Macclesfield Town/Manchester City. It's complicated.
I think that first point is fair enough. He should be more careful because if he does anything that can be twisted into something negative by the papers then they'll be all over it, and as it says while Villa are doing poorly they'll put more emphasis on it. That's not to say he's done anything wrong, just that he's put himself in a position for people with nothing better to do to get all pissy about it.

I'd imagine the reporting may be different if it was a Leicester player, who would be 'enjoying some well earned R and R after his club's phenomenal start to the season'

Depends which one. The Vardy 'Jap' incident was regurgitated once he was in the England side.

I can't find it now, but remember seeing a blog comparing the Sun's outrage at him apparently calling someone a 'Jap' with several Sun front covers over the past few years where they, well, call Japanese people 'Japs'

Not only is that completely unfunny, it's totally inaccurate as the number of Chinese tourists abroad (including the UK) has increased massively over the past decade. More Chinese than Japanese visit the UK nowadays.

Grealish will be able to do what he wants next season as the papers won't give a toss when Villa are a Championship side.

Surely he'd be top of the list that Villa would be pressured to sell to bring cash in.

We'll take him on loan if Villa aren't going to play him :animatedf:

Pathetic that they've dropped him for this. It may make him into a boring person and make him "Learn his lesson" whatever that lesson is, or it may make him resent the club and leave at the first chance he gets for punishing him for having a personal life. Hopefully it's the latter.

Probably didn't help that they had just lost 4-0 and he is seen having a "good time".

Had Villa won no-one would be batting an eye lid.

Of course its not the first time and maybe something else has gone on we don't know about.

Shame for the lad, he hasn't actually done anything wrong. One of our better players to, although he's been pretty poor lately. Might just make him resent the club.

They had a poll on this in the Birmingham Mail today. These are the results

Also the fact that Remi Garde is pretty new in his post and needs to be seen to be asserting his authority as well.

I thought this was pretty much spot on. Villa have a new manager who needs to show hes not a soft touch, so since Grealish is the first player to step out, (as well as having previous) he's been made an example of.
