We’ve been rumoured to be interested in him for a number of weeks and we are after another CB, so kindly refrain from offering him anything please. Thank you.
Confirmed, apologies!

Rumours of Aaron Pierre on a free to Sutton after leaving Shrewsbury. Any thoughts on this one? Northampton fans?

I wouldn't have minded if he had come back to us to strengthen our back four options, not sure why Shrewsbury released him but he was a solid defender, a good left foot and contributed with a number of goals as well.

This was the reason according to a Shrews fan -

'He was a very good League 1 centre back when we first signed him a few seasons ago and even won player of the season. However, he came back from a lengthy spell out from injury at the start of last season and he just wasn’t the same. His good days are past him and his attitude isn’t the best. He returned back to the squad very overweight and unfit and carried a very ‘I’m not bothered’ attitude in terms of shifting the weight.

Obviously he’s had no pre season so I dread to think what his weight looks like now. I’d stay clear if I was you as there’s not a chance he’ll last more than 15-20 games.'

He was also decent at Wycombe but headbutted a fan in a car park as well which I think helped his exit there. (Pierre's Wycombe career, not the fan attempting to get out of the car park)

Maybe not the best pre season but it’s fairly likely he’s been spending some time trialling/training with other clubs. I’d back our management to get the best out of him.

Hearing rumours of Asante to West Brom from $alford from a baggies friend of mine - not sure how much truth there is to it but anything that weakens those palm oil merchants is music to my ears.

A. Striker to Grimsby is rumoured, if that falls through, A.N Other-Striker to Grimsby. We only sign strikers from other clubs, as opposed to free agents, on average, about once every 10 years. I hoping this deal, if it materialises, ranks with the signing of Clive Mendonca...

Charley Kendall on loan from Lincoln for season for Sutton. One keeper (likely back up) and we’re done.

Mark Hughes has said he wants another couple of players in before Thursday. Not sure what positions we'd be after really.

I’m not surprised to be honest! I think we need another CM. Having just Smallwood, East, Sutton and Gilliead doesn’t fill me with much confidence.

Sutton and East are powderpuff at best, and Gilly isn’t a CM; but admittedly, his athleticism has faired him through the games so far. It’s clear he doesn’t see Songo’o as a midfielder, and with Osadebe injured, we’re short there.

But we all know it’s gonna be Dion Pereira, don’t we?

The other area could be LB.

Almost 20,000 through the gates for the cup games so far - which will aid the playing budget no end.

Agree. I'd be very happy with Dion coming back. A level of trickery and pace that will help us get past those stubborn and anti-football type sides. Another CM would be nice. I agree again - Don't think Sutton or Gilly there is good enough. I am still scratching my head at Sutton's contract extension. He hasn't looked the same since he had Covid, was it? I like East though.

Agreed. East has shown up well so far and was excellent tonight. Sutton just gets worse everytime I see him however.

He's better getting game time in L2 than the odd 10/15 minutes off the bench here and Pizza Cup games. It's obviously a massive step up from the NLS to L1 and we play with a lone striker as well.

We've not seen that much of him but from pre-season showings, he's a fox in the box type, a definite finisher. It's whether he can develop the physical side of his game. He's only 21, so plenty of time.

Rushian Hepburn-Murphy is supposedly signing. Ex- Villa wonderkid, played handful of games in the PL before ending up playing for Paphos in Cyprus. In keeping with a few of our signings, he is currently recovering from injury! Also a young back-up keeper from Galway, Conor Brann.

Hoping for an-experienced RB - maybe Tomlinson from Posh.

A finisher/fox in the box is just what we need. We’ve been struggling to put away our chances and should be 3-6 points better off by now given how games have gone.

Harry Smith seems to be getting a few mentions. Am I right in thinking he's not your typical Wellensball player, Orient fans?

We do desperately need a target man. As well as a McKirdy replacement a winger and a right back. Have you heard anything or are you just looking to get shot of him already?

Just me putting him in the shop window. I actually think he’ll come good, but I just struggle to see where he fits in here at the minute.

Dion Pereira would be a great signing for you, if he doesn’t come back here.

If Dion ends up anywhere in league 2 other than here, I'll be gutted. Personally I'm confident he'll be here tomorrow.

He’ll get his chance I’m sure and has time on his side, I hope we don’t let anyone go now. We’ve got rid of the crap and for the first time since we returned to this level have strength in depth. I expect the dogs to take their loanees back in January so we don’t want to be losing any permanent players at this stage.

You signed a ready-made winger and right back from us!

Doidge on loan could be part of any McKirdy deal with Hibs.
