After last seasons preferred front pairing , I’d take mobile! Always liked Bishop for obvious reasons back in and around the Munto day’s.

I don’t think Angol liked was cold too much during the Notts derby at Meadow Lane once he stripped off and came on as a sub. Spent most of the time on the deck, hope Hemmings is a better strike partner for our other new striker

Angol changed the game when we came on against Notts, set up the effort which the keeper made a great save and was involved once the build Up to the penalty

Is Hemmings actually that quick? I wouldn’t say so. Anyway Neal Bishop apprently close to signing for us.
Allegedly we were in the running too. Might prove to be wrong but I'm not too upset if we have missed out. We don't have a young midfield as it is, so a 36 year-old would really push it. I know he was a great lower league midfielder but his game relies on hassling and being energetic and that can't be easy at 36.

Will always be a fan of Bish's, ended on a sour note at our place five years back, but has had a decent career since. However he'll be 37 three days after the start of next season!

Looks like this Harry Davis rumour is true, certainly done pretty well at St Mirren but then again, Scottish football is shite.

In fact Crewe fans, why do you dislike Davis? He's played in a side that got promoted from this division, played in a side that had a good first season in League 1.

St Mirren fans love him (though pinch of salt as I said) but based on his career he looks a very good signing.

The majority of Grimsby fans wanted Hurst out... FACT! The cods on here seem to forget the rest of us were around when the constant moaning/abuse was going on. Halifax and Braintree DID happen you know, it wasn't our imaginations. Vile abuse.

The chairman spells it out loud and clear in a statement, Hurst visibly gives it back to the Grimsby fans on the pitch post wembley win after abuse all season yet you lot on here won't admit it.

Reason being you're all embarrassed plain and simple. I would be too look what you ended up with. Karma my fishy friends, karma!

Crikey are you alright mate?

Majority is clearly not true, some did though. The reasoning is above you but you've managed to type all of that in a rage about a manager who left us almost 2 years ago, tragic.

Also 'look where that got us' it got us sat on the same points as you lot in the same league. Which granted, we're not used to being that low but we'll have to get over that one.

I could go on for hours about my vehement dislike of Davis Jnr but the last thing he did at this club was arguably his worst act of his time at Crewe. He went on strike and refused to train/play when his Dad was sacked which led to him immediately being shipped off to St Mirren and given notice that his contract wouldn't be renewed in the Summer as a result of his actions. That sums up the character and lack of professionalism from the tosser for me. But he's nowhere near as big a tosser as his Dad that's for sure.

Add to the fact he was a poor defender (though not our worst as JJ rightly says, we did employ Danny O'Donnell and Thierry Audel after all) on a huge pay packet he barely deserved despite spending a 3 year spell missing half our league games and having no resale value in him whatsoever and the fact he always was excused for making mistakes in games whereas others were thrown under the bus. I've always said if his surname wasn't Davis he would've been released from his contract in 2014, but the nepotism (which isn't his fault I must stress) was very evident during his time here. A lot of fans were very glad to see the back of him once his Dad was sacked and his subsequent actions pretty much turned a few who were supportive of him against him for sure.

Fair, always willing to give them a chance at a new club. Lincoln and Wrexham fans told us Jon Nolan was shit & he was one of League 1s best players last year.

Maybe being away from his Dad is what he needed all along. And with Davis Snr not having many allies at the club towards the end of his reign at Crewe, he was never going to get rid of Harry, which is probably why Harry got paid ridiculous contracts to stay with us.

That said, any player who goes on strike at this club won't be remembered fondly by me and I'm sure our fans will give him the stick he deserves in our two games next season (should he be fit for them).

That's not true, can't be bothered to trail through all the previous posts but I said Nolan was never a bad footballer ability wise, it was more his attitude at Lincoln that was more of a concern. We didn't use his footballing skills in those dark days either so he didn't fit.

Nah his attitude was shit but clearly there was a good player in there and Hurst was the man to bring that out.

Yeah the guy literally went on strike until we let him leave.

Yup, Nolan was clearly talented but had a rubbish attitude and lower league/non-league football didn't suit him, didn't like getting stuck in. That was clear from pre season friendlies when he had plenty of time on the ball and could spray it about and cruise around. I always said he would be better at a higher level where he had more time on the ball.

Looks like Adam Collin is going to Carlisle. People on Twitter saying Sheridan took him to Notts, he'll surely taken him to Carlisle and Adam Collin is liking the tweets. He's either trying to get signed up there or its already on the cards

Why people go on other clubs forums and messageboards I will never know. I can’t stand my own clubs very popular unofficial messageboard let alone any other teams.
Attracts the worst type of fan at either end of the spectrum.

Grab a beer, place a bet, buy something online, kiss someone. Anything.

Just googled Grimsby fan abuse and came right up. Fits nicely into my point so brought said thread to the fore.

Anyway point proven to SOC (yet again), last I'll say on the matter (this week).

Sorry but what League were GTFC in when Nolan came here and excelled? :dk:

Why are you so bothered about Grimsby Town?
We are of no significance to you now that you are 2 leagues above us, as you said in March that you would be..........

Quelle surprise, not one of you contest my point after the evidence provided. Well I'll be damned your honour.

Court adjourned, Fish, SOC and Paul you're all on bail, sentencing will be May 2019...likelihood is you'll be going down:fart:

Interesting question Stringy .

My question. Who would you have rather had playing next season at Field Mill? Hemmings or Angol?

I only saw them play at Meadow Lane last season, and one was a sub so I have no idea who is the better forward. We are desperate for pace now Forte has gone thats for sure

Hemmings has a better work rate, all round game and unlike Angol looked interested last season, so I'd rather have had Hemmings.

Angol could be profilic but has a lot to prove and at this time I wouldn't want to be relying on him as a main striker.
