EIGHT month ban for @BTFC captain Frankie Curley, following the controversy at the Enfield Town match earlier in the season, club confirms

Anyone know whats thats about?

No idea. Our keeper Rob Tolfrey got an 8 game ban for jumping in to the Bognor fans for a fight... therefor on this scale, if punishments were proportionate, the guy in question has clearly committed mass genocide.

Can anyone help me out with what is going on at FARNBOROUGH please.

As far as I understand it, the club was in debt to the tune of one and a quarter million quid, most of which was owed to local companies and contractors.

They then took out a CVA where they legally cleared their debts by paying creditors just over 1.5 pence in the pound, which means they are now legally debt free.

All the talk has been of them gracefuly accepting a double relegation to the Combined Counties League next season, and re-building from scratch.

Now all of a sudden they have signed two experienced (and one assumes expensive) conference level players on long term contracts, which smacks of trying to buy their way out of a double relegation, and also announce plans to spend megabucks on installing a 4g pitch at Cherrywood Road.

Has no one at the club got a concience ?

In the article i posted they claim to only have a wage budget of £960 a week

Then they go and sign 2 Conference South players to 18 month contracts

Ahh Farnborough. What can one say that wasn't already said the first time or second time they got themselves in to this mess? I dunno... Maybe....

LEARN FROM YOUR GOD DAMN MISTAKES & EMPLOY AN ACCOUNTANT THAT DOESN'T THINK 4 + 4 IS 44.

Wonder what they are going to call Farnborough mk3? 'Farnborough 3rd time is a charm FC'?

A bit of a long shot but does anyone on here have any advice on Tooting & Mitcham. As a Grimsby Town fan I had booked a few days off work quite a while ago to spend a few days at my brothers in Surrey and take in our game at Woking. With us being in the semi-final of The FA Trophy though, the game has been postponed. If we had drawn Bognor away in the 2nd leg then that would have been ideal as I would still have been able to go but with the 2nd leg at home I was looking through a few non-league fixtures for a new ground to go to on the 19th.

Since Guernsey were formed I have, rather casually, followed their progress and noticed that they are playing at Tooting & Mitcham on the 19th, so I am thinking of going along to the game.

Does anyone have any local knowledge re decent pubs and places to get a drink/something to eat near the ground? Any advice would be greatfully received.

I grew up about a 10 minute walk from Imperial Fields. All the decent pubs in Mitcham are around the Cricket Green. If you're catching a tram from Wimbledon or Croydon, exit right from the Tram stop (the ground is left) walk 5 minutes and you're at the Cricket Green. A few pubs around there (including the Burn Bullock). There's also a few classy South London takeaways on the way down. Also if you're fan of the film Alan Partridge: Alpha Papa, the building used for the Shape FM studios (including outside shots) faces onto the cricket green

Alternatively stay in Wimbledon and catch the Tram to Mitcham as there's more (and better) places to go for food and drink)

Thanks for that. I've actually been past that cricket green with The Burn Bullock on the corner quite a few times when I've been visiting my brother in the past but I can't say I've ever seen T&M's ground or even any signs for it. I assume it is rather close by.

You have to walk past the tram stop. It's a couple of hundred of yards the other side of the tram line. It's on London Road (although it'll be Bishopford Road by that point)

Must say i think the FA have gone a bit over the top fining Lewis Smith 23 grand :eyes:
Surely the 17 month ban from playing football was punishment enough.....Wonder whats gonna happen if he cant afford to pay the fine. Will the FA just extend his ban longer & longer

K's win 5:2 against Harrow Borough. We were 5:0 up until the 88th minute then we let it slip a little bit.

Play offs are looking interesting... Dulwich are doing their best to bottle it again.

Well that makes a lot more sense. On the same scale as Mangan and his partners in crime.

The fine is presumably related to the size of the bets places as well as the seriousness of the offense. He's presumably not sticking a fiver on losing the game.

The most curious part of the articles I could find is it was 28 offences with 21 bets placed and 7 failed attempts. How does one fail to place a bet? Did the bookies start to recognise him? Is that how he got caught?

Yeah, Dulwich look a little vulnerable - wouldn't be a huge shock at this stage if they actually missed out on the playoffs, although they did manage a win today (I see Tonbridge lost which is a decent result for us).

Good wins from our last couple of matches, following up the 5-2 with a 4-0 victory over Brentwood. Not the Isthmian's finest outfits, but two encouraging victories nevertheless. If we can maintain a reasonable run of form then we should hopefully be able to cement a playoff place. Meanwhile, at the top, Hampton are looking increasingly difficult to catch, with a decent five point cushion over ETU.

If we win our games in hand we go level with ETU, 5 points off of the Beavers. Our game against them on Saturday 26th at Kingsmeadow could be massive.

Ah yes. The Lovely Lewis "hmmm, we might win this one, I think I'll get myself sent off" Smith. (Allegedly). Best not to mention him in the presence of a Hornchurch fan.

