Mendes Gomes must be worth a few bob.

Aye he's a quality player, right up there as one of the best in this division all season. Problem today is he's having to pretty much do it all by himself as the likes of Cole Stockton just not been in this at all.

My suspicion is Morecambe are getting fatigued so reckon Newport will get one or two in extra time.

Newport had the better of that half, but if they don't take their chances Morecambe capable of sneaking it on the break.

Bringing O'Sullivan on has been a smart move by Adams. Has stopped Haynes feeling like he has the freedom to come forward now. Does feel like it's just drifting to pens.

What a shit advert for L2 football. Can't see either of these two sides starting up in L1.

Could do with the 'instant result' button you used to get in Ultimate Soccer Manager here.

Oh dear....

Multiple things wrong with that decision not least it wasn't even in the box.

There’s something very ironic about Morecambe fans being endlessly salty with Bolton when our lad made a meal of a challenge (which was a clear booking and sending off) in their defeat to us, blaming us for costing them a place in the autos, now celebrating a clear dive to potentially win a playoff final.

That's a controversial call, to put it lightly. Contact definitely outside the box and really not much of it to begin with, but he falls in the box and you can see why the referee would give it as a penalty from his angle even if it is definitely the wrong call.

Newport immediately made to rue Labadie's terrible miss at the end of the first half of extra time.

Not only has O’Sullivan stopped Haynes getting forward, he’s also won a pen off him and now he’s been hooked. Great sub by Adams tbf.

Indeed, that's why I don't often get worked up about refereeing decisions in Vale games any more. All evens out but even so that is a hell of a kick in the nads for Newport if this costs them promotion. Not that if it was the other end someone like Labadie wouldn't have done the same.

Got to feel for Newport here. Been by far the better team and that's never ever a pen, shocking to give that in such a big game.

Same against Tranmere especially in the first leg. They are just a shithouse team. Fair play if it works

I do wonder how this style of football will go down with Bradford fans if Adams isn't off to a flyer there. Can see they might turn pretty quickly. Morecambe will have been used to this from when Bentley was manager.

Well done to Morecambe, been an incredible season from them.

Commiserations to Newport fans, did not deserve to lose that today and certainly not like that.

Typical Morecambe game. Shitehousing their way to a dodgy win.

Congrats to Morecambe, finished 4th so thoroughly deserve it. Bit lucky with the pen but you make your own luck over the season.

Must be absolutely devastating for Newport to lose a play-off final in that manner, absolutely undeserved.

Congratulations to Morecambe though, reaching the 3rd tier for the first time in their history. And hey, if a club as small as Accrington Stanley can survive in League 1, no reason whatsoever Morecambe can't do the same. Especially if they can keep Mendes-Gomes, he looks a real talent.

Weird one because all I've seen on twitter is our fans saying they don't care how bad the football is as long as it gets us up. But they said this under Bowyer and eventually he was hounded out for the shit style, despite getting results.

You'll never see Madley referee at Rodney Parade after this, ever, he'd get crucified.

Morecambe are a horrible cheating side, have been all season. 24th next season hopefully.

You say that but we've had Craig Shakespeare despite abominable performance at Gillingham against us

Madley probably gets stick at most grounds tbf, after those disabled comments and the dog bothering rumours.

Talking of which, Mike Dean will definitely never referee one of our games. Not that he gets many EFL gigs.

Never a pen in a million years but Newport have been cheating shithouses for years so what goes around comes around.

Fair play and well done to Morecambe, whatever you think of Del Boy he's worked a small miracle there.

Judging by his reaction at the final whistle, IMO that was of a man who knows he won't be there next season, but I guess time will tell.

However for Newport to lose the game in that manor is shocking, if that was given against me I'd probably have a chip on my shoulder all summer so I feel for them after that. Personally I hate seeing games with so much riding on them decided on a decsion like that, plus they should've had a penalty in the first half.

It was Morecambes day and time it seems.
