Is this the way to (Amarillo) relegation?

Think only Leicester made a bid for Austin. £12m IIRC.

Surprised to see Charlton plummeting so rapidly. They looked half decent back in August.

Yup. Thought the same.
Sometimes even with a decent(ish) squad, teams can fall apart.
I would like Charlton to do well tbh, but mainly cos I really don't like Palace.

It is perfectly acceptable to dislike both you know.
Anyway, Palace really don't give a flying fart about the spotters. They only really care about Brighton.
So now that is cleared up can you please stop wishing Charlton good fortune.
Thanks

To be fair, I like the way Charlton give all new home owners in Rochester and Sheerness a 'How to Get to The Valley' leaflet and a 20% off a pie voucher. It's how football should be marketed: in the streets around smaller local teams grounds.

It really is time to just give up when even the opposition players acknowledge that your players don't give a fuck.

You will also be a fan of Manchester United when I tell you this; I live in a small village about 3 miles outside Rochester, had an email from my sons school asking if it was ok to let Manchester United Football Club have my email address (and the other parents) as they had been phoned earlier that day by MUFC offering ticket deals to go to Old Trafford. Of course I told them yes, then had an email offering me home tickets for 1 parent and child for £40. I emailed back asking if they were willing to subsidize my travel as it's a bit of a haul from Kent to Salford, sadly they haven't got back to me.
I didn't realise Man Utd were so desperate for fans.

Four points between the bottom three and safety... can anyone see any of them turning it around?

We're finished.

Another utterly disgraceful performance again by all accounts, a few of my favourite tweets from Charlton fans tonight that pretty much sum it all up.

Be in no doubt, #cafc team in League One next season will be full of Network cack from Alorcon & Ujpest. #Relegation #MissionAccomplished

Fraeye really is showing his cards tonight....these substitutions and formation changes are the stuff of non league. Fucking amateur #cafc

Massive improvement by #CAFC to only be beaten by one.... Another couple of performances like this and we can dream of a 0-0......

Never been so embarrassed to support a charlton team like this.. I made more effort in my seat.. WOEFUL

Fucking awful #cafc certainly going down now. As bad a Blackpool from last season. Destruction of club masterminded by a bunch of Belgians

That makes it 450 minutes without a goal for #cafc. Five games. Second bottom of the league. Winess since August. @BBCLondonSport

We'll be down there but I think we might keep enough clean sheets to stay up, 6 in 13 so far.

This.

8 in 15.

I'd be very worried if I was a Charlton fan. We weren't even at our best and could have had 4 or 5 tonight.

They were very bad indeed.

Rotherham will go down but you never know how Bolton will react to the inevitable sacking of Lennon, and didn't Charlton impress a few people at the start of the season? So they must have something about them that is bound to show again at some stage.

The impression I got from the radio last night is that Bolton played some decent stuff in the build up but didn't have anyone who looked like scoring. Obviously that's a pretty big problem but suggests they might be able to find a way out and a change of manager might help.

Bolton fan I work with seems to think there is zero pressure on Neil Lennon.

They were all singing his name after the game on Saturday. Think they realise what he is up against with the board.

For what its worth the step down to league one is significant. We were toss most of last season but once we got over the initial hump of relegation we've dominated most opponents despite not adding significantly to the side (actually we let 1/3 of our squad go).

Anyone relegated from the Championship next season would be strong favourites to come back up, IMO.

League One does look weak as fuck this year, even Blackpool have won a few.

Wasn't much better last year to be fair, but the three that went up were far better than the rest of the league, I don't think it has those three stand out teams this year.

Except we may be swopping places next season.

Do you do the same thing in Walsall then?

Again, just came from absolutely nowhere.

The performances this season have been far worse than those of last season. I still don't think we're good enough nor is our manager and we have Birmingham and Ipswich up next, they scored 10 goals between them today!

You scored two good goals on Saturday, but the defending was shambolic. More than just individual mistakes too, for Murphy's second and third goals there are huge gaps in the midfield and defence.

Up to this point I've thought we'd have enough to be comfortably mid table, and we should have more points from our performances earlier this season. But that doesn't matter now. I don't think we'll go down, but we'll be in this thread

Wagner will get us out of this problem when he's got his own choice players in Jan.

We absolute dominated Boro yesterday playing some brilliant stuff, finishing being the big difference.

I've thought the exact same about us this season. We really outplayed both Leeds and Derby and should have won but finishing was the difference. Doesn't mean we'll stay up though.

I'm less optimistic. Although we're always bottom half material I think this is the first time we've been in the relegation zone deep-ish into a season.

I fear we'll regret not hiring Wagner in the summer, and instead gave Powell a totally pointless and predictable start to the season. The fitness our style of play now requires is a big ask, and as much as pressing excites the crowd it pulls players all over the place at times.

Our next 4 home games are Bristol City, Rotherham, Preston, and Charlton. Big big games already.
