ITK account on Twitter (so clearly a load of bollocks) claims that we have rejected an offer from Cardiff for Mo Eisa that, with add-ons, equates to 7 figures.

Personally, if it's over £400k up front then I'd snap their hands off.

I'm going to say it now, I think Cliftons a bit overrated. Wouldn't dare say that on The Fishy or Twitter, that said he's well worth keeping on and it's nice to see youngsters finally get the chance here, very rarely happens.

Glad Clifton's signed a new deal. Showed real drive to get results at the back end of the season. Fab to see local lads getting a chance. He's got improvements to make of course and given more first team minutes, he'll flourish I hope.

He is far from the finished article, I agree. He stood out in contrast to what Slade had been serving up though. I could see him as being more of a box to box midfielder, which is what has been hinted at. I don't think he is silky enough to play out wide but he is technically good enough to keep hold of the ball and his workrate is great. If he can be taught how to make decisions well and if he can improve his defensive attributes I think he can go on to be a decent player over the next few years. He seems like he has his head screwed on too.

This and Wright signing up will give the academy players hope though, which might be what has landed them 2/3 year deals as opposed to single year contracts.

Aaron McGowan is going to Motherwell (she's fine thanks!) on a free so we get nothing for him despite him coming through our academy.

That now leaves us with about 4 players at the moment. One is a new lad called Gomes who used to be on A.Madrid's books, so we'll piss this tinpot league.

Dan Jones has signed a new contract with Notts - really good news, as good as you’re going to get for an attacking full back at this level. Only problem with him is that he’ll inevitably miss a few games with injury each season, but we seem to have someone in Kellett who can fill in and do a similar job when needed.

Two new bids in for strikers, one is a non league striker apparently who we’ve met the release clause for... possibly Oswell from Stockport, although we had reps at the Vardy academy event a couple of days ago...

In terms of Dennis we pulled out of that not because of the fee but he had ridiculous wage demands apparently.

Neal Bishop to Mansfield is a done deal. Happy with this one.

Probably exactly what we need. Yes, age isn’t his friend, but hes played 80 odd games for scunthorpe which are easily bette r than any side here this season.

Put him with a fast midfielder which we’ve an few of and it should work well, maybe diamond formation allowing Mellis etc to get forward?

Irrespective, our midfield was our weakest link last season, and he’s a more than competent player at this level.

Bishop is exactly the type of midfielder we needed to be fair, if he can do a good job for Scunthorpe last season in L1 he should be able to for Mansfield a level lower.

Nice not to lose out on this one to Lincoln like Frecklington.

IF we were ever in for him and with our already not so young midfield of Freck and Bostwick, I highly doubt it.

In other news (as we haven't signed any new players since last week) we have announced a new chairman today. South African and newly found yellowbelly Clive Nates is taking over the reigns from Bob Dorrian. Sounds like more foreign investment is coming into the club from his dealings with Sportsvest. The new vice chairman is lifelong fan Roger Bates so I am hoping this last successful two years with CN and co being involved will carry us forward for the next few years.

I love these transfer twitter accounts. One with 3 tweets and two followers have claimed Tisdale is bringing in Ryan Harley to join him. As much as I like Harley purely because of his goal against QPR the last time he was here, if we are going to Exeter for players he isn't in my top 4

As Branston says, a new Chairman for us today after Uncle Bob stepped down on Monday, as expected. No surprise Clive's been elected either alongside Roger as Vice Chairman. Bob only took the Chairmanship because no-one else wanted it after Steff Wright could see what was coming and stepped back very quickly.

It doesn't actually change anything, though, because it's one vote per person on our Board and being Chairman here doesn't hold any additional power - you just have to talk to the media a bit more!

Pleased Roger's been voted in as Vice Chairman. A local, Lincoln fan and did tremendously well to keep our Youth Academy going whilst we were receiving no funding in the NL. Think he fundraised £300k-£350k for it over the 6 years we were down there.

You probably was, no reason to highly doubt it really.

I know it’s easier to say it was just ‘agent’ talk because you missed out but that’s football, even happens to Man Utd.

Of course, we will get outbid by lots of clubs and if this happened with Bishop that's fine. Agents don't always get things right. Regardless, Bishop will be a decent player for the Stags no doubt.

Thanks, so just disagreeing with someone else now makes me and Lincoln fans sooo up themselves.

See, you’re exactly right, frecklington was the midfielder we so badly needed for myriad of reasons, he chose Lincoln for many reasons and our midfield struggled as a result. We had a squad full of promising players (ridiculous though it sounds, a league 2 Arsenal) great players for the level but no leaderships on or off the field which we didn’t have under Evans.

I hope we’ve a more sensible approach this reason

Just wondering if everyone’s got an academy player for their 18? Can imagine a few teams falling foul of the rules. I think our two younger players have been signed on longer contracts to combat this, as it’ll be 2 players out of the 18. Obviously we’d like to have a full squad of homegrown players but fair play to the FA for enforcing the rules.

Tom Hamer and George Edmundson were 2 of our back 4 at the back end of the season so no issues for us.

Got some bite in him, ahem...

We have signed Will Patching, (another central midfielder) from Man City. Looks like one for the development squad...

I thought this at first, but having had a chance to look him up a bit, it looks like a bit more of an exciting signing than I initially realised. Derby had agreed a fee for him in January but he turned them down, and there's a few academy coaches and scouts on Twitter saying that they're very surprised he's dropped down to League Two.

Another small, ball playing type to go with Kellett and Crawford, definitely suggests that Nolan is planning to overhaul our style to make us more of a passing team. Think we're surely going to be going 3-5-2 as well, we've obviously signed Hemmings and Dennis to be a pair upfront and Kellett/Patching look like they've been signed to play as a number ten with two of O'Connor/Husin/Hewitt/Crawford sitting behind them.

Also struggle to see where Liam Noble fits in now, particularly if O'Connor signs a new deal.

What's this rule?? We don't even have an academy.

One of the match day 18 has to be "club-developed", although I can't find out what that actually means in practice. I think there's one or two other clubs who don't have academies either (Yeovil maybe), i'm not sure whether it would still apply and you'd have to only field six subs.

Will be a good opportunity for what seems to be a good crop of Under 18s at Notts as there's no one older than that left with a contract.

“Apparently nothing, nothing apparently”

Very happy with the D Jones signing on again , if Duffy follows suit as he surely will , that’s a more than good enough back 4 to challenge near the top of this league, who all know each other’s game inside out which should help at the start of the season.
