We've gone from Peterborough 2020/21 to Lincoln 2002/03 but let's hope we're more Lincoln 2006/07 by the time we have our first game on it!

Should have been the pitch work and doubling the size of the Stacey West Stand but with the season finishing as late as it did, the latter couldn't happen.

our pitch was dug up after the last home game and already has a full coverage of grass on it - we were probably at the sandy beach stage about 3 weeks ago.

never been there.... not even in my Canterbury Uni days...
You haven`t missed much. It`s a damn disgrace IMO. How they are allowed to get away with it is beyond me. Its a temporary scafford stand like they have at the Open yet its been there for donkeys years.

Put a roof on it, it’s pretty much identical to the two ‘temporary’ stands at Craven Cottage which have also been there for a similar period.

Sutton’s vice-chairman Adrian Barry gave an update on the clubs YouTube channel on the ground works for the start of our first EFL season. The key takeaway is that due to a steel shortage the new away seated enclosure is going to be delayed until mid-September. A temporary stand of about 120 seats will go up (and will remain up all season, even after the more permanent 256 seater opens). This will affect our first 4 home games against Salford, Hartlepool, Oldham and Stevenage.

Total away capacity when the new stand opens will be a little over 800.

“Oh, I do like to be beside the seaside; oh, I do like to be beside the sea”.
A few layers of top soil to go on top of that then the pitch can be laid and seeded, it should be ready for our home game with orient, which is a couple of weeks ahead of schedual.

Dont know if this is in the most appropriate thread, but here is what the stadia might look like now. Not sure if this is 100% correct. Bristol Rovers is bigger than I remember.

The synthetic grass Is being laid at the moment. The real stuff is sown later.

I love that we can have a mostly synthetic pitch rather than a totally synthetic pitch. Should have just thrown grass on the 3G…

The away end looks a lot better than our visit in the cup a few years ago. Looking forward to another trip up there.

It's the facility the away fans have been crying out for :D
I was more impressed with the new scoreboard, at least with my slightly dodgy vision I can make out the numbers on the clock...it has to be an improvement on our previous offerings. From my seat I can only see the back of the hoardings...do you think they might have been better putting them on the opposite side of the pitch, especially if they wanted to attract locally based advertisers.

I'd not be surprised at all if the club had calculated how many people would see the ads, however briefly, on Youtube or streaming or video highlights and concluded that they could earn more by getting ads targeting them than they could by targeting attendees of matches (in the east stand, anyway). (This would seem to tie in with the way major, even global, corporate sponsors have been sought, rather than Cotwolds-based ones, as has been going on of late).

Obviously the most important question....Is the "Jilly Cooper LOVES Forest Green Rovers" board still up?

Think so, corner of the south stand isn’t it?

She seems to be more of a Keanu Marsh-Brown fan more then anything though.

Well, yeah re KM-B!

The JC LOVES FGR one was/is by the west stand, slightly to the right of centre (viewed from across the pitch), although there was/is another one saying something slightly different about her (can't remember what) by the south.

I'll see soon enough anyway....

We've installed electronic advertising boards this summer as well, the Club will earn much more from it.

We are continuing to turn our stadium and its surroundings into an art gallery with giant murals and hopefully by november will have the best fanzone in the country.
