We were nowhere good enough to finish in the play offs. The fact we finished 8th is criminal in the end. More about that Hess said it rather than whether it was correct or not, undermines Becchetti.

Latest I've heard is that we've spoken to various people - But nobody wants the job - because Becchetti wants to interfere one way or another with the team selection.

Hessenthaler will be appointed manager, but will apparently get paid ALOT of money to be the smokescreen for Becchetti picking and managing the side.

Kevin Nolan apparently has point blank refused to ever play for us again.

Great times.

Interesting stuff, especially Dossena's wage! Although with the likes of Cisak, Wright etc brought in after MMs departure our playing budget was higher for sure at the end of the season.

Funny though how Chinese whispers spread. At a game I was at I overheard a current league two head of recruitment and someone who'd played in the same team as Hendon (OOH LOOK AT ME) discussing Orient's finances and a figure of 32k was branded about for Dossena. Also seen someone (Off?) mention the same figure somewhere. Chinese whispers at its finest!

Seems a lot of nativity from FB towards MM.

We're a long way off Christmas so this can only get worse!

We'll be very very lucky to even get him.

Latest I've heard and all that, is that we're really struggling to appoint a manager - Hessenthaler has been trying to sign players and shock, horror - They're all rejecting us because no manager is in place.

Stuff we already know basically.

Looks highly likely it's Hessenthaler's...

Assume everyone else refused to work under the megalomaniac. Hess obviously being handsomely recompensed to allow him to abandon his dignity and let Frankie pick the team. 8th playing long ball shit it is (again).

It will be interesting to see what happens... It's fairly obvious I'd have thought that his post season comments suggest he wouldn't be happy to be a yes man - unless he was suitably compensated of course.

Really don't want Westley back managing any team at this level, I would just shudder to think of the Gamesmanship Derby that a Westley XI v Wycombe would become - Pepe-tastic levels of injury feigning and energy drink breaks every 5 minutes.

The only reason Hess has been offered the job - Is because he has been in talks with another club about moving there as a coach and they've clearly offered him something.

Whether or not he accepts or not I'm not sure, Becchetti will have to pay him ALOT of money to stay.

I've heard that Hess wants out myself, but who knows.

If Hess walks out, Becchetti and the club are fucked.

Hessenthaler confirmed as manager/puppet on one year deal:

http://www.leytonorient.com/news/article/hessenthaler-os-manager-3135144.aspx

Should've been done over a month ago if this was the case, but we've had 4 managers turn us down and Hessy wasn't even interviewed until recently.

It was an appointment which I expected, no one wants to come here and why would they?! Still pretty sure Hessenthaler is just the smokescreen for Becchetti to pick the team.

Any player that joins us will be in it for the money, because we haven't any direction here.

We could do alot worse than those two, Loft I think would be a good captain but his injury record last year for you was concerning.

McGlashan strikes me as an average League Two winger, who will have lots and lots of average games and a few excellent games.

Hessenthalar.........that will end well. Feel sorry for Orient at the moment. They could find themselves joining us if they're not careful.

There isn't a huge amount wrong with Hess, trouble he had with us was that he didn't have an assistant manager most of the time to bounce ideas off. He has a cracking eye for a signing as well.

Whether he'll actually be allowed to:

a) sign people he wants,
or
b) pick the team he wants

remains to be seen.

Hessenthaler - boo hiss.

Just a 1 year deal for him - surprised he accepted that. Is he that desperate to get back in, he couldn't negotiate a decent pay off!?

When Plymouth beat us on Tuesday night, Hessenthaler is gone.

I have some sympathy for him, his working conditions under these fucking idiots must be shocking. Heard from a few people who've spoken to close friends of Hessenthalers within the game, that he hates Becchetti and that the bloke has no idea how to deal with people or how to communicate with them.

But at the same time, I'm pissed off he took the job in the first place. He openly slagged the clubs heirachy off after we won our final two league games last season saying that it was all a mess, he had other offers from other clubs in the summer to leave - Millwall being one of them, Harris wanted him as a coach. Yet he took on our job as manager and at times in his interviews and his behaviour on the touchline, he looks like he couldn't really give a shit and is waiting for his pay out.

The next appointment will be from abroad, I can only hope its someone with experience.

Poor Hess.

I think this could be the job that confirms it in his mind that he just isn't a very good manager. He'd be a great chief scout for someone, but nothing more.

He'd have to manage to be a good manager. If the rumours are believed he's nothing more than a coach. I have no reason to doubt the rumours.

Well true, but he hasn't really ever been a good manager anywhere anyway. He's ok as a coach, but not great.
