What a great run Verona are currently on, Mandorlini has gone from seemingly being on the brink to completely changing the way Hellas are playing again.
2-2 in Milan with a 94th minute equaliser. Could be the end for Inzaghi now instead.
A bit late, but I'm not too surprised Fiorentina have beaten Juve. It was coming after so many draws at home in which they almost lost. Against Sampdoria and Inter are 2 prime examples. They've been pretty shit the majority of the season and them pissing the league shows how poor the league has been.
Napoli ballsed things up at home to Inter last night. 2-0 and bossing the game but couldn't keep the lead. Shame. Lazio can go 3rd if they beat Fiorentina tonight.
Think Parma should contact their ex players for some help with finance or free coaching to save bills, having to be saved by the rest of serie A for the season is tough enough for a club who used to be up with the challengers, Hernan Crespo still helping out the legend he is. Maybe Veron and Chiesa along with the likes of Zola and Thuram surely can get a consortium sorted to help them stay in the game even in Serie B.
Parma are as good as in Serie B, although its not too surprising seeing as what has been going on with that club. Not gonna discuss further though because I know fuck all in terms of a clubs finances.
Title race is over also. Not sure how Juventus are pissing the league right now. Most of the time I've seen them they've drawn (Inter, Sampdoria) or narrowly win (Torino). They are the best team in the country no doubt but it was also down to the fact the other teams have been poor. Roma have never recovered from the 7-1 defeat to Bayern, Napoli are horribly inconsistent, Sampdoria were never to be title contenders, and Lazio began performing in the league a bit late on.
Fight for the Champions League is most interesting. 3rd place I can imagine will go to either Roma, Sampdoria, or Napoli. Lazio to finish 2nd. Roma just keep on slipping up. Its unreal how bad they've turned. I think it will end up being Roma because I can't see Sampdoria staying consistent enough and Napoli are inconsistent as hell for the team they have. Fiorentina might manage to do it, especially is Salah keeps performing the way he currently is.
I certainly didn't expect Inter Milan to turn this bad. With the squad they have they should at least be in the top 7, yet they aren't. I would give Mancini some time but at the moment he doesn't seem to be doing anything special. Shaqiri was a fantastic transfer for them as I really rated him before. Haven't seen too much of Inter though so I'm not entirely sure how he's doing.
The other 2 relegation spots can go to anyone. At the beginning of the season, I said Cagliari, Cesena and Palermo. Palermo are looking good to stay up. Cagliari have done better than I expected them to but still find themselves in relegation zone. I can't see Cesena staying up personally. It will probably be the current 3 to go down because the only other team looking in danger is Atalanta and they aren't terrible.
I hope Lazio and Fiorentina get in. The CL race has been far more interesting and unpredictable for some time now, we haven't seen a decent title race since Inter-Roma in 07-08.
Just to point out, that article does used the words "allegedly" and is pretty open about the fact that there were only reports of the abuse rather than any concrete evidence.
Firstly, let’s talk about how they’ve been in the league. They are currently around 15 points clear with a month left to go. Safe for them to say the league title is theirs. When I’ve seen them they’ve played poorly for the most part. They should have lost to Torino, Sampdoria, and Inter Milan. However as I’ve said they have proven to be big game players and have beat Napoli pretty comfortably away from home. They were in complete control during that match and fully deserved the win. I didn’t watch their game against Roma however, they seem to have taken advantage of them drawing far too many and have done so away from home. Fair to say that they’ve had a good campaign although I’m still not entirely convinced they’ll do the same next season since they have players in demand like Pogba and Vidal and when that happened to Allegri at Milan, he completely messed up and Milan find themselves in the mess they are now. We’ll have to wait to see how Allegri does afterwards before saying he was better with Conte. Conte went unbeaten one season, so it’s best to wait before saying anything about Allegri. As I said, I don’t rate him very highly as a manager and it’s only his first season. Juventus were always the favourites to win the whole thing and once again it seems they have won the league and it will take some super form from Lazio or Roma and Juventus to slip up in order for Juventus to not win it now.
Next up in the Coppa Italia, I’ll keep this short here because I haven’t seen them at all in the Coppa Italia. I wasn’t most surprised when I heard Fiorentina won at Juventus because as I said earlier, most teams should have beaten them earlier in the season however; Juventus bounced back after in the away leg and won 3-0. They are now in the final and will face Lazio or Napoli. Juventus will likely win in the final because as I’ve said, they are a big game team. They’ve proved me wrong and get the job done when it’s most important, and while I don’t put the league down all to Allegri, the thing he’s doing right is preparing for big matches and it’s paying off. I predict Juventus will win in the final.
Can they win the Champions League is the big question. They were pretty good against Atletico when I saw them but they couldn’t break them down. Juventus definitely have the talent to do it; however can they get past Bayern, Barcelona or Real Madrid? I can definitely see them beating Monaco as Monaco have proven to not be very good. Juventus have better talent overall and I can see them winning pretty comfortably. It will be afterwards where they may struggle. They have the quality to win though and Allegri will be facing a real test to see if his team are really the real deal. While I believe Real Madrid, Barcelona and Bayern Munich to all be better than Juventus, the gap isn’t massive and players like Pogba have improved from the 2012-13 team that lost to Bayern in the quarter finals. Also Tevez has been massive for Juve this season and it will be tough to stop him. While the same could be said about the players on Bayern, Real and Barcelona, I’m sure not many were expecting Atletico to do as well as they did last season as they were also big game performers last season. While they were more consistent than the other teams, they still won the league deservedly. I think Juventus have more quality than that Atletico team and it’s certainly not impossible.
Lazio won at Napoli last night. De Laurentis has threatened to send the players to a training camp or something. With the form Napoli are in and the money De Laurentis has spent, I'd be pissed off too.
Hopefully Lazio can take the final. What great form they are in at the moment: 7 straight wins! Wouldn't mind having them in the CL. Would make for a change.
