I know some who post on here never move out of league two year on year, but listening to your comments are pure comedy Gold. The latest being Preston apparent interest in Crawley manager Scott Lindsey.
He wont uproot his family because he is a single parent but may do if a London club came calling.
I will tell you now some of the best Schools and places to bring up kids are within a hour of Preston. You can be on the Fylde coast, the trough of Bowland, Manchester, Liverpool and the lakes within a hour and a number of Schools are in the top 20 in the country within that timescale

The point is more his kids will be settled at their current school and he won't want to uproot them I think.

As also has been pointed out, a fair increase in wage may change his mind.

His kids will 100% be uprooted and moved to a fine part of Lancashire for an extra £200k per year. Don't be silly people.

If Preston could make the approach before the weekend it would be much appreciated.

Hey, you won't find me denying he'd be off for an extra £200k but family life matters.

Massi you did get the wrong end of it there. It was about uprooting the family when close to exams and so on. If a London club came in offering less there's a chance he would choose them over a northern team.

The other thing is he would probably need a new head coach because I doubt the present one would move as he only came out of retirement to help Scott.

I'm resigned to Lindsey moving on to better things which makes a change from our usual managers who struggle to get other gigs.

He is in a industry that he knows he cannot put roots down. Doubt very much he would move to London if he was offered less. I agree if one of his kids is close to exams he may turn any offer down and stay.
Many good coaches available and i am sure that would be no problem. Evatt at Bolton picked Atherton to be his assistant because he wanted someone hungry more than a jobs for the boys and did not know him at the time.

I had you like most for relegation this year like most had you last year....I hope Lindsey stays and you survive once more

Can I just say that I hope we go nowhere near him? Completely unproven and too short a time frame to say his success last season was anything other than a flash in the pan.

It sounds bad, but would a squad of well-paid Championship players really respect a manager with his non-league/ League Two background?

That seemed to be one of the main barriers that Westley failed to overcome here, although it didn't help that he was batshit crazy.

I understand where you are coming from but it all comes down to the individual. Having got to understand Lindsey's methods, standards and level of detail. I am very confident that he would be successful. Fortunately, he is nothing like Westley.

However, he does require specific types of technical players for his methods to work and he does not believe in a plan b if it's not going well. I have no doubt that if he's interviewed (hopefully not) he would impress those that are in charge.

Lastly, if your players weren't able to gain respect for him, I think that would say more about their sense of entitlement than Lindsey.

If he doesn't have a plan B then he'll never make it in the Championship.

You can't manage a lower-budget club against sides who have £20m players on £50k a week and expect to play the same way, week in, week out. That is precisely why Lowe couldn't hack it.

Effective Championship managers are tactically flexible ones, unless you have last season's Leicester or this season's Burnley squads at your disposal.

Oh, Lindsey is more flexible than he would have you believe. The first half season at Crawley he came into a shit show, players not allowed to play for the club and such. He dug in, ground out results, didnt bother with the nicities and saved us from relegation.

With help he then built a team that got promoted (losing 18 times). What he is not flexible about is that players give it there all and follow their instructions. Hand waving whingers are something we don't have.

Rob Edwards and Luton blow that argument completely out of the water.

Absolute anomaly over a short period of time.

I'm not confident he'll last the season this time round.

Think drawing Westley's brand of (successful) non-league cuntball equal with what Lindsay has done at Crawley is a touch harsh on him, but still, I could understand why you'd be reluctant in terms of pedigree.

Sometime those things work a treat, sometimes they don't, but if not just pluck another name off the carousel and see if they see the 4th match of the season.

I didn't even think they were that bad on Saturday. One moment of individual brilliance from Barry and they they folded though which would be the worry. I thought as a general performance, they showed the general step up in standard of this division because they pressed well and moved the ball pretty well without creating much.

I imagine the gripes with him go back to last season and that Blackpool expected to be in the play-offs both last and this year.

Thank christ for that. It couldn't have been more toxic after the result on Saturday. He had clearly lost all support of the fans and the players seemed lost and unmotivated against both Crawley and Stockport. Sadler needs to get the next appointment right after his last three disastrous appointments that now sees us 23rd in league 1.

Never appeared from the outside that Crtichley was welcomed back after the way he left for Villa. Throw in what appears to be a fairly risk averse way style of play and I'm not surprised he's ended up leaving, but didn't expect it to be as soon into the season.

Ryan Lowe would seem logical if it wasn't for his very recent Preston connections.

Can't say it was a moment of brilliance from Barry, as he went passed players like they were mannequins who wasn't interested in stopping any kind of shot. But a whopping 3-0 defeat at home so early on in the season when no-one looked interested is a concern.

Just as Crawley drew a sigh of relief Blackpool go and get rid of Critchley.

Please, please, please get Ryan Lowe. It'd be fucking hilarious.

That said, I think Lowe is arrogant enough to believe he's above Blackpool and League One.

I could see them getting that toothless alcoholic, Charlie Adam.

And as above there was a lot of discontent last season too.

Barry does that to defenders most weeks. I've seen him do similar dribbles for us that many times, I've become accustomed to letting the defenders off the hook and putting it down to Barry's driblling ability.

Richie Wellens the early favourite, not a huge suprise given his links to the club and North West.

He signed a new contract only a few months back so we’ll want compensation if they want to take him.

Having said that, they might want to give Keogh a try to see how he does first.

Backwards move. Bit daft to join a club whose owner might end up in a Hong Kong prison. Orient will finish above them.

It's not just the two games ( sackable on it's own) . He had the season previous . He should have been sacked months ago and not given the summer to rebuild. He was on borrowed time. Disastrous appointment from the start after the way he left the club the first time.
