Are Tranmere in tier 3 being over the Mersey?
Merseyside extends from Southport to St Helens and includes The Wirral. Stupid thing is that on the edges of Merseyside you can walk a few hundred yards up the road and the pubs are open. Its not exactly consistent. Ellesmere Port is 8 miles from here and in tier 2.

That will mean Newport will not complete this seasons fixtures
Merseyside,Gt Manchester, Lancashite,Cumbria and Exeter and part of the Midlands expected to join tier 3 this week
It might end up with the season being suspended after todays virus figure of 19,000+. Probably for the best. Sort this thing out and come back in a month or so.

On the Wirral we have something like a 290 per 100,000 and are in Tier 3. Nottingham which has 850 per 100,000 is in Tier 2. Decent that!

This was similar to Leicester, on a few streets you could be locked down one part of the road free to go where you want and to the pub open at the other end of the road!

Yes, it is bizarre but unless you want to lock down everywhere you have to drawn lines on the map somewhere.

In the London Borough of Bromley there's a village named Downe. London is going into lockdown and that includes Downe. They haven't got a case of Covid but they're in London, they will be in lockdown.

Is football going to be impacted by these local lockdowns, though? They're working in pretty small bubbles anyway so a lockdown of areas, if anything, is likely to make it safer for footballers with family members unable to socialise etc.

I honestly have no idea what the hell is going on now. Where i live all the pubs have been ordered to close except the ones that serve food. As that covers all but TWO of the 14 pubs within a mile of me its hardly worth bothering at all.

Bit shit for the two pubs that only do 'wet sales' though.

It is when you consider that they were the most meticulous about following the rules. On a lighter note have a look what a pub called the James Atherton in New Brighton has done. Slight name change. On facebook i think.

I think in N Ireland with the circuit breaker lockdown "Elite" sport is still allowed so if thats the baseline I assume similar.

If Manchester go Tier 3 then Oldham, Salford, Tranmere, Liverpool, Everton etc. wouldn't be able to play if not allowed.

Beat Salford if you do play. Horrid entity.

I think if elite sport wasn’t allowed to be played in tier 3 areas then even this government would have announced that.

I think professional sport will be allowed to continue. Tier 3 certainly allows for it.

As far as I am aware travelling anywhere you want is still ok if it’s for work, as it has been since 23rd March, so don’t see a problem fulfilling fixtures.

So 4 key players out for 4 games due to a covid outbreak, had no time to properly train with our reshuffled team before Saturday. But did we call it off. Nope. Hopefully everyone else does the same from now on or this season is fucked.

Congratulations to FGR on breaking the law.

What is the law on this? All players were tested and only those deemed to be in close contact have been made to isolate.

It is an odd one, Nathan Smith had to isolate due to a family member testing positive, he was tested negative but still wasn't able to play until the 14 days are up.

Doesn't seem much consistency anywhere.

So all the players displayed symptoms did they? I highly doubt that.

No, one player displayed symptoms and 3 others have had to isolate for 14 days. Those players are Jordan Moore-Taylor, Dan Sweeney, Nicky Cadden and Matty Stevens, all key first team players 3 of who had played every minute of the season and all 4 played against Scunthorpe last week..
