Just seen on the Barnsley official site that Lee Johnson has been given permission to speak to Bristol City.
Surprising.

I'm guessing Barnsley fans won't be too upset to see he could be leaving?

A few months ago maybe but he's really turned their form around recently...some even mentioning an outside chance at the POs

Just read an article in the Bristol rag and what he has said is a carbon copy of what he spouted before he left us. Expect him at Bristol within the week.

The guy is a knob

Always leaves before he can be judged.

Confirmed now, can't see too many tears being shed in Barnsley about this.

Is he ever going to stay long enough to actually achieve anything?

Daft thing is if he had stayed with us until now he could have got us to the play offs last year, and pushed on this. Taken the Bristol job and left us a hero. Most football fans would've respected him.

Now most just think he is a c***

Ainsworth would be a great appointment. Very unlucky with Wycombe last year and has got them challenging again, despite player departures.

Page been mentioned for Barnsley, wouldn't lose sleep on it and dare say within a couple of days Michael Adams would be back for a third time!

Got offered a job in a higher division, on a bigger wage. Can't really blame him.

And what reasoning do you put behind him leaving us for barnsley? OK bigger wages granted but surely the longer term reputation is more important given the substantial leap in wages in the prem

Luke Williams signs a five year deal as 'head coach'.

Next season could be decent for us if results since Williams has been named boss are anything to go by.

There is a bit of a good feel factor about the club and fans at the moment. New training ground soon, some exciting young players coming through and the club is virtually debt free. Say what you like about Power - and I've had my moments - to get rid of over £5m debt in less than 3 years is impressive.

Still not keen on his communication, though

I wonder what the odds of him seeing out a 5 year contract are, that's probably double the average tenure of a football manager/head coach these days.

Id have said it was more 3-5 times the average tenure nowadays

Very unlikely but the owner loves him and sees him as an integral part of the structure we have at the football club. Obviously if a bigger club comes calling it will be the same outcome as usual but Power is convinced we can get ourselves into the Championship over the next couple of seasons and clearly feels Williams is the man to get us there.

After announcing Nick Daws is manager until the end of the season we've randomly appointed Graham Alexander, that's weird.

One more sacking and half the clubs in the division will have changed manager. Coventry seem the most likely as their season implodes.
