As we're getting very close (26th of Oct) its time to build up for bond and what better way than not just one list in a thread..............but 4 (i'll keep them all here)

we need some positive bond after Daniel Craig this week pretty much shoved 2 fingers up at his part and said he'd rathr slit wrists than play him again.

On the old board we did a best bond thread which I think if my memory reminds me was won by Moonraker.....certainly was Moonraker, Casino Royal and Spy who loved me in top 3 I think. (not sure if I can check that.

4 things for the lists............a wee bit different.

* Your top 5 bond girls............their film names than actresses and can be ANY bond girl from the heroine, to the one which usually dies or maybe one of the villain females.

* Speaking of which your 5 best Villains, again can be the main villain or henchman or stooge.

* How about your top 5 bond theme tunes......all the intro songs for any of the films.

* Toughest of all is your 5 best bond Action sequence.........this could be just a big stunt, or mass fight or just an individual fight during any of the films.

i'll produce the winners in the last few days before film, so you have a nice 2 weeks to think and will plug it further during time.

If Denise Richards gets anywhere near the top 5 Bond girls I'm gonna do something silly like hack in the forum's system and post nude pictures of Teri Hatcher in every single thread.

Great themes, Dave. Will send mine in this weekend.

Well I have seen it and my view is that was the most boring bond film of the entire series.

Nearly fell asleep........twice......during bond!

Watched it last night and I actually rather enjoyed it. It's a lot slower moving and with a lot less action than Skyfall (which I usually) deplore in Bond, but I thought it worked well.

I can't remember how to do spoilers on here so I'll try to not give much away, but I do wish they'd used the villain a lot better than they did, it all felt very rushed towards the end which was a shame. Enjoyed Qs involvement as well, made the film feel a lot lighter than it usually does.

I actually think this one had a lot of echoes of past Bond films within it (without stating the obvious), I mean by locations and certain fight scenes, it felt to me like I was watching bits picked and plucked and placed into a modern reworking and a new storyline. Nicely rounded off what I imagine is Craig's last Bond outing as well, so all in all I was pretty pleased.

I felt like I was watching Quantum of Solace all over again...

Bond finds out about a secret criminal network, eventually goes out to the desert to destroy their hideout. Overall I was underwhelmed.

Hopefully an improvement on Skyfall, but from what I've read I won't be holding my breath. I might not even bother with the cinema for this one.

What we're actually doing is lowering your expectations so that when you do see it, you're pleasantly surprised.
You compared it to QoS. It's over.

It's a Bond film, therefore it was great.

Hated it. Casino Royale proved to be a false dawn, every film since has been camper than a Carry On and awfully generic. Sam Mendes has to go. Forgettable.

QoS and Spectre haven't been great, but I thought Skyfall was excellent. Arguably my favourite bond.

I thought Skyfall was a bag'o myself, I'd go so far as saying I preferred QOS. Too long, too disjointed and a bond villain that makes Alan Carr seem macho.

Admittedly the antagonist in Skyfall wasn't your stereotypical bond villain, but I actually liked that. Skyfall seemed a little different to many other Bond films, and I found the change quite refreshing.

I enjoyed it - but thought Skyfall was better + I also thought it seemed a bit 'cobbled together' with some bit's unrealistic i.e how the arch villian managed to escape that desert and re-appear.

A Bond film with unrealistic scenes? I'm sorry, I don't buy that.

Skyfall was good and QoS a shoe-in for the worst Bond ever. I also didn't think much of Casino Royale either.

It's only out on November 11th here. I'm looking forward to this.

I find it pretty amazing someone could even consider QOS as the worst Bond film ever when you look back at some of the embarrassing shite Brosnan made towards the end. Goes to show how wildly opinions can differ.

Enjoyed Spectre. It's not as good as Skyfall or Casino Royal but it's much better than QOS.

The opening sequence was fantastic, one of the best i've seen in a Bond series but it just kept fading out after that. Christopher Waltz in particular was disappointing as he didn't get much screentime. Overall though it was entertaining.

The Iceland one was very bad. The rest were decent. GoldenEye was superb.

I'm pretty mad at Dave that we're not having an updated Bond movies list.

I'm no bond expert...in fact I'd say I've seen about 5 in total, but preferred this to Skyfall. I'm not mad about loads of action (when you know people will fight for 2 minutes and then Bond will win) so preferred more of a story. Thought Skyfall ended up dragging at the end with the final play going on for far too long.

Worth a watch and perfectly enjoyable but Bond will never be top of my list of films.

We all know Bond likes a witty quip now and then, but the levels of corn in Spectre was bordering on slipping on banana skins and custard pies to the face. The bit where Batista pauses to say "shit" before being dragged off the train could only be more cringeworthy if someone kegged him before hand.

I thought he said cute??? I kept expecting him to show up after that but alas no

The bond girls worked well in the film. Monica Bellucci is stunning for her age and Lena sedoux did well too, although personally there have been more attractive ones in the past

For me the craic films go skyfall, spectre, casino royal then QoS

I might have misheard, either way it's an example of the hokiness that permeated this film.

If I remember rightly the last time we did a bond list it was QOS, Die Another Day and Diamonds are forever.

I think that was the correct 3 worst.

The one that did surprise me was 'On Her Majesties Secret Service' which only didn't finish in that bottom 3 because I rated it highly so clearly no one here liked the film, yet on most lists usually it rates quite high......guess that one splits and depends who you ask.

should do a list again onetime as we lost other, not sure which won.....think it was Moonraker. I do remember Casino R, Goldeneye and Live and let die rated very high as it was a good showing they always do well with the first bonds.
