Forest Green versus Nuneaton:

Only one goal required, a neat finish from Parkin, who had an audacious attempt a few minutes earlier that beat the keeper and grazed the post.

Dont think I can bring myself to watch those goals again! :dk:

I was very surprised indeed tho that Ross Lafayette was given MOTM for you guys,
Banya was given MOTM.... I would have given it to Ricko anyway (CDM number 4)

Ricko or Payne for me, sooo good to have Ricko back at CDM, adds that defensive workrate to allow Payne more freedom, who had one of his best games for us imo yesterday.

Ricketts gets the simple stuff done perfectly and is faultless 99% of the time, the perfect player to play alongside someone like Payne.

The penalty and red card decision look pretty clear-cut to me.

Definate penalty, you can't dive in for a tackle there.. Would argue though that it wasn't a clear goal scoring opportunity had he stayed on his feet and stuck with akinde.

Og was funny, arse went big time.

Three poor goals defensively, especially ours, both were laid on a plate by our players. How Hannah missed the one on one I don't know he even had a second chance at it, going of the commentary yesterday it sounded like Russell pulled off two great saves to deny him, but it wasn't two good saves, it was two bad shots (lets just say its a good job it wasn't LJL in that position or hell would've broken out on the fishy)

oh well that's the conference for you, inconsistent and poor performances from players at both ends cost you games.

Re: the Barnet penalty, isn't initial contact outside the box? Hard to tell mind, had to watch it a few times.

EDIT: That own goal

Looked just inside to me but it's a moot point as guidance says that if the challenge continues into the area than a penalty needs to be given.

Ah, wasn't aware of that - lots of the TV commentators etc. talk loads about 'initial contact' and stuff. In which case, as you say it's a penalty regardless.

For me the shoulder to shoulder isnt the foul, it's the lunge that catches Akinde and brings him down

I'd forgotten how excited the Rovers commentator gets and everything that happens is either brilliant, fantastic, spectacular, perfect, awesome, amazing or just plain fucking mint!

Two utterly dogshit goals for us to concede, quite typical of us in that a lot of the goals we do concede are pathetic and wouldn't be acceptable in sunday league.

Not sure about the Hannah one on one. His chance before that was unlucky, excellent knock up and shot on the turn. The one on one looked difficult for a left footer, he tried to place it in the near corner when going across the keeper would've almost certainly been a goal, but his right foot isn't great so you can't blame him for using his left which was unfortunately pretty much straight at Russell.

Just shows how blatantly mediocre our strikeforce is. We've not had a goalscorer all season, we've got everything but.

Sounds like the Grimsby v Bristol game next weekend will be end to end stuff with loads of chances but ending up as a no score draw
