Not sure Hartlepool have signed that much quality really. Magnay was decent in the conference but that's about it, other than that just really average players. 15-24th

Fucking hell you must be a genius if that turns out to be correct!

I like Noble, ignoring his lack of intelligence, and his anger issues. My main problem is he tries to do too much, too often when passing the ball. He's tries passes his skill level doesn't support. If he keeps it simple he's an effective midfielder.

Pretty much exactly how I saw him when he was with us.

Tom Miller is an interesting one. In the 30-odd games he played for us he was nothing more than a competent Conference-standard defender. The most memorable thing about him was his long throw and the online death threats he received from South Korea when he broke Lee Chung-Yong's leg in a friendly we played against Bolton. We had to close down the club site and messageboard due to a tsunami of online hatred. It was pretty nasty.

He must have improved a hell of a lot with Lincoln. I remember him returning to the field after a particularly dismal performance against Bath City. Justin Edinburgh had clearly had a massive go at him in the dressing room and good old Danny Potter had his arm round him and was obviously giving him a bit of encouragement. He was just as poor in the second half and never played for us again.

Solid, uninspiring but definitely not League material for us ... must be the coaching staff at Lincoln
Miller has played for us for the past 3 seasons and each season he's been our best player very consistent excellent defender quite a few assists and scores a few goals to boot.
We will miss him this season and if he does sign for Carlisle then they will be getting a very good defender.
I remember his first game for Lincoln where he played against Newport and he was unplayable got a assist, clean sheet and MOM so a bit of sour grapes here.

We've signed Alex Rodman who played for Gateshead last season. Apparently Butcher was lining up a deal to take Rodman to Hibs but he was sacked before the deal took place. Butcher's obviously cherry picking a team from the Conference. It worked with Inverness ... I think we will have an interesting season.

Rodman played for us in our first season back in the FL. Had the odd moment of magic but mostly another disappointing Mills signing. Plus if Lindon Meikle does end up joining County as the rumours have it, I can really see them struggling this season.

He did score a cracking own goal at home to Exeter though!

I genuinely want to cry...:(
It would be a big blow.....The only plus I can see is that we would have a decent wage to offer someone else as I imagine we pushed the boat out to try and keep him.

We'll see but if he does go, Swindon have themselves a decent player.

I think we will be comfortable next season. No promotion push and no relegation battle - which will be a welcome change after the last few seasons (but we live in hope of 'doing a Wycombe').

I think Yeovil may struggle, & Mansfield without Rakish..

Advanced talks with a striker and keeper. Keeper is a loan, striker has been in League 1 for the past couple of years/

Fucking hell, another fan misplacing belief in his team. You finished 22nd last season - there is definitely a good chance of you fighting relegation again next season.

I can't see Plymouth worrying about relegation too much, apart from that I wouldn't disagree with any of the teams listed there (assuming you also meant to include Mansfield that is).

Yeah I'd include mansfield in that too, Could easily be down there again if things don't click.

But i don't see much of a difference between our signings and Cambridge's, Barry Corr, Id rather take a punt of a pacey Matt Green. Roberts is just the same sort of player as collins, if not as good with the ball or a quick. Keane is just as good as Chapman, who is a very creative player. But id say you had a better team to start with. Although an ageing team doesn't do much for future hopes.

And for Hartlepool, sorry but its mostly the same squad but with 4 very average signings who haven't done much in this league, Its a shame three teams don't go down because Hartlepool were as bad as Cheltenham and tranmere (and so were we, nearly haha) so i don't get where this new found confidence is coming from. Also don't understand the Ronnie Moore Hype, he's just your average experienced league manager that if he was any good wouldnt be at Hartlepool. You will be right back down there now the new manager affect has gone, which is what pulled you over the line.

Clarke is decent but hoping for more of a target man really, need something different to Rico and Toney. Especially as I really think Ivan will kick on this season.

Bit underwhelmed at the deals so far but i'll give Rodman a chance, we need quality soon though.

We've been linked with Danny Gabbidon & Alan Tate. Going to take these rumours with a severe pinch of salt given who we've actually managed to sign so far.

Forum chat but we've been linked with Josh Simpson of Crawley Town who's turned down a new contract.

Being a dreamer, I'd love Robbie to stay and re-unite "The Simpsons." Both were different class at City and I can't understand why we let him go when I see the crap we retained....... but, being a dreamer looking forward, I'd rather have George Green.

ManU have released Ben Amos... not that he'd come down to this level, but I thought it was interested news for the other Carlisle fans nonetheless.

How can we be as bad as Tranmere &'Cheltenham when we pulled back a 10 & 14 points deficit on them.
Yes we were utter shyte until Moore came in.As for the new manager effect, even that didn't happen straight away, it took a few weeks for him to sort it out,we were that bad.
We have confidence now because the squad's being reshaped, the turn around towards the end of the season & we can see it continuing.
Most of you think we'll still struggle which is fair enough, but I can't see it

Seems like Peterborough are resuming their interest in Mark Cullen, although it could just be guesswork based on their interest back in February.

Hope it's true. Get a decent fee for him, sign some players that actually a) fit how we want to play and b) want to be here. c) are actually good enough to play League One level would be nice too. Still can't for the life of me figure out why Peterborough want the guy. He's a solid but unspectacular League Two striker currently. I'm really not sure of his ability to step up, give him chances in the 18 yard box and he will score goals, but he's too slow to spring the offside trap and nowhere near skillful enough to self-create, so he really needs perfect service every week.

Generally you need a bit more ability than just a pure goal poacher to step up.

I remember many years ago thinking similar about Jordan Rhodes.

When Jordan Rhodes was the same age as Mark Cullen is now, he'd just scored 29 goals in his first full season in the Championship. Not to mention the 71 goals in the three prior seasons at League One level. Or the £8.5 million in transfer fees racked up.

It's not impossible for pure(ish) poachers to step up of course, but generally they have to be exceptionally good at poaching goals to do so. Cullen is a decent enough goalscorer at this level, but he's certainly not exceptional. He's essentially a poor man's Matt Tubbs - and he failed at League One too.

He's young enough to improve some still of course. But if he ever scores 20 goals in a single League One season I will eat my (metaphorical) straw boater.

Don't think we'll be pushing up too many sticks here next season personally. We've still only got one CB signed with us for next season. We can be included in the relegation lists.

Just getting the pessimism in early.

Also looks like the KMB to Orient rumours have died down, which is very good news for them. One to avoid!

Ronnie Moore was our third new manager that season and the only to bring the so called 'New Manager Affect' you mention.

I think we will be fine.
