Fair play to Southend fans today, not for the numbers they brought, but for the fact they got behind their team all game and went absolutely mental after going 2-0 up and at the final whistle. Can't abide away fans that, after winning at another ground 100+ miles away, stand and applaud politely as if they've been at the theatre for 90 minutes. Go fahkin mental or fahk off.

As much as those followings are commendable, I can't help but remind you that people will remember these comments when you are in the bottom 6 of the championship and you have a trip to Bristol City this time next year..I think most would wager extra allocations won't be required then.
Assuming they go up - the likelihood is they won't be playing us, so best to use another example!

When we went Fleetwood in September the Castle was rammed at 12-00pm , full of Vale and Wolves who were at PNE. There was a DJ on who was basically a chubby brown type comedian, ripped the piss out of everyone though one or two yam yam's threw toys out of the pram , i think Wigan may well get 5k. We have taken 4K to Blackers before.

More than 4k. In 93 we took about 6k for the last game of the season.

Poor from us although expected with our away performances this season and the extortionate walk up price, shame as missed a cracker (myself included :()

i thought it was poor to be honest 800 out of a 7000 gate...top of the league 2 form away from home it was below par.

It was a decent following numbers wise, just thought I'd praise the actual backing the fans gave your club rather than the amount there for a change:ds:

Similar to what you would take there of you weren't as good as promoted then??

Took 1600 to Walsall and Coventry so I would say minimum. Love your away end as its so big.
Glad you do,one of the few, a lot of clubs criticise it for the view or say it's too shallow.
i don,t think our ground is too bad apart from the unfinished concrete jungle which will never be built.
Noticed on the goals show that you had both ends yesterday due to one man and his dog from Fleetwood. What was the thinking behind that ? more atmosphere ? Was the attendance bigger than normal ?

We have toyed with swapping home ends but the old bill frown upon it.

Fleetwood just had the seats. The gate was 4415. It was family day so all the kids go in the away end with a paying parent. We did the same last year against accy. We pick games with a small away following so we can put them in the seats.
It added a 1000 to the gate of people that hopefully we can attract when they leave school not to go watch Derby or man Utd on sky sports...
And on vale park - it's a proper ground with big stands. I also love the pubs nearby and have never had any mither. Although our placid away following prob helps that.....

Trouble seems to only be outside the away end, Crewe, Shrewsbury, Sheff Utd, Wolves, those sort of games. Won,t be any mither next weekend and hope you enjoy the plentiful alehouses of Boslem. Bulls Head is a favourite of away fans, made welcome, real ale pub , but you may have to have a huge beard and bad jumper to get in.

Was good enough anything under would have been crap though. Recent form would have knocked a few off regardless of the sacking.

And yes fair play on your home gates almost double what they used to be and numbers we wish we could pull at home. Good new build as well been twice and both times had good days on the town. Weren't a bad atmosphere either

Having looked at the visiting numbers at Wigan this season, I'm surprised to see that the biggest following was Sheff Utd with 1,500 (although i do recall them selling around 2,500 before it was rescheduled)

Big game for us next weekend. Can see us taking 3,500-4,000.

I reckon you will sell all 5k, you can produce outstanding numbers along with some really below par followings too
