Well we've done better than we did as a division in the League Cup, and managed to get three teams into the 4th round of the FA Cup.

Oxford v Blackburn
Portsmouth v Bournemouth
Carlisle v Everton

All at home too. Individually each team will be underdogs in their respective match, but there's a reasonable possibility that one of them will make the 5th round.

On paper, Oxford probably have the best chance of getting through. Doing well in the League and having beaten Premier League opposition already this season they now host a struggling Championship team. Oxford could well outplay Blackburn, or perhaps Rovers' minds just won't be on the game. I'm sure Oxford will be going into this game looking for a win.

Portsmouth host a team who, not so long ago, they would have viewed as the small team down the road. In terms of fans, Pompey are still by far the bigger club but their fortunes have gone in opposite directions in the past few years. However, Bournemouth's priority may be on survival. Both teams like to play football in 'the right' way and there's always a faint chance of Pompey turning up big-style on the day.

Carlisle are the only League 2 side with a 'prize' draw in this round and Everton having nothing really to play for in the league while Carlisle focus on catching back up with the play-offs you'd imagine the Toffees doing a professional job over the Cumbrians; however both teams have been unpredictable this season and Carlisle have already embarrased one Merseyside team this season.

I can't wait for our game next Sunday, hopefully we put in a better performance than the last couple of games else we could be on the end of a thrashing.

Everton have already sold out their allocation of 3900, we've sold about 9600 thus far. Should be a sellout.

I think we are capable of producing a shock, but Everton are a good team. I imagine they'll play a mixed team of 1st team players and reserves/youngsters. Curle will likely make a few changes to our team too.

Good luck to them all, keep the Fourth Division flag flying into the fifth round...or at least do yourselves justice both on and off the park...

Everton didn't take us lightly at Goodison, and playing a L2 side away from home they'll be more wary. Wouldn't expect too many youngsters, only three major names to miss out will be Lukaku, Barkley and Stones (plus Howard), you'd imagine.

We've done very well in the cups this season, if nothing else our season will have been a success down to this alone. Anfield and now Everton at home after the floods, alongside all the extra income we'll have earned from however many cup games we've had, we've had plenty of enjoyable cup nights and will hopefully reap the rewards of the money we've earned in the summer.

I do like Everton so won't mind too much getting beaten by them, hopefully we give a good account of ourselves as we have done against higher league opposition every time so far this season. I'd like to see us get the passing game going again, we'll probably lose however we play so why not show some Premier League fans that it's not all hoofball at the bottom end of the Football League.

Our side will be much the same as who beat Birmingham away in the last round. Likely be 11 changes, with 3/4 youth teamers and 7/8 players who are usually in or around the bench all coming in. It's a bit disjointed, and making that many changes will rightly attract stick.

I must admit I don't know a lot about Pompey these days, they don't get much media coverage over here anymore. I heard about Danny Hollands' injury which is a real shame. But if Pompey take it seriously then they have to be in with a shout. I know Matt Tubbs will always be a threat around the box if they play him, and he's always done well against us despite being a Cherries fan and doing naff all for the various stints he played for us.

We're not like other lowly clubs and thinking that this is just some big day out thing for us, we're bigger than that! Cup upsets do happen so I'd expect us to be professional and try to win the match or at least force a replay. We didn't get all the way to the 4th round to play a Premier League team and just say "Oh that'll do" especially with our promotion hopes fading away.

If we play like we did on Saturday then you'll cane us, but without the pressure on us we tend to play a lot better.

Undoubtedly we'll be playing our strongest side available but I'd still expect a defeat. Even if Howe fields a weaker team, they're still going to be the toughest team we've played all season. We may have beaten Derby and Ipswich but everyone will have to be on their game if we're to stand a chance.

Ticket sales for us pushing on 17,000 now (3,600 Everton). Though according to the lass in the ticket office to my mate when he rang up, most of the callers don't know which stand is which.

Only 150 tickets left, so about 17,000 sold now.

Didn't realise Carlisle held 17,000? The open end doesn't hold many, surely, so surprised you can get that many in the remaining three stands.

We've sold out again for the Blackburn game, so with the ludicrous segregation that we have to have it will be between 11,500 and 12,000 on Saturday with Blackburn allocated 1,500.

We should also be close to a sell out for the JPT second leg against Millwall next Tuesday.

Cambridge Utd reached the quarterfinals in 89/90.
Yep, we got done by Palace in the quarters who ultimately lost to Man U in the final.

We were so fucking good in those days that we made the quarter finals the following season too, but as a 3rd tier club.

Anyway, in the interests of not hijacking the thread and doing a Kenny-esque wankfest, best of luck to all League 2 clubs this weekend. I hope at least one of you gets through and gets a plumb draw.

The capacity is actually 18,202, but for this Everton match it's 17,392.

The terrace behind the goal is small, but holds about 1,800 (I think).

I'm guessing the missing 800 is the area covered with the divider in the East Stand and the top-left corner of the Main Stand where the schoolkids usually go, which was empty at the weekend. Could also be they're not selling tickets at the furthest edge of the East Stand where it overshoots the pitch.

We have a lot of terracing and the population density of those areas is massive compared to if a similar sized stand was seated. The total standing capacity of the stadium is 9,000.

get there early to grab your usual spot.

Yeah!

I don't want some gadge who never ever goes to Carlisle matches to get my usual spot, these fecking fair weather and plastic fans coming out of the woodwork when we get a big boy team at home, where were they last season when we were bottom of the league and where were they this season when we were actually doing well? :sna:

About 9000 of them have to answer for that.

You'd rather they didn't show up then? That'd be good for revenue. It isn't a closed shop, some people just can't afford to go to most games or even don't like the club enough to do so but that shouldn't mean they aren't welcome when these days come along. Make the most of it, welcome them and with a bit of luck some of them will come back in a less glamorous match which would help the club start to grow again.