Meanwhile we've decided that touring East Anglia is so much fun that we will try it again next year.

Certainly getting tight up top in the Prem - amazing to see ETU still there but good on 'em. FWIW my money's on Bognor. There, that's the kiss of death for them, so you can all thank me later in the season.

Bognor are the only team that can catch/overtake Hampton without the Beavers screwing up themselves, but I think the fixture backlog will take its toll on them. Play offs easily (hopefully not at the expense of us) but champions is a big big ask from them.

Tooting & Mitcham 4 Guernsey 1. Isthmian (Ryman) Division One South. Entrance £10. Attendance 221 ( Est 50 Guernsey fans) Ground number 164 (only 7 of which have not been for a Grimsby Town game) Having originally planned a few months ago to visit relatives to take in our away game at Woking that game was called off due to our involvement in The FA Trophy but thought I would take the opportunity to visit a new ground. I did have the offer of going to Chelsea but as I have been there before chose to go and watch Guernsey whose progress I have loosely follow since they came into the league pyramid. Having been told that there were a few pubs around Mitcham Cricket Green we headed there after getting off the tram at Mitcham.

We came to the first pub, the strangely named Burn Bullock but this was closed and fenced off, however there was another pub across the road but this was closed down too. We then saw another pub sign at the other end of the cricket green, The Queens Head but as we got nearer we saw that this pub was closed and boarded up too. We then decided to walk the 10 minutes to the ground but on the way came across a thai restaurant which also had a public bar, so we nipped in there for a couple before making the short walk to the sports complex where Tooting & Mitcham play. I was very surprised at the set up there and the ground itself was quite good and on a par with some grounds in The National League, We found the club bar and got chatting to a couple of Guernsey directors, one of which was Matt Le Tissier's older brother. They told us that their players do not get paid at all and that they still have to cover the costs of visiting teams. About 20 Guernsey fans had come over with the team on the plane but there must have been about 50 Guernsey fans there as there was obviously quite a few now living on the mainland.

Although Tooting & Mitcham play in black and white I was cheering on Guernsey and they started the game well and took a deserved lead. Tooting soon equalised though with a goal by an ex-Mariner Serge Makofo and at half-time the score was 1 all with Guernsey being the better team. The second half was a different story though and T&M dominated and scored 3 more goals, including another one from Makofo who had a decent game to be fair. After the game we went back into the club bar and spoke with the Guernsey directors again and a few fans. All in all a great day out apart from the fact we came across 3 pubs all within a couple of hundred yards of each other that were all closed down. Maybe a trip to Guernsey itself beckons sometime.

Yeah, even if they were to win all of their seven (!) games in hand they'd still only emerge three points clear of Hampton. With such a fixture backlog that's a fiendishly difficult task. Still very much the Beavers to lose I fancy.

Shame we lost against Canvey on Sat - we could do with three points from at least one of the fixtures this week, be that against Enfield or H&R.

Seems all is not well at Grays Athletic.

Conceded 10 and scored none in the last three and now the club captain Kenny Beaney has left.

I had to write a report on Hampton & Richmond Borough v Billericay Town on Saturday for the NLP. I thought I'd share it here, having added back the six hundred words I'd have liked to use but had to leave out. Very impressed with both managers after the game; particularly Dowson of the Beavers who was quite insistent that his side were going to attack no matter what.

A 4-0 defeat is not very reassuring :err: bit difficult to see us taking anything from the H&R fixture if this result is anything to go by.

Looks like our neighbours Grays are in trouble.
Players leaving in droves after not having been paid.

Seems to explain why Glen Little was playing as a centre back against Bognor tonight.

Bognor won 3-0 and are keeping my betting activity alive somewhat.

If I were a K's fan, I'd still fancy making the playoffs.

Big game on Monday for K`s. Not only for their own play-off ambitions but to stop Farceboroughs mini revival

Yes, I don't know why - I should probably have been crowing about the fact that Ks thrashed the league leaders in a match I ACTUALLY WENT TO. That was enjoyable. Our match vs Farnborough was postponed so we now have a bit of ground to make on the playoffs, albeit we still have games in hand over Dulwich. Be interesting to see if either of the Rocks can overhaul Hampton. Keep imagining that Bognor will eventually come a cropper given the amount of games they have to catch up, but they seemingly keep on winning...

The next five days could well decide the "other" Rocks fate as they have three tough looking away games, starting tonight at ENFIELD, then DULWICH on Saturday and KINGSTONIAN on Monday.

Three clubs with genuine play off hopes who will surely be going all out for the points.

Ugh once again we balls up after some very encouraging results recently. Lost the lead twice (second time in the final minutes) to tie 2-all with relegated Lewes at home.

Tomorrow is the start of a big big week. Bognor at home in the league on Monday followed by Faversham at Carshalton in the Turvey World Championship final.
