Pleased with that. Only seen the Sky clip so far, but it paints us in a very good light. It's gonna take me a few watches of highlights before I get my head around who Berret, Summerfield and McAllister are. Berret is the guy with the yellow boots, right? He had a hand in a fair few of our attacks by the looks of it. Especially liked how he linked up with Vernon (?) and half volleyed the ball just over the bar, in the second half.

Gowling red card on the opening day is not ideal, but at least it gives Pearson an early chance to show if he's up to League Two standard or not. I'm hoping Gowling and Pearson will go onto be our established centre back pairing, but Hurst seems to really rate Boyce for some reason.

Seen multiple videos on Facebook of BP rocking, too. That one taken from the Pontoon of Davies' free kick being the best.

Sounded easy enough on the radio, Jackson sounded a handful as did Bolarinwa, didn't hear much mention of Summerfield and Mcallister though, whether we just used the wings leaving them with not much to do, or they didn't get involved I don't know.

Should have been 3-0 up in first fifteen mintues, but then sounded like Morecambe came back into it last 20 mins of the first half without posing much threat, and in the second half not sure I heard Morecambe have any chances except from our defensive mistakes.

Could be another issue with us this season as in last that our defence is not what it used to be. First 3-4 years of Hurst our defence was our strong point not sure whats happened in the last couple seasons, hopefully we sort it out and cut out the errors soon as I'm not sure the majority of lge 2 sides will leave them unpunished.

McAllister doesn't seem attacking at all. What he did very well was break up play and he is constantly harrying the opposition for the ball. Jury is still out for Summerfield for me; looks very busy but I'm not sure how much he actually does. Berrett is pretty tidy with a bit of skill and intelligent passing. Not sure he's best used shunted out to the left in this lopsided 4-4-2, like McLaughlin and Artus before him.

Just heard a rumour that Mighty Mariner has left. Is he in talks with Hartlepool?!

What did you listen to the match on mate? I was out drinking so it wasn't a problem for me, but I heard some people had difficulty?

Now were back in the league the only place online is Mariners player I believe, so reluctantly subscribed to that. Didn't work for first 10 mins so missed the first goal but was fine after that.

I need to renew my subscription in that case. Was gonna do it this morning before I found the goals on the Sky site.

A bit of both really. As I said before, on another day we could easily have had 6 or 7. The only time Morecambe troubled us in the first half was from their long throw-ins and when we lost possession in defence. Gowling did pull Ellison down when he was looking like going through on goal in the 2nd half but overall they offered very little and I'd be very worried if I was a Morecambe fans on that performance.

How did Toto and Podge get on yesterday?

Aye the only reason I have it is for the commentary, never bothered with it in non-league because you could always find the goals somewhere and the commentary was online from the BBC, but in the league they don't have the rights for online commentary which is ridiculous.

Just not online during the game, the MP commentary is Radio Humberside.
If you listen to it online on the BBC or tunein etc. It goes off when the game starts.

Morecombe we're awful, last season & the only decent players they had have left.
Pudge worked hard & only really had one chance which put over the bar.
Toto, his mistake lead to the goal, after that pretty solid, but I can see plenty of fuck ups coming from him

Yeah, Toto always has at least one heart-in-mouth moment a game. Usually gets himself out of it though. Don't really know a lot about Deverdics to be honest, was more interested in how Padraig Amond played.

Missed a sitter with his only chance .....I know you have to be there to miss them etc ...and space was tight , but a classic case of you should at least make the keeper work ...

That is ridiculously harsh on both players. Granted, I didn't think they were great today but how many games have you judged them on?

Standouts for me today were Jackson, Gowling (until the red) and McAllister. After the first 15 minutes, it looked like it was gonna be a cricket score as Morecambe couldn't handle Jackson.

Morecambe overall were poor but I thought Ellison was decent. Our defence was very shaky and if Morecambe were a better side, we'd have conceded a few today. Top finish from Ben Davies though!

Hmm I better explain myself. Both contributed well in different ways and Bolinwara got in the team of the week. He put in a real shift as did
Summerfield. I thought both players look to have a really poor first touch which means they are limited. However, Summerfield was excellent tonight, played deeper, had a bit more time and looked more comfortable on the ball. Bol also looked a bit more assured when he came on, although I think a smart full back will sit off him and try pick off possession from his somewhat loose control. Rhys Browne looked a good prospect - looks more of a natural than Bol but Bol will put himself about with his physique. Vose looked heavy legged - hopefully just needs more game time. Berrett good again - very nice balance and control. Omar and Chambers rather in effective. Very pleased with our full backs so far...
