It's what makes him and, by association, the club so unlikable.

The "fans" on Twitter also don't help - by "fans" I mean hangers on from abroad who couldn't even point out Nailsworth on a map, let alone having been, not those who go to the games and understand football.

Karl Robinson is allegedly touting himself around for work via his agent.

If anyone wouldn't mind offering him a position that would be fantastic.

He can come to us and work under Mousinho if he wants to?

Where did you hear this mate?

Hope it's true and someone offers him a job.

Do i dare say it - Kennedy out? It just doesn't feel as though its not improving, we don't seem to have any plan, and it's so boring!

It takes a lot for me to turn, but it really is dreadful. The club will be in for a shock with season ticket renewals at this rate

Suppose with the Cowleys out of work at the moment that would be the crowd pleasing move if they did it.

Today feels the kind of result for Oxford that if someone was going to lose their job then this would be the clincher. No disrespect meant to Burton on that.

That'a gathering momentum on a City messageboard. When Appleton came in after the Cowley's, there was clearly a transition period but there were signs of work being done on the training ground and it being shown on a Saturday. It feels since assistant Garrity left to take up number 2 at QPR, we have gone backwards. Yes we are hard to beat, I think only top 4 have lost less games, but it really is not crowd pleasing. With cost of living crisis, it'll be interesting how many holders we'll lose. I'll renew, as will all those I go with, but I remember when I used to look forward to weekends!

Kennedy needs more time in my opinion. The question really boil down to:

Has he got the right tools at his disposal? Not really, and that's not even taking into account what he says his way of playing is. Someone who wanted to play this way would struggle to score goals and win us games. We've had glaring weaknesses for 18 months, three transfer windows, now and pretty much fuck all has been done about it and it's now coming to bite us on the arse.

Is he getting enough out of the currently squad? Possibly. He might be hindering Diamond and Mandroiu by being too risk averse but he sees the best way is to keep ticking over and that's probably hard to disagree too much with because it's not as if you look at our squad and see goals in it anyway, regardless of the style/set-up of the side.

The Board aren't ones to panic either. They could have binned Appleton off in two of his three seasons being in a similar position but didn't.

The Cowley's basically left because we couldn't give them the budget that wanted and we presumably still can't so I'm not sure that'll be on the cards unless they're happy to come back and slip back in as it was before. Even then, though, does the model we're now operating under really suit them? Not so sure, albeit we did make some half decent money from player sales under them, as we do now.

Afraid to say that I just can't see what MK is trying to do and can't see anything other than MK taking us down.

MK was a strange appointment and the issues we could all see last season weren't sorted during the summer. I do feel for him, he has been given a poor and confused team and has lost a number of key staff mid-season. BUT, I was worried pre-season and I am even more so with MK in charge.

Other than Rushworth kicking it to Poole, I just don't see any sort of plan - it's dull and boring.

We had two weeks to plan for Cambridge and to serve that 'performance' shows to me that the players don't seem to have confidence in him either.

It is very worrying. Whilst i don't think he'll go just yet, the board are not that type, we massively need some positive reinforcements by Tuesday. I'm really surprised how well our crowds have held up considering. People will have a big decision to make on renewing their season tickets, and at the moment there really is a lack of positivity, crowd yesterday was the quietest its been for years, and absolutely zero entertainment.

The positive is most of the squad is out of contract in the summer but our regress needs addressing before our crowds plummet.

Although QPR change their manager every two minutes, and Ainsworth (as an ex-QPR player and fan favourite) gets linked with the job every time - and I’ve never even posted it as a possibility on here before, a couple of the more non-hysterical posters on our forum think it’s a done deal this time.

Which, if it’s true, means our season is torpedoed.

Can’t blame him if he goes though.

Critchleys had a terrible time there. His stock has certainly suffered. If Oxford ever got rid of Robinson, could see him ending up there.

I've expected Ainsworth to move on everytime, always wondered how he would get on elsewhere. How long has he been at Wycombe for now?

Since 2012.

Would be very weird if he goes, he’s done so much to shape the club in his image.

But rumours are that our US owners are losing interest and may be looking to sell, so perhaps he thinks things aren’t too secure at Wycombe anyway, in which case perhaps QPR being a fucking basket case of a club doesn’t seem so bad.

As per a poster on our forum (who accurately broke the Anis Mehmeti to Bristol City signing):

- Ainsworth keen to go and pretty much all comfirmed

- Dobson (assistant mgr) didn't want to follow

- Our owners offered Dobson the job straight away

- Ainsworth not keen to leave if Dobson doesn't follow

Soooo…much….speculation…

Ainsworth has done brilliantly really. Individually, Wycombe didn't look that great the other week, yet walked away with a 3-0 win, which they've been doing consistently. Greater than the sum of their parts? That usually equates to an excellent manager.

I hope he comes to the Vale one day.

Wish he’d gone last week…we might have got something from the game. Terrific manager and really likeable too.

Great bloke Ainsworth and an excellent track record. I’d be wary of QPR as they seem to go through managers at a rate of knots but that’s true of a fair few Championship clubs I guess. Be interested to see if the style of play adapts at a different club. Not sure if they still have Sheffield United on their fixtures but that will be a bit heated, they’ve never forgiven him for a slightly x-rated challenge he did on Dane Whitehouse when he was playing for us.

Sadly not, they've played Sheffield Utd twice, Dane Whitehouse is a c*** from a family of c***.

Deep breath:

We are apparently going to appoint Matt Bloomfield as manager, who played for us for 10 years, then was one of Ainsworth’s assistants until September last year, when he took his first managerial role at our formerly hated rivals Colchester United.

It’s all too much…

Ainsworth has certainly been loyal and earned the move which with his links to QPR was probably just too big to turn down.

Wish him the best, a Vale legend of course and hopefully one day will return to take the helm.

First thing he did a couple of weeks back after our game was come and clap the home fans.

Just hope QPR give him the time.
