I can see Solihull doing this. They are on a great run. For a big one off game you will get bluenoses probably coming out to watch them so the crowd might be artificially higher.
Their main stand is an oddity. More poles than seats. Everyone is convinced Wrexham will do it, but I think there is a twist or two yet.

With Wrexham are they even actually that good? The few times have seen them on BT they’ve looked more functional than anything spectacular for all the money. May well get them over the line and obviously they will spend more next season but wouldn’t surprise me if they fall at the first hurdle in the playoffs.

They are good on their day. But any team that concedes 5 at home to Dover does not deserve to go up…

That’s an impressive scoreline though didn't watch that one. Last saw them against Woking and just remember being very underwhelmed by them. Also going into the playoffs off the back of a bit of a tonking yesterday.

They are a classic Phil Parkinson team.

Imagine having an open top bus parade for finishing 2nd In L2 behind a village team....
Had we finished 2nd, I would have helped pay for the bus. Pleased for Exeter, they deserve it. Pleased for their manager, he deserves it.

Yep very direct. Signing Palmer from Wimbledon in January has made them much more effective at it as well.

They don’t play well as often as you’d expect a team with that many points to but basically score loads and get a huge proportion of their goals from Tozer’s long throws, Davies’ set pieces and Mullin being way too good for the division.

They are quite fragile away from home but due the position they finished in and the nature of the NL play-offs they will have a home tie in the semi-final and then if they get through a neutral tie at the London Stadium.

I like what they’ve done with the playoffs down there, and still believe it should be 3 up 3 down, but however it’s dolled up the bananarama league is hell on earth, a third full of sides you know nothing about and then the season blighted by that stupid fa trophy, we only had 5 seasons down there but the idea of being back in it still gives me shivers.

Like you we had a ridiculous run at the end of the season and pipped kidderminster to the post (i think you went down at kiddy on the last day if memory serves me right).

Kiddy we’re then a busted flush for the playoffs who lost to newport, who then ironically beat wrexham.

May or may not see you next season but it’s nice to have you back and of course a local trip if so.

Nobody is saying Exeter don't deserve it. I just think anyone apart from the Champions having an open top bus parade is a bit cringe

We all have our opinions but after coming near for a few years, I am sure the fans will enjoy saying thank you to their players. Congratulations to you lads too. Don't care for your manager but like all fans(nearly all, even Exeter have a complete turd),you lads are good.

Cheers, about time you guys made it out too!!
Im glad we didnt have anything like that, just the memory of that last game and mad scenes on the pitch (and down Gloucester Road!!) with the players afterwards were enough.

we had 48 years - with only 2 FA Trophy wins and a few promotions back to the NL to celenrate before our return - and even Covid spoilt that - no open topped bus celebration - or any real celebration, and hardly any live matches (3 in total) that we could see 1st season back

Looking at the table above. I think the teams that were challenging this season will do again next with also adding Stockport to the group. Maybe Bradford & Leyton Orient as well. If Swindon can keep there players I can see them winning it.

First of the conference playoffs underway between Notts and Grimsby. Early impressions it’s got a similar dynamic to Vale v Swindon with Notts playing the pretty patterns and Grimsby doing a Vale pressing high and trying a fast paced game. Should be a good watch.

It’s not been a classic like.

Aye not the greatest. You can see the difference in L2 to the conference mainly in the quality of delivery into the box. Been pretty ordinary from both of them.

I’m guessing some of its pressure etc but Notts offer absolutely nothing. Looks a mistake waiting to happen at the back and going forward it looks nice but nothing that really threatens.

I think that’s the kind of loss for Notts that will take them a very long time to recover from.

Are FGR really sure they want this Notts manager as well? Not sure he’s really achieved more than the bare minimum.
