Quite frankly, we’ll be very lucky to stay up, given how strong this division has become. Pretty much a Premier League III at this stage.
I dont think the league is as strong as it was two three seasons back. More teams will fancy to get at least a play/off position
Charlton and Wrexham were awful last season but they grinded out wins.....I doubt George Graham had more 1-0 wins than Parkinsons Wrexham.......Orient recruited well and used the loan System to get into the play-offs....Stockport for me Birmingham apart were the best team in the league and they trod the same path as you are doing this season.
The problem is the teams at the bottom end are decent and are masters of shithouse tactics and will be hard to beat

I definitely underestimated the league last time we came up. The actual general play isn't hugely different but the difference in both boxes , especially amongst the top 10, is huge. We regularly got punished by the opposition who actually only had 1 or 2 clear cut chances in the whole game, but then once ahead, their defence was so strong that you just couldn't get back into a game. Sheffield Wednesday at home comes to mind...they had very few chances, scored from a pot shot and then saw out the game comfortably. Bolton similar in our 2nd season.

I think a team of our resources will have to improve incrementally over a few seasons to be amongst the better teams in both boxes.

I still think back to our 1st season back in the league 3 years ago. We were comfortable in midtable up until Christmas, with some big hitters in that league. We beat Derby and Plymouth away and our squad was significantly weaker than it is now. We started the season with a youth team midfielder playing up front. We must surely be able to improve on that team with a much higher budget. We won't trouble the top half, but I think we'll be relatively comfortable this time.

You have made a great start on the recruitment front Gabriel is a excellent signing for this league
Your kits look great and your season tickets are up.
I thought you would win the league last season....I have no doubts you will stay up

The away one is likely to be in the same vein, imagine it will likely be Black and Gold stripes.

Gabriel looks a decent signing on paper and in an area we are fairly strong in with Headley, Kyle John and hopefully if he resigns Mitch Clark at wing back, all be it I think Mitch may turn down a new deal as we have apparently only offered one year and a trigger due to injuries.

I am fairly confident we will stay up, we beat 6 clubs to Gabriel according to his agent and it came down to picking between us and one other established league one club in the final choice so shows we are going to be competitive in the market which gives us half a chance.

On paper the squad is far superior to either 22/23 and 23/24 sides, if Tolaj can bring his 2025 form into the new season that will go a long way for us too.

Who knows yet what the squads will look like in a month but on the early thoughts they are
1. Argyle & Reading to be the hardest places to go to get a result.
2. Wycombe & Orient will do relatively well but not as good as last season due to how good of loans they’ve lost, they’re tricky to replace a lot of misses floating about as we’ve fount that out. Not to mention the play off hangover from losing the final even if they did well to get there it’ll sting coming back for pre season.
3. Blackpool to be the surprise team after a strong finish to last season

Early for this so let’s see but those tipping us for the title or even promotion Im not sure at all. Remains to be seen yet but it’s already been implied by the club that they aren’t going to be going on any spending sprees and what we do spend will likely be offset by sales of for instance Doughty, Aasgaard who will be a huge misses

Even if we do end up spending our performance at doing that well has been frankly awful so I wouldn’t exactly trust the club to spend it well to be honest. Our recruitment has been woeful since we got promoted to the PL and whatever magic we certainly did have in the market (I think on reflection it was mainly down to Jones rather than anything structural at the club) as the club have really struggled to adjust in the market with the additional money. I’m thinking it’s going to be a transitional season as we make a bit of an overdue refresh to the squad and likely be plenty of growing pains as Bloomfield tries to make a squad built for 352 work for him

Generally, the biggest budgets tend to be promoted from league 1. You'll undoubtedly sign a couple of duds but your vastly superior budget to most of the rest of the division will ensure You'll have more than enough to get promoted.
