all signed around the same time.

No problem we just got on with it.

As we've already said, you had loads of notice and it's not like it was a decision we were taking advice from the EFL or Bradford on so what does it even matter? You can't really bang on about decency after the way Ryan Sparks conducted himself in the wake of us making what has now been proven to have been the correct decision.

We've Had David Dunn test positive a few weeks back and now Josh Kay has tested positive (sometime between Wednesday and Friday last week). Rob Kelly had to self isolate because of the Dunn positive. Josh Lillis is nearing the end of his self isolation after his Mrs tested positive. So ever club will be effected by it eventually....

So another club that had one person test positive, didn't self isolate entire squad and subsequently had more cases. Interesting. Grimsby went about things completely wrong though, didn't they?

Not a dig at you chipmunx, by the way. A dig at the idiots who deemed considering health and safety to be an attempt to the CANCEL THE SEASON.

So, Josh Kay played against Mansfield last Tuesday and then tested positive sometime between Weds and Fri.

Son of Cod, if you ring the number for the Covid tests did they email them across to you straight away? I need my results tomorrow urgently and haven't heard anything yet

No, I never got mine mate. When I rang 119 all I got was a string of automated messages with the last telling me they weren't able to track missing results and then it hung up. I didn't need mine really though, I just completed my 14 days self isolation and went back out into the wild. Maybe you should trick 119 into thinking you have a reason to speak to an actual person and get them to tell you if there's any way to track your results?

Will give them a call tomorrow morning. I have booked flights out the country on Wednesday (fuck staying in the UK) and need a negative result to board the plane.

yes (theres a slight chance it was Saturday) - but i don't know if any of the Mansfield defenders that are now off played and passed it onto him (as they already had at least 1 defender positive and off and now have more) or he got it from elsewhere.

Dunn was positive about 3-4 weeks ago and Kelly self isolated then - so there's no link between them and Kay being positive now.

Mine took less than 24hrs to come through in July. Most people I know took 1-2 days. I’d be very surprised if you didn’t have a result by Weds but worst comes to worst you can pay for an instant test if you can afford it.

Where can I pay for an instant result? Everywhere I've looked says only if travelling to UAE or Hong Kong.

I need result tomorrow, as I need to apply for travel authorization the day before I fly.

I had two tests yesterday. One at 11.30am and the other at 7.20pm.. no result as of yet.

A work colleague, who doesn't work in my office, just rung up after 2 or 3 days of not hearing anything and got his result over the phone, which triggered a text.

Another first for my club: Fined for Covid cancellations and other related shit!

Expect more clubs to get their collars felt. Or are we being made an example of?

Looking at the outcome it shows our board and ex manager up to be the joke they are and turned us into a joke.

Playing darts together, apparently a training tool, no wonder we are shite, we are playing darts instead of football!

No risk assessment done, probably placed our safety officer on furlough to save costs!

Only two players had to self isolate but we isolated everyone.

Fined £5000 for the breaches, then having to pay another £13000 for the investigation and will also have to pay ‘reasonable’ costs to the 3 teams who’s games we called off so God knows what the total bill will be in the end.

Car sharing should be fine providing it's with the same people each time and the same people training together. If you can work closely with them you can travel to work with them!

Though knowing the club it probably isn't either of those things.

Absolute farce if we're docked points for following government guidelines. Once again Grimsby proving to be one of the few teams in the division taking this pandemic seriously.
Oh and Bottega Don and F-I-R-T-H-Y, we've signed about 12 players so it's not a case of not being able to "forefil" our fixtures.

How do we pay for testing, by the way? Are there private companies that are willing to go round to all of our squad and staff members' houses? Genuinely not sure if there are or not. As far as I'm aware, the postal swab tests are pretty much impossible to get hold of right now? If the players leave their houses they risk fines of up to £10k. It's probably an alien concept for a lot of fans in this division, who support clubs that are spunking obscene amounts of money they don't have on wages but we don't really want to run the risk of about £400k worth of fines.
Thank you to Grimsby for taking the pandemic seriously

?

You guys do realise this is the EFL fining us, right? Other than the darts which is admittedly hilariously tinpot, we've been made an example of for cancelling games by following government advice. Pulled up on things that will be going on at every club, through an investigation process that won't be going on at every club.

Say what you will about Holloway/Fenty and the shitshow that we've had to endure, but we did the right thing cancelling games if there was a threat of harming players and their families. The EFL can fine us all they want or some jumped up prick from Bradford can write what he wants on the internet, but that doesn't change the fact that we operated the necessary amount of caution.

Hope Grimsbys darts are better than their shooting, otherwise the wallpaper around the dartboard will be full of holes!

As we knew at Bradford City all along, yet the idiot Holloway and some Grimsby fans, chose to have an unwarranted rant at us. Holloway's rant was one of the most bizarre ones I've seen, even from a strange character like he is

Certainly not unwarranted with the way Ryan Sparks went about addressing the situation.
