The English language is very exact with its meanings of words.
No it isn't. Poets and punsters have been making mileage out of all the ambiguities in the language for centuries. Plus bar really technical stuff hardly anything can be interpreted with much confidence out of context. And we certainly aren't like the French with some official body trying to set in stone what words you use and what they mean.

There is no point trying to reason with an obnoxious idiot like Devon_Twat as he is always right and nobody else’s opinion matters to him.

Best of luck with increasing your trust membership, it isnt for everyone (Wrexham sold out when Ryan Reynolds fluttered his eyebrows) but its suited us well these last 15 years.

Thanks Denzel. Yes when I was thinking about clubs closely involved with a supporters trust Exeter Immediately sprang to mind. Glad to read its been mainly a success.

It hasn't been. It depends on your aspirations. Stable yes, absolutely. Success? I suppose that's based on your view of success. I think the older lot from ECFC class It as being an actual club. Younger lot would rather we went for it and had a bit of investment. I guess next season will show when we have our biggest budget in years.

I'm somewhere in between FWIW. I first started supporting us the year we got relegated to the conference so the tail-end of it. We have been stable and done OK but never going to go any further. Top L2 lower L1 forever under this model IMO.

Just look up the word. The English language is very exact with its meanings of words. Plenty of others on this thread have explicitly used the word prediction in their replies.

Famous debate yesterday was in relation to our No.9 shirt that was famously retired for 9 years in respect to Adam Stansfield. Now we can debate famous until you're blue in the face but it was reported nationally at the time and you'll find it difficult to find anyone in Exeter that wasn't aware of it. People call local shops famous to the area if they are well known. 'That bakery over there is famous for its pasties'

If you want to debate words, their meanings and interpretations then both of these issues you aren't going to win. England isn't like other languages it is very precise and one of the best languages in the world because of it. It's beautiful and people like you bring it to shame.

Grow up.

I appreciate our language but furthermore my distaste for arrogant, ill-educated Northern imbeciles who try to mock people in an attempt to sly a dig in is even more. I gave my opinion to the OP and then answered it respectfully. Your pathetic attack on me for no good reason in a failed and shambolic attempt to humiliate me and embarrass me backfired tremendously when we realised you haven't got a scooby about what you're talking about. You illiterate jobsworth.

You wanted a forum full of likes on your post for cramming in an attack on me, because most don't like me here - And you've shown yourself up to be a right tit.

Mate, if you want an argument take it to PM. If you were so smart, you'd realise that everyone is putting you on ignore, negating the point of being on a forum at all.

You might also want to remove some of the typos, you dim twat.

having no idea who we’re going to have in our squad next season it’s clearly pointless speculating.

However if i was going to take a punt of a guess i bet were shit again.

I’ve just unhidden your posts to find out what on earth is going on as the thread was making no sense. I feel I have to reply as the post I’ve quoted is a gem.

“Linguistic” is an adjective which means relating to languages. So unless you’re saying you’re related to the English language then it’s not the correct word to use.

I sense you mean to use the word “linguist” which is either a studier or a keen user of languages. eg someone is a dual linguist.

I’d expect a “linguistic” to know this.....

Always thought Rovers at least had a wealthy owner backing them. Might be wrong on that though.
They have, he wrote off £35m of debt at the beginning of the season I think.

An easy answer to prove that the English language is flexible. Ronnie Barker.

Interesting...
Grimsby will be relegated in a few hours and we'll be in 7th spot thanks to a Bradford Salford draw and a Newport loss.

Didn't realise our match was kicking off right now?

figuratively

Post of the year. I'd be off back to Spain or wherever it was you went that didn't have any WiFi after that absolute clanger.

For the record, I actually quite liked Devon Lad until the other night when he started hurling uncouth personal insults at me,

Also, 'meanings' needs to be plural.

Sorry to have taken up so much of this thread - I wasn't going to be schooled on the English language by that pretentious knob.

ANYWAY - I expect us to be a bit more competitive next year, as we made so many mistakes this season. We've got to sort out a manager for next season, which we have to get right. Rob Kelly said during his first spell that he didn't want it full-time, but I don't know if he's addressed it since. It's feasible that he could assist Neil McDonald (who is with us as a coach), or Sam Hird, who's been helping out as his number two, but that might be too similar to going down the David Dunn route.

The hope is that we'd be around mid-table, but I'd be happy with lower down if it meant we were playing better football and not hovering so close to the drop.

We won't need a total rebuild, but we need to strengthen in lots of areas. Quigley I'd expect would stay, just because there won't be many clubs willing to pay a decent fee for him. A physical striker is a must, and an aggressive midfielder should be on the shopping list.

If we go up you should come knocking for players who Evatt will either release or wont be in his plans

If we are to persist with a 3-5-2 we definitely need an upgrade on those playing at wing back, despite Brough's recent scoring record.

Yeah, I prefer to have a defender there who can attack, rather than someone like Kay, who can't defend at all. I still think Barry can do a job there but he never really got a proper run of games at right wing-back this season, and is totally lost in midfield. We might change system altogether, but do we have the full-backs for a back four either?

What's the Luke James verdict after a full season?
