In the interesting stat (or not) field.

Grimsby have 1/3 of their wins against Crawley this season.

I wonder why Crawley will not make the play offs?

Casey
You are also the only team we’ve managed to put 2 goals past at Blundell Park this season.

Crawley had a friendly at Dorking Wanderers this lunchtime.

We lost 3-0. Dorking were near the top of National South when their season was ended.

Mostly our bench and youngsters but had a enough first teamers (or teasers) to make that a little embarrassing. Lets just say the players needed that run out and put it behind us.

Sadly, our 22 year old midfielder and captain Lewis Hardcastle has had to retire due to a recently uncovered heart condition. Can't imagine how he is feeling.

That’s a real shame. Obviously his health is the most important thing but he looked one of your better players in the game up here. Didn’t realise he was only 22.

Absolutely gutted for him. He was our one player from last season I thought would go on and have a good career in the League, and maybe seemed a bit under pressure as captain at the start of the season.

Hope we can keep him on in some capacity.

I’ve just seen the figures that Brentford and Exeter will get for each Watkins appearance (up to £5m) and the numbers are insane. Maybe I’m naive to what these add ons usually contain but £1m per competitive start is eye watering.

Fair play to Exeter, they’ll be the richest team in League 2 for the next 10 years.

Didn't Denzel say it was 150k. We get something like that, though not quite that much, each time Dean Henderson plays for ManU

Brentford get 1mn for an appearance, we get 15% of that. Though I was wrong as it's only 150k if he starts. If he is sub we 'only' get 75k.
The maximum we will get from all the add ons, which include Villa staying up, will be 750k.
Not to be sniffed at, but I certainly dont think it makes us the richest club in league two.

we get 10k every time Dean Henderson makes an appearance for Man Utd. Not much but it will all add up. Here’s hoping they sell De Gea in the summer and make Henderson the permanent number 1.

Robert Sanchez who we had on loan 2 years ago is in the current Spain squad.

Given it was clearly down to his loan spell here that he developed so well I reckon we should be owed a bonus of some sort.

Ahem.

Bobby Sanchez did require a spot of seasoning "oop North" as well...

And his successor as as loanee goalie up here, Gavin Bazunu, is currently with the Irish Squad.

Cannot disagree.
Sanchez did good for FGR while he was with club, spectacular is a good description, but still needed to improve that only playing at a club in higher division could accommodate.

Yesterday was our tenth anniversary of our winning the conference (Blue Square Bet Premier League) and gaining promotion to the Football League. A lovely away win at Tamworth in the sunshine.

That team would wipe the floor with us today. I would probably swap the keepers and there's a shout for the right back but we are no longer in that class.

It's been an up and down time since then. New money to no money. Promotion and relegation. The promotion was a grind, the relegation a heartbreak. If we had won our last two games we would have stayed up and we were winning both in the 85th minute (or something).

Here's hoping for a successful next ten years with a promotion (or two) and no relegation.

Chances of next weekends games going ahead? I suspect they will be pushed forward or back.

It’s at 3pm with a period of National silence I believe so will assume they kick off 12pm or Friday night possibly (as Sunday would rule out with Tuesdays games). Sunday wouldn’t be too bad for us we can just hotel up there Sunday to Tuesday then!

Not sure why they need a big press release to tell us they're kicking off at 3.01pm.

Everybody is playing the following Tuesday, it's a full fixture list. Lunchtime kick-offs would make sense.
