Mate, there's a u in Favourite, don't go American on me, please.
I was spelling it like that until I noticed it kept flagging up on my spell checker that 'favourite' was spelt incorrectly, and the changeable option was 'favorite'

Not a chance mate. We haven't even got a team let alone a squad sorted out yet. It will be nice to see Lee Evans if he gets a game.

Doubt he will be with us much longer mate. He got dropped for a couple of games and had a tantrum on Twitter with him and brother trying to engineer a move to Watford. Since then he's hardly had a game, think he might leave this summer to be honest, especially with how many midfielders we already have.

Would rather it have been away though, new ground and we can play in our new blue away kit... basically can only play in it against Hull, Newport and Blackpool in the FL

Southend away. Been before. Tuesday night really doesn't appeal.

Good draw for us too that. How many do you expect to bring to the Kenny?
Perhaps a small chance for TV, with not many standout ties?
Reckon there might be a decent amount for a League Cup tie, maybe 7-800. Haven't visited for a while, not too far to travel and possibility of some sort of atmosphere rather than your standard early round snoozefest. Could've drawn a lot worse.

Outside shot for TV maybe, think the blue few are more likely to get the nod tbh. Then there's Portsmouth v Derby, Accrington S v Hull, Doncaster v Leeds... I can't see it really.

Have you seen our League Cup record? Played 8, lost 8. I suppose it'll end sometime but I can't see it this year.

Ah, but we're the masters of assisting to break records or end bad runs.

Our league fixture against Leeds has been moved back to Sunday so Sky can broadcast Doncaster - Leeds on the Thursday. Why the Thursday ffs?

:ffs: on so many levels.

Firstly, why are League Cup games now happening on Thursdays?

Secondly, that Leeds game is moved so that Leeds have 3 days between rather than 2. But it now means we have 2 days rather than 3 between Leeds and Sheffield Wednesday on the Tuesday..

Sheffield Wednesday away will more than likely be moved to Wednesday evening.

Doncaster v Leeds is on Thursday night instead of Wednesday night due to Champions League qualifiers on the Wednesday night and Uefa dont like domestic matches being shown live on tv the same evening as Champions League matches.

Not really 'fucked about' when it'll be re-arranged a full 7 weeks at least beforehand

Unlike Rovers we have a healthy number of fans who live outside the city and may need to book days off...

And seeing as we can play Saturday/Monday at Easter and Xmas I'm certain Reading can play two games early on.

Leeds couldn't play Thursday/Saturday... which is why our game has been moved in the first place. Don't see how Thursday/Saturday not being possible is much different from Sunday/Tuesday.

Might get recommended too so both Sheffield clubs aren't playing the same day.

They're away at Peterborough so that is utterly irrelevant.

I'm almost certain we've played Sunday/Tuesday several times, it's hardly a hardship is it.

No it won't.... Why should we?

O yes it will.I do agree that playing on a Sunday and then a Tuesday in August shouldn't be that much of a problem. The players should be more than capable of it.Besides we will lose whether its a Tuesday or a Wednesday.

Hold up, Leeds argument is that they play twice in less than 48 hours, whereas ours isn't, I suspect we can ask the FL to reject the request.... Just looked at our 11/12 season we played a Carling Cup tie on Thursday (drab 0-0 went to ET) then played at Bournemouth Saturday....

Yeah Sheff Wed can refuse i believe. We wanted our game with Watford last season moved to the Friday night instead of the Saturday as we were playing Bradford in the cup quarter final replay on the Monday night and wanted an extra days rest between the games which Watford turned down.

Il be there if it is a Tuesday or Wednesday so im not bothered which day it is on.

Understandable. A prestigious European competition is always going to attract more viewers than the Champions League.

It turns out there are no champions league games on the Tuesday or the Wednesday.
