I think that’s the kind of loss for Notts that will take them a very long time to recover from.

Are FGR really sure they want this Notts manager as well? Not sure he’s really achieved more than the bare minimum.

It wasn't that long ago some of their fans wanted him sacked.

He's fucking terrible. I said it on the manager's thread before. They have some of the most talented players in that league by far and they look worse everytime I watch them. They were one of the worst teams to come to our place this season. Forest Green would be doing Notts a massive favour to compo him out so they can get someone decent. I don't know who does his PR but they do a great job.

Bit of a dicey one for the forum this. Notts lads who migrated over to the other place were sound, the Grimbsy lot are weird as fuck.

Wrexham are probably the soundest lot left, I personally wouldn't begrudge them coming up. Loads of our lot would find it hilarious if they didn't but would seem fair to me, two best teams by a mile who will proper add to this league.

I'm backing the Chesterfield mob for promotion, they've a good footy knowledge to meme ratio in them.

Yeah that’s the impression I’m getting. You’ve got players like Wootton up front and Rodriguez in midfield and that’s the best you can come up with? They basically played like a bunch of one trick ponies and deservedly lost. Really poor and I think it doesn’t bode well for them next season either as there’ll be a lot of scars from this.

Looking at the remaining teams I’ve got to be honest none of them particularly enthuse me for differing reasons if we are still here. Wrexham never really interacted with any of their posters on here though they seemed pleasant enough but it always kicks off when we play them and after the scenes at the end of Thursday the last thing we need is more headlines like that. Will say Solihull are my favoured team just for the midlands aspect I guess.

Surely that'll spell the end of that Notts side, attacking wise anyway, no way will Wooton, Rodrigues and Roberts slum it in the NL for another season.

He's our Simon Rusk who luckily we managed to bin in the Autumn to allow Challinor to spring us.

Amongst our promotion talk people have discussed the best, most important games etc. My answer is always when we lost 2-1 at home to Barnet on a Tuesday night back in October which made Rusk's position untenable. Notts have never had that watershed moment, just kind of lurched and zombie walked into it all.

Roberts wanted to join us earlier in the season, I'd certainly take him just injury record is a problem there.

Echo what everyone is saying about Burchnall, totally overrated in the game but fans know how limited he is. If they get a proper manager in they'll do well. Can easily attract the right players being in the Midlands and the biggest club in the league.

The Notts County fans I've seen discussing it can't believe Burchnall would go to FGR because Notts "are bigger and have way more potential", and he 'apparently' turned down League 1 clubs to join them. Of course he did...

I was rather surprised by the quality of the game(or lack of) it was bloody shite, i mean good viewing and good tv but bloody hell.

Of course notts fans always believe they’re a better side than they are, they’re part of the problem of a club with an identity crisis.

No denying stockport won’t be a force next season, but it’s hard to see how grimsby would go on to beat wrexham playing like that.

i believe league 2 will be harder next season than this so keen to get out of it on safurday.

Take it Chezzy have a load of injuries? The commentators only seem to mention it every other fucking minute. When you sign people made of glass like Manny Oyeleke not sure what to expect.

Aye think yellow for Mandeville just about right there. The reaction made it worse than it was though it was shockingly timed.

It’s pretty dire stuff. I think the winner plays Solihull so they must be rubbing their hands watching that.

Wow there really is a difference between the 4th and 5th tier from the matches I’ve seen these last few months, due to how easy teams stay up I presumed it would be similar standard at least near the top. If we ever go down into that pit I hope we just give up…

the quality of the 4 sides last night and tonight leave a lot to be desired.

I mean imagine having to play a game to have the right to play solihull moors!?

Just realised that Halifax keeper is Sam Johnson who came through our youth system. Letting one in at his near post isn’t great. Does make me wonder how Halifax have even won as many as they have this season. They’ve got Jordan Slew up front for fucks sake.

I know you can’t just base it off a small snapshot but any of these teams come up next season look like they’d struggle get above lower mid table.

At least we’ve only ever lost one competitive game to a non league team in our history, so we might do a bit better…

It’s a scary thought though

Have they ever been that well supported though even the old club? Can’t be easy when they have yourselves, Huddersfield and Leeds all nearby. I think on the positive side if they did come up they’d immediately have the best away end in L2 with that big terrace.

they’ve never had many fans, it’s more a rugby league town anyway.
