Thought I'd get this thread up sharpish, try and erase the Plymouth defeat from our memories.

Got a feeling we'll get a convincing win here, 7-2 or something. Jabo to get another hat-trick.

Pretty sure Jabo won't get to 10 League goals this season, bless him.

Doubtful.
He'd probably get 25+ if he was in Orient's side though, which is still too good for this division if you were wondering.

Poor attempts at fishing there...

Not fishing, chap. I adore Jabo, he's a beloved son of Orient and was a great laugh last time I interviewed him. But the reason we love him so much is because he's such a talented donkey. Always goes from the sublime to the ridiculous, and never, ever scores enough goals. This season'll because no different.

6 goals in his first 4 games for us, more than anyone expected, so he's already exceeded expectations.

We are chalk and cheese at the moment. You will either get us looking like barcalona or like a sunday morning park side. Anyway as I did the 4 - 4 last season I am pleased to say I am not going to carlisle away this year.

He only needs 6 more! He won't be top scorer but I would be surprised if he didn't hit 10 league goals given how well he's set himself up for it.

I think personally we will win this game.

but if we do not win this game its quite worrying as it'll be the 4th straight year we have a horrendous start to the season.

law of averages and all that clap-trap....must be due a win in august sometime.

I think we'll win it as well.

To be honest I don't know what all the uproar over last night is about. Listening to the game it sounded like we were the better team in the first half up until the goal, yes we collapsed in the second half but if we're being honest Plymouth are a better side than us and going into it I wasn't expecting much at all from the game.

For me we should be going into Saturday trying to play the same as we did in the first half yesterday - our pitch is much better than Plymouth's was which should cut out some of the slips which led to goals, and even so it sounded like we should've scored one or two more last night.

Team:

Gillespie
Miller Troy Raynes Grainger McQueen
Dicker Hery Kennedy
Ibehre Osei

the uproar I think will be partially Curle caused because most feel TAH should be starting and that Grainger/Raines are both poorer players plus Miller is a full back shoved into centre because of stubbornness................the same stubbornness which pretty much cost us a league place last season.

so to then see defensive cock-up, defensive cock-up, defensive cock-up etc, etc while the defender most rated by the fanbase sits on the bench is I think causing the problems.

well that and the fact we've had such a horrendous defence for so long now, we've been a 70-80 goals conceded a season team for what seems an eternity.

Because for the second successive match we've given numerous goals away from either a player slipping on their arse or playing a stupid suicidal pass.

If anything we're going to be more nervous which will lead to more mistakes.

I'm starting to think our shirt is cursed. No matter who wears it, we're still shockingly bad at the back. We've got conpletely different personel to the shower of shite that relegated us from league 1, yet one thing remains the same, we're still the worst team defensively in the football league.

We'll be straight out of the traps, absolutely batter you, go a goal up until just after half time when you'll change formation, get an equaliser and go on to win comfortably in the second half.

Either that, or you'll be straight out of the traps, absolutely batter us, go a goal up until just after half time when we'll change formation, get an equaliser and go on to win comfortably in the second half.

As we're not at home, I'd lean slightly towards the second scenario.

There will be goals. I don't know how many goals or who will get them, but there will be goals. Lots of them.

Last 2 visits to Brunton Park, I've seen 15 goals.

Now watch the 2 teams serve up a 0-0 bore fest.

If you guys are likely to score/concede goals then expect a big scorer here, we are about as open as a team can be at the moment. If we continue to play two full-backs as part of the back 3 as well as wingers in the wing-back positions then we'll essentially have one proper defender again.

I think we'll win it, Ibehre will probably score again, but I don't think we'll do it the easy way. Probably 4-2 or something.

I think you're right that they'll be plenty of goals, we have a laughable defence but all-out attack means we're bound to score a few. I'm sticking by my original 7-2 prediction, though I'd settle for 4-2.

Team I'd go with:

Gillespie

McQueen
Archibald-Henville
Meppen-Walter
Raynes
Brough

Joyce
Hery
Kennedy

Wyke
Ibehre

Team I think Curle will go with:

Gillespie

McQueen
Miller
Raynes
Grainger
Brough

Joyce
Dicker
Hery

Wyke
Ibehre

Should be a game full of goals,
so I'll be backing the 0-0 (no goalscorer) bets obviously

I'd pick.

Gillespie
McQueen Miller Troy Raynes Brough
Hery Dicker Balanta
Wyke Ibehre

I want Raynes and Troy in together because I don't think Raynes is that bad, I just think he struggles in a one man back line.

I liked the midfield against Chesterfield and I'd want Brough and McQueen to play as attacking full backs not attacking wingers, meaning they actually have to defend and offer some protection down the sides.
