And to finish below Gateshead "THEY DON'T EVEN AVERAGE 1,000 WTF LING OUT".
Yet their annual playing budget is based on gates of 3000: the chairman bungs in the difference. I know right? How is this allowed? Well, one clue is that Forest Green have always been well represented on the Conference committees, so what Financial Fair Play rules there are, are absolutely meaningless.

Can you really enjoy the football at this level?
Only perhaps, if you've had to endure the football on offer one step down and lower. In contrast, watching a National League game will be like going to a World Cup match, until the effect wears off.

Anyway, don't if I've mentioned it yet, but we're gonna smash it. :bdick::bdick::bdick:

If the chairman wants to pour his own money in, as long as he isn't crippling the club with loans, who cares?
All the other clubs who find the wages & transfer markets artificially inflated, but who have to try and compete while running themselves responsibly, for one. Let me know if you're still so indifferent when you've exhausted your parachute payments in a year or two. :bdick:

What a thoroughly stupid comment.

Of course you can, it might not be ideal, it might not be great, and the chances are the football will be shite.

Will conference football for Orient fans he better with a new owner with a new future to look forward / course it will be!!!

Mansfield are far better than we were when we went down, as are Bristol rovers for instance, look at Doncaster!

Sir, either you know fuck all about football or it's a terrible attempt at a windup

He isn't stupid, ignorant or on a wind up.

He is a Torquay fan who deserves some sympathy.

Some chairman who put in money can pay in form of advertising via a different company, so that money received is Advertising revenue, and added to the clubs official turnover.

Nothing wrong with doing that and it is a back door loophole

Danny Webb, Omer Riza and Martin Allen have all been interviewed for the Head Coaches job.

Not expceting a final decision until next week if I am honest.

I think our chairman is fairly cute with his investment. He owns the online ticketing software that we use and also supplies at least a dozen other clubs. He owns the UK interest of our shirt manufacturer. He owns the restaurant chain that operates at the Hive, an electricity company that supplies the power from the solar panels on the roof and so on. Virtually every advert on the hoardings is one of his companies.

Are we actually playing Orient in a PSF? Nothing has ever been confirmed at this end.

Allen would be your best bet IMO.

He always seems to galvanise teams and is a decent bet for a short term appointment (or not in Eastleigh's case).

Looks like a no, Omer Riza did put on twitter he had originally arranged a game, but since then there has been one or two changes to the schedule he put together. Our friendlies were announced today and a game with Lincoln wasn't on there.

Dulwich Hamlet said they're expecting to play us, but we've not included them in our friendlies announcement either.

I don't think Allen will get it, I reckon it will be Danny Webb myself.

Can't see Allen working with Ling as director of football - Who would be his direct boss.

Who would you like to see as Head coach? :cool1:

I would go all out for Chris Kinnear. Dover squad, that has punched way above its weight two seasons in a row, is looking a little modest compared to the last few years shall we say so now would be a good time to jump ship. Enjoy watching Dover play more than most in this league because they're interesting. Think he has a full time job though which may be a problem...

Give Webb the kids role or the assistants job.

Agreed. I've been leaning towards Chris Kinnear myself and his Dover team is falling apart.

Again, not sure if he'd work under a Director of Football, but he's my first choice as well.

I dunno, I think the whole DoF thing is blown out or proportion really. We can offer a good wage for this league, the whole soundbite is stability meaning that the head coach is probably going to have time to do something, with 7 play off spots I think going forward finishing in them is very achievable and a promotion always looks good on a c.v.. although as I say i have a feeling Kinnear is a teacher so would have to give that up and I'd imagine at Dover the stability factor isn't really an issue.

Point is though the idea all we're going to get is inexperience is kinda horse crap really. Saying that I really don't want Allen, if nothing else his style of football offends me a little.

That can't be right. No-one enjoys watching Dover play.

On a side note, now it seems we're running with Grainger and Sergeant in goal, it'll be interesting. Really not been impressed by either of them, although I've seen Sergeant more, struggling to see where anything beyond adequate back up is going to come into play. Some of the stuff that worries me can be easily coaxed out of him, but his positioning really seems to be off a lot of the time and that gives me a big red flag. Hopefully a few months down the line I'm eating humble pie and one of them is having a storming start and winning points for us, I know Grainger in particular a few years ago was very highly rated.

All those players triggering release clauses and jumping ship. Were they heroes who battled on without wages? Or dross who got you into this mess?

Mostly good/decent players who arrived, took one look at the situation and downed tools. Parkes was one of the last to give up, so he gets a couple of brownie points. The heroes are the back room staff who kept the place running though the two desperate stages of The Era Of Incompetent Interference and its successor The Era Of Wilful And Criminal Neglect.

Looks like Ian Hendon is the new Head Coach

He's resigned from his position at Billericay Town, not a big suprise, he'd been to a few of our games at the back end of last season.
