Was wondering what the fuck Pope was on about. :dk:

Never heard of Rothschild's or whatever the fuck that's all about. Stick to the football lad.

No way he’s mentioning Rothschild without being vaguely aware.

The only things Pope's brain is truly capable of is knowing how to stick the ball in the back of the net and knowing how to play a good round of golf. The bloke is as thick as pigshit, there's no way he was anti-Semitic. He's just regurgitating some crap he probably came across on the telly late at night to make him sound intelligent.

Too many things are over politicised in this current climate. Tom Pope trying to be Nostradamus isn't worthy of such scrutiny. He got a deserved ban for telling a bloke he'd kick him all over Burslem. But what I feel is genuine ignorance here shouldn't be punished. If Wayne Hennessey can get off with a bullshit excuse for doing a Nazi salute (when every man and his dog knew what he was doing) then surely you can't punish Pope for making a prediction about a topic he clearly knows fuck all about.

Whilst he’s incredibly thick, it is no defence when it comes to anti-semitism, racism, homophobia, voting for Brexit, supporting Vale etc. Should be no excuses.

In the eyes of the law ignorance and stupidity is not a valid defence.

Someone with a better memory than me will know, but I seem to recall one manager not that long ago forbidding his players to go on social media/twitter. Can't seem to recall his name but it was either a L2 or possibly a Conference club. A splendid idea IMO.

Anybody?

Pointless me starting a thread for the game against Crawley - I don’t think there’s any of their fans on here?

Absolutely no idea how we’ll line-up. Im
Hoping for 442 or 4312

GK: Richard O’Donnell

RB: Adam Henley
CB: Anthony O’connor
CB: Paudie O’connor/ BRE
LB: Connor Wood

RW: Zeli Ismael/Harry Pritchard
CM: Jakes Reeves
CM: Matty Palmer/Chris Taylor
LW: Dylan Connolly/Jamie Devitt

ST: James Vaughan
ST: Eoin Doyle

I’d take a scruffy win; a goal off Doyle’s left arse cheek in the 90th min. He’ll then take his shirt off and dive into the away end, where 600 delirious City fans will welcome him with opening arms .....and Nelson Mandela breath.

Someone did that during a game at our place a few years ago...when we were playing Oxford Utd. It wouldn't have mattered too much, except for the fact that we had given them two blocks in our main stand and that was where he was...nearly started a bloody riot!

Well for some reason unknown to anybody with a brain cell i have decided to drive to Stevenage tomorrow.
Hopefully get frisked by some stunning female steward and accompanied to the toilets, seems the highlight of a visit there.

I'm not expecting much really as per usual we followed up the Swindon win with everybody banging on about our next 3 games are the bottom 3.
We started well with a wonderful 2-2 against Macc.

Going to go for a rather mundane 1-1 draw tomorrow as the so called play off possibility slowly disappears into the distance.

Been frisked at a lot of grounds this season. Never by a stunning female steward though, sadly. Not even sure that would be allowed.

We're off for our first visit to Salford tomorrow with 800+ of our tickets already sold, although I can't see there being too many home fans because ManUre are at home.
Aside from the bus shelter stands and lack of toilet facilities, what else is to look out for or expect during our visit?

They've drawn loads... as have we so seems set in stone that this will be a 0-0 or 1-1.

Would love to beat them but we always get ourselves wound up by their antics and run out of ideas!

The trick is to score early. Funny how that cuts out a lot of the antics.

I was referencing i think it was Grimsby where i'm sure if memory serves me right they were followed into the toilets by stewards and basically accosted?
Sure a Grimsby fan has better recollection than myself.

There isn't a lot going for it mate. No pubs anywhere nearthe ground, if you go on train just stay in Manchester and get a cab. Think we paid about 15 quid between 5 of us.
Afterwards we walked back , 45 minutes.
Sadly there aren't many reasons to go apart from the new ground factor. Luckily ours was 2nd away game in the sunshine.
They do have a massive quantity of pies and are unlikely to run out, that is all i can offer

They do like a bit of a punch up after the game, so there is that.

We play Newport at home tomorrow. I fully expect this game to go just like our last two home games have. We dominate the first half, opposition score against the run of play. Opposition then come forward once in the second half, score off defensive error. We then chase the game and fail to bring it back.

On the bus, stopping off in our regular watering hole(s) at Leigh. A guarantee of decent pies at the ground means we don't have to interrupt our drinking time with solids...

Carlisle away. They’ve been ok at home recently looking at their form but if we are to go up these are the sort of games we need to be winning.

Cambridge at home tomorrow. This will be the fourth game between both teams this season after the FA Cup 1st round and replay.

It’s one of those ‘we should win games’ but they can often be tricky. We still have a makeshift left side due to three injuries in that position. Ajose is fit again and scored last week but will probably start on the bench.

Not sure on Cambridge’s biggest threat? Many travelling down?

1-0 City
