Bradshaw given the number 9 shirt for our squad numbers.. perhaps a sign that we will be keeping him and risking him going on a free next summer.

Haha go on Dion lad. He'll do well in this league. Very good player.
He looks shit hot when you look at his stats on soccerbase

McFadzean gone to Burton. But of a bummer, hopeful we'll still get another first choice CB in with Kevin Long rumoured

That's our first choice too, it appears... We had him on loan and now have free'd up the wages of a senior first teamer to invest. It could be a bit of a scrap.

Also on our radar is Liam Moore (Leicester) who'd be my preference.

Are Kettings and Ripley battling for the keeper position or is the loan keeper expected to start with Kettings as back up? Ripley played one game for Oxford on an emergency loan at the end of the season in 2012 and he had a bit of a mare in it. Can't really judge him on that though as only the 1 game, and he only had 2/3 days of training with the squad before.

Pleased with the signings of Maguire and Rothwell. Maguire we know what he can do and Appleton knows how to use him. Whereas Rothwell sounds promising but we shall have to see how he does on the pitch.

Sheff Utd have got themselves a good player in Jake Wright. A leader and excellent timer of a tackle with generally good positioning. He can be caught out at set pieces and crosses though and whilst not slow, isn't fast either. Wilder should know his strengths and weaknesses though. One thing though is that he should only be used at left back in an emergency as his weaknesses are exposed in that position. A fine centre-back for us, a nice chap as well who did a lot of the community stuff happily and will be remembered, as another poster said, as a legend.

We have German winger Jordan Brown on trial from Grasshoppers.

Southend currently have our former centre back William Edjenguele on trial as well.

I would imagine Ripley will be #1.

Anton Forrester on a 2 year deal. Looked like a good player at the weekend. Pleased with Jerome Thomas and Forrester, two good league 1 additions in my view and adds British experience to some of the foreign lads.

Thomas should be decent in League 1, only played 22 games in four years, though.

I guess that's the risk you have to take at our level, if he'd played loads of games for Rotherham we 'd never be able to sign him. Worth it in my opinion as he was a cracking player a few years ago and still only 33.

Jerome Thomas was a hugely frustrating player for us, all the attributes are there but he just had trouble bringing them all together.

Sometimes he tried to do too much, other times his decision making was poor or his final ball was no good.

Undoubtedly a talented lad though and put in many a good performance for us in the PL days and if he stays fit should be a good acquisition for a side in this league.

My favourite moment from Jerome Thomas at Charlton -

I'm happy with both of today's signings (Anton Forrester and Jerome Thomas) at least we have started to look at players that have actually played in the English leagues! Couple that with the likes of other British players that we already had under contract in Anwick, Purkiss, Grant, Foley, Kelly, Brown, JJ Hooper, Yates & Streete I think our squad is starting to take shape and it takes our squad up to 29.

However, according to our totally crazy chairman we can still expect upto another 2 signings over the next few days so we may have a squad of between 30 and 32 (some of which who are academy graduates will be sent out on loan)

Pretty impressive signings. As you say you really need those British players to add to the foreigners you have brought in.

We turned down the £1million bid from Everton for Dominic Calvert-Lawin. Surprised we turned it down, he ain't worth that at all from what I've seen.

Why would Taylor join a smaller club in the same division?

Ha, hardly a huge difference in size is there? Between Rovers, Oxford or any of the Championship bottom dwellers.

I'm guessing Matty Taylor's priorities would be ... Money, Location, Club/Personal Development... We'll offer plenty of money, his hometown and he'll take over a lad's status that we've just sold for £3m to one of the biggest clubs in the country.

I'm not saying we'll get him, but it's a more exciting proposition than you're suggesting.
